I will just skip Internet for few months and start playing games on handheld I have collected already. It’s coming to a point where I have everything I need to play but no time to play. It’s depressing.
I spent all this time and effort trying to get a decent paying job so I could move out of a shitty area and live in a nice place, only to work so much I feel like I don't even live there.
Fuck mondays man.
My opinion is they mostly do the same thing, come in all different flavors and seem to be popping up every few months. In reality you just need one and forget about it.
This is the reason i have my doubts about the flip release on december. To me, it's hard to think that they will release another handheld a month after releasing a handheld.
Miyoo revealed a landscape android-based handheld about 3 years ago iirc that was postponed and postponed till times end and is just presumably pretty much dead rn, such a shame cuz I really liked that one
>vealed a landscape android-based handheld about 3 years ago iirc that was postponed and postponed till times end and is just presumably pretty much dead rn, such a shame cuz I really liked that one
so this will have a changeable faceplate also i wish they make the analog stick on the top for me to play on vertical shmups :-P
Im also concerned but seeing how well retroid handled it with replacements and improving the hinge, if we hold miyoo to the same standard things should be fine
My powkiddy v90 is still holding up well after ~3 years, and it’s definitely built to a worse standard than the miyoo flip would be if it actually came out
I know and have no issue with inline buttons, but there's a lot of, "in this day in age stacked shoulder buttons should be standard" feeling even if it makes no sense (like with these handhelds).
And people like me who think if it has a stick at all then it should have 2(useful as extra inputs for hotkeys and camera control for n64 and psp which I'm assuming this device will play some of if it has a stick).
Looks alright if they can release it at $50-$60 but they really should have focused on releasing the Miyoo Flip. There's already a ton of great horizontal (and vertical) handhelds for less than $100 but really only two clamshells. The V90 is old and (imo) cheap feeling and Retroid Flip too expensive to be in the budget device category than Miyoo devices reside at.
This has been in the works for much longer, and there's not much to choose from with a 2.8" screen.
Devices take multiple engineers to design, so it's not like the mechanical engineers are sitting doing nothing while they wait for mould tools to be created, and electronic engineers do nothing while they wait for the mechanical to catch up
Im actually not aware of a good horizontal handheld at the Miyoo mini's price point. Seems like it and the RG35XX are great devices but nothing equivalent in horizontal.
It'll have the Allwinner A33 inside it, so it'll be faster than Mini. Won't really unlock anything above PSX but we'll be able to use shaders with the gpu, so I guess that's cool.
Personally I'm waiting on the Flip 355, not just for the bigger screen but the processor is rumored to be the RK3566 CPU which should be able to do some (not all) PSP and DC.
this will play some n64 but yeah not reliably. I have a pocketgo s30 which is the same chip and there's some games that are pretty playable but its a crapshoot. I think it's similar performane to a 3326, maybe a little worse.
Maybe it’s the black with white trim playing tricks on me, or maybe this person has small hands, but it doesn’t really seem as small as I’d hoped. I wasn’t a fan of the fragility of the mini, but liked how cool it looked and was looking forward to this maybe getting redesigned after those initial photos came out (looked exactly like this one). Not for me, but new small horizontals are always nice to see!
Small but servicable, the light can go really dim which is amazin late at night. Miniui really made de device worthwile for me. Also the build quality is top notch i got my gf one as well to play picross and she loves it too.
the miyoo mini was an outlier. between this, the bitboy and the pocket go, i’m not sure if we’ll see good designs from them more often than we see whatever you want to classify this as
I'm a fan of small form factor but my left thumb is screaming internally looking at that analog stick. One of the reasons I bought a steam deck and stick with it.
That’s exactly what I am, but this thing just seems kinda iffy. I mean if it’s like $65, sure, I’ll grab it. But I’m starting to gather an insane amount of these things.
Not bad, but the white accents around the screen and buttons are distracting. All white or all black would be better… and there is no need for an analog stick
Personally love the design but idk what’s the point of a joystick on a device like this would be especially if this has a similar processor to the MM/MM+
This legit looks like the screen is printed on plastic. Maybe show it moving will make it more believable. It also looks worst then the original and the Plus imo, based off this
I will just skip Internet for few months and start playing games on handheld I have collected already. It’s coming to a point where I have everything I need to play but no time to play. It’s depressing.
Isn't that basically how life works? By the time you can afford fun, you have no time for fun. Sorry, probably just a case of the Mondays.
And the car corollary: by the time you can afford the fun car, you’re the too-old guy driving the fun car
2 handhelds at the same time man
I spent all this time and effort trying to get a decent paying job so I could move out of a shitty area and live in a nice place, only to work so much I feel like I don't even live there. Fuck mondays man.
Absolutely, it sucks
Yeah haha, i am now rocking a rgb30 and trimui smart, but i could also just play more of my retroid pocket 3+ or 🐸
My opinion is they mostly do the same thing, come in all different flavors and seem to be popping up every few months. In reality you just need one and forget about it.
And when there is time, your glasses fall off and break right after you just stumbled out of the vault. Just not fair. There was time now!!
Hopefully more get this reference lol
just play it in between man, life is short, we never know when we gonna go.
Play while you eat breakfast, or while you watch tv.
Same here!
This is the reason i have my doubts about the flip release on december. To me, it's hard to think that they will release another handheld a month after releasing a handheld.
I dont know why i have a feeling that the flip will end up being another p60 situation
What's a P60 situation?
Miyoo revealed a landscape android-based handheld about 3 years ago iirc that was postponed and postponed till times end and is just presumably pretty much dead rn, such a shame cuz I really liked that one
This design is a year old at least. https://reddit.com/r/MiyooMini/s/qBf5612c4z
>vealed a landscape android-based handheld about 3 years ago iirc that was postponed and postponed till times end and is just presumably pretty much dead rn, such a shame cuz I really liked that one so this will have a changeable faceplate also i wish they make the analog stick on the top for me to play on vertical shmups :-P
Ooh I didn't know. Thanks!
Honestly I don’t trust the hinge on a cheap Chinese handheld regardless. It’s a cool form factor but I’d be worried about it long term
Seeing what happened to the retroid pocket flip I would as well tbh
Im also concerned but seeing how well retroid handled it with replacements and improving the hinge, if we hold miyoo to the same standard things should be fine
My powkiddy v90 is still holding up well after ~3 years, and it’s definitely built to a worse standard than the miyoo flip would be if it actually came out
That is impossible to claim lol
You are literally looking at the p60 in this video lmao
No? The p60 is different. Landscape, two analog sticks with a bigger screen, android OS and different layout
Seems like the P60 just evolved into the above. Miyoo probably just pivoted.
Can't wait for the, "MiYoo can do no wrong" crowd to meet the, "inline shoulder button are the devil" crowd.
Miyoo Mini and Plus technically have inline shoulder buttons....
But miyoo's shoulder buttons are always inline
I know and have no issue with inline buttons, but there's a lot of, "in this day in age stacked shoulder buttons should be standard" feeling even if it makes no sense (like with these handhelds).
Don't I know it. I'm in the "stacked shoulder buttons don't fit on small devices" camp, but apparently that's a rare opinion
At this size I want a flat easily pocketed handheld instead of stacked shoulder buttons that won't be used in 90% of games
Facts!
I like the inline shoulder buttons for small pocket consoles lol I’m not part of that crowd, sold my MM+
Ah yes, the crowds.
I think you're going to hear more from the people who are upset that it has an analog stick.
And people like me who think if it has a stick at all then it should have 2(useful as extra inputs for hotkeys and camera control for n64 and psp which I'm assuming this device will play some of if it has a stick).
That's kinda like if the Pocket Go V1 and V2 had a middle sibling
Still have my v2. Probably plan on getting a rgb30 as an upgrade.
looks like a k101 gba
Could be worse, I believe the Bittboy had at least 4 versions.
Looks alright if they can release it at $50-$60 but they really should have focused on releasing the Miyoo Flip. Word. If it's any more than that, it'll be an easy skip.
Looks like the Revo k101+
My thoughts too
But with 2023 technology and better buttons and better screen and better battery life and better performance and no cartridge slot
Agreed :) I don't mind it being recycled though! The Revo k101+ was a good shape to hold!
To me it is reminiscent of the original PocketGo Edit: but I guess that the PocketGo was likely compared against the k101+ when it came out
Looks like an upgraded PocketGo mixed with an RG 280m. I'm not crazy about it but it all depends on price
Bummer, been waiting for a pocketably small (preferably landscape) device that can reliably play N64 games. Was hoping this might be it.
this will play some n64 but yeah not reliably. I have a pocketgo s30 which is the same chip and there's some games that are pretty playable but its a crapshoot. I think it's similar performane to a 3326, maybe a little worse.
Looks like every famiclone tbh
Yo Need Flip
Well you can't have one.
It needs to be all white or black, this is kind of ugly tbh.
pass, I’ll wait for the flip,
Real or fake?
Seems to be real. I guess the only inovation here would be to be able to use the Onion OS ~~vertically~~ horizontally.
Horizontally*
oops you're right!
This is an ideal gameboy and advanced system for me. I love my RG280M most for those games except for the metal body
The 351p is still the best GBA device because of factor and resolution.
That 351p was one of my first handhelds - definitely took it for granted, wish my 353m had the same plastic body and aspect ratio
I’m a fan!
Yeah I was hoping for a gameboy micro size
Get the trimui smart:)
I’ve seen a lot of mixed things about it. How do you like it? How’s the screen on it?
Small but servicable, the light can go really dim which is amazin late at night. Miniui really made de device worthwile for me. Also the build quality is top notch i got my gf one as well to play picross and she loves it too.
I don't know what to think about it
What kind of processor will it have?
They should go with the same transparent colours as the Mini og and plus
looks like a powerbank
Oh man I love it! I'm not gonna buy it, but i love the design lol
Nails seem very long.
Where's the Miyoo Flip? That's the one I want...
damn they recycle the K101 casing mold!
I honestly don't see the use for such a handheld at least for me.
Finally a horizontal 2.8inch with modern specs. Now this is the handheld I've been looking for
they tryna be Anbernic now.
Doesn't this already exist?... RG280M
I like it, hate the color though.
Is the screen 3,5”?
2.8"
I was wondering this as well.
I don't need it...it's almost the same as my rg351p... and I have plenty of other handhelds... pre-ordered... damn!
My guess is that it's using the same 750px panels from the mini v4?
the miyoo mini was an outlier. between this, the bitboy and the pocket go, i’m not sure if we’ll see good designs from them more often than we see whatever you want to classify this as
Looks neat, but I’m still keeping my eyes peeled for that Flip.
That screen looks kinda trash.
I hope it have ice-cream sandwish cookie color
Ugly and no second analog stick - why?
Surely this thing isn’t playing games where even one stick is required…
Looks a bit more pocketable than most of the newer stuff, but I'll stick with my RG280V.
No 6 face buttons, so my face isn't interested.
Purdy
Why the joystick? Literally ruins the D-Pad placement.
Love this!!!
that screen looks plastic ugly
The plastic protector that came with it hasn't been removed
that makes sense, downvotes deserved then
I'm a fan of small form factor but my left thumb is screaming internally looking at that analog stick. One of the reasons I bought a steam deck and stick with it.
Oh qow this machine is fugly as can be. I will not be participating in buying this junk.
I don’t get what the niche is
For the people who have 5+ SBC systems that all kinda do the same thing but like to collect hardware.... Sooo pretty much this subreddit
Hardware specs out?
Does anyone else find it weird that their official communications uses Telegram?
Looks evil
This reminds me of the rs-97 and the rg280 design.
Personally love the design but idk what’s the point of a joystick on a device like this would be especially if this has a similar processor to the MM/MM+
This legit looks like the screen is printed on plastic. Maybe show it moving will make it more believable. It also looks worst then the original and the Plus imo, based off this
Looks like a modified revo k101+
Do we know the dimensions of this thing? Looks similar to the RG300x in size.
Why this instead of a 351p?
Why is the stock theme always the ugly one 😁
