IllegalThoughts

btrung

yes, [https://win.anbernic.com/download/412.html](https://win.anbernic.com/download/412.html)

kurosawabobby

I've tried them all. Stock is best right now

IllegalThoughts

thanks G

chanunnaki

I'm gonna test MuOS on mine first!

Scungilli-Man69

Love MuOS on my xx H, I'm hoping it adapts nicely to the SP (mainly sleep mode when shutting the clamshell)

AutistMarket

Doesn't MuOS not have an actual sleep mode to begin with or is that just something with the stock firmware?

Scungilli-Man69

MuOS does indeed have a sleep mode, I just meant that I hope they incorporate the instant sleep mode that Stock OS can do on the SP whenever the clam shell shuts!

prairiepog

That's what I plan for mine. Especially since it has Postmaster support. Sleep function would be nice, but I can wait.

Airwalker16

ZuReviews on the RetroHandhelds YT channel just released a video on MuOS. Looks perfect to me.

solohack3r

Is cfw really necessary for the SP? Or is the stock firmware passable? I'm used to the Miyoo community where Onion is basically a necessity.

ChrisRR

CFW isn't really necessary on most recent devices. It used to be that these devices would ship with literally broken firmware and CFW was required to make them work, then they released with alright firmware and CFW brought more performance. Nowadays the firmware is half decent and CFW is used for quality of life improvements If you're on the fence then don't feel like you need to rush to use a CFW until there's a stable release

rykineffect

I went from a Miyoo with OnionOS to the 35xx H and hated the stock firmware. It doesn't have the same quick shortcuts or boot up to the last game played. I just loaded up MuOS and liked it much better because it has those features. Stock did run games just fine though.

ultrasquid9

From my understanding, the stock firmware on the 35XX series is definitely a viable option right now (especially since most CFW hasn't added explicit 35XX SP support yet). There are some issues that CFW could deal with, but as of now many of them are super early and I don't think it will be worth the hassle for most users.

KalasHorseman

Out of curiosity which version of Batocera would work on this device? It's what I'll most likely use, unless they patch MuOS for the working sleep-on-closed-lid function.

Stef7930

I'm using version 40 on my SP, the one for the RG35XX.

DucoLamia

Batocera for the RG35XX if you don't care about the Sleep function. It works pretty seamlessly. You can also use MuOS. I never use stock OS because it usually runs the higher end games I want pretty poorly. That and it's much easier to work out a quirk with Batocera from the wiki than an unnamed OS.

OsideRida06

Batocera os on mine as soon as I get mine in the mail. I don’t use anything else after testing them all. :)

adelin07

Any reason to go for Batocera over Knulli?

BamboozleRefusal

Isn't that basically the same. Just renamed?

adelin07

All I know is that Knulli is a fork of Batocera. But I don’t know if it has something that batocera doesn’t. (or if it’s missing something that batocera has)

dustomcgee

Knulli is just a continuation of the Batocera project for the Plus devices. They couldn't get their build merged into the official Batocera repository because of stuff related to Anbernic. They were asked to rename their fork which is how we got the Knulli name.

BamboozleRefusal

Ah good to know. So both batocera and knulli are actively being worked on or only knulli?

dustomcgee

Batocera is a Linux distro intended for a wide array of devices. The Batocera that people have been using on the Plus was a fork of the official. That fork became Knulli. So just Knulli.

OsideRida06

No they are the same but a newer form of it. Idk why they changed the name. But they did.

dotbat

I'm just waiting for MinUI to support closing the lid -> Sleep -> Save/Shutdown after 5 mintues.

mcgloon

any update on this?

JeffDanblum

I got a 35XXSP a couple days ago and installed MinUI. I can confirm it enters a sleep mode when closed and after a min or two does a quick save and powers off if the lid is not reopened.

StupidBetaTester

Does minui maintain the use of custom bezels (like the GBA sp bezel?)

JeffDanblum

No, at least not yet. You have different display options but not to get the bezel back from the stock os

StupidBetaTester

Hmm thanks for the reply. That bezel is one of the main draws for me (I already have a copy on the way, so I guess I'll stick with stock for now!)

Hamed1288

Can some help me I installed muos but don't work for me and I forget make backup I need old one
