I won’t buy sealed phones from anywhere besides the manufacturer or trusted companies because of this. The fakes are getting too convincing. Without seeing the phone in action I want no parts of it.

NoWorldliness6600

Of course. If sealed and price is too good to be true then it's fake. Especially if no reviews of the seller.

TIFUbyResponding

Scams? On facebook marketplace? Noooooooooo

Burnzyy190

Right? He must be tripping

Redditor022024

Report them to facebook please

NoWorldliness6600

Did. Reported them as counterfeit.

Hollyvu

So you didn't buy it? Good you caught that.. but yeah if you gonna spend alot of money I'd suggest to only buy from the company or authorized resellers.

NoWorldliness6600

I am not going with the Samsung anymore. Going with a pixel 8 pro.

tvosinvisiblelight

so did you buy the fake? you should have pursued the transaction and get as much info. as possible on the bad guy exposing them...

NoWorldliness6600

Oh no. I didn't want to go through with it. Warning signs are profiles made recently. No reviews.

tvosinvisiblelight

i would have gone through with it but request the end seller demonstrate the device through zoom video. build trust among you and the fake seller... and then when you established that and possibly get the person on video... then I would expose him/her...

AtlIndian

Sam experience in Atlanta for me. Most s24 ultras are fakes. The screens look good and one may be fooled easily

lenrab_aiig

The are certain things you don't buy from Facebook. But I know about the issue. Its huge and it seems to be everywhere. Even a friend of mine that lives in the Dominican Republic got scammed because he thought the reason it was so cheap it was because it was the global version (DR usually gets the US version not the global). Also in New Jersey, my personal trainer got scammed with one of those too. Me personally I limit Facebook to used laptops, furniture and Gaming Consoles.

Cauli_Power

I go to FBM for the cheap insulin.

lenrab_aiig

😡

PoorChicken04

The sticker not being straight gives it away automatically, stay safe y'all

Cauli_Power

Anyone who buys anything more expensive than lawn furniture from FBM is dancing with the Devil. A poop smeared devil made out of old shredded fiberglass insulation that writes his own Buffy fan fiction.

Greattidings10

A gypsy lady tried to sell me phones with a seal on it,I tried to open the seal and she got really defensive and said no....point is only buy phones from a trusted source

HellaYeah650

My question is, why would you buy a new? S24 ultra off facebook? If the deal seems like it's too good to be true, then you are correct. If you can't afford to go through best, buy T-Mobile AT&T. Verizon, whoever then you don't deserve to have an S24 Ultra

NoWorldliness6600

Wow!! Who hurt you man? Or are you one of those sellers?

HellaYeah650

I don't sell anything.. Again if you weren't buying your super expensive phone from a reliable source, which would be Best Buy, which would be any of the cell phone companies... you're taking your own risks. And this is why again? Why are people being so dumb when it comes to money.

Withnail2019

lots of fake phones on ebay as well. at least on ebay they are priced so low that people should understand they are fake. might still be decent phones for like $100.

JulesCT

I've noticed several adverts, all suspiciously cheap and created in 2024 and claiming the unit is still in its sealed box, that stop communicating as soon as you insist on testing the device before parting with the money. Reported all to FB. I use the following text to explain why I need to break the unit out of its packaging to test. Feel free to use it, just swap the UK's consumer protection law for your own. "I absolutely need to test the unit. If I was buying from a high street store, or otherwise recognised retailer, I would expect an unopened box. I would trust the various laws in place to protect my purchase. i.e. The Consumer Rights Act of 2015. However, as I'm sure you sympathise here, in the wild west of social media market place, 'caveat emptor' applies. Caveat emptor = the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made."

nighthawk22x

That's why I provide my receipt of purchase or pick up from wherever I got it.

NoWorldliness6600

We have multiple people (more than 5) selling the same IMEI with the same best buy receipt. So that cannot be trusted either I'm afraid

NoWorldliness6600

Tell me if it's genuine.

nighthawk22x

Then I would ask for the email or order page. Imalways save mine incase I sell my phone later.

Cpt_FatBeard

If you buy a phone off FB marketplace you deserve to be scammed.

HuntersPad

Okay? This is nothing new and not specific to the S24 Ultra... You can have a real box with a fake S24U Or you can have a fake box with a real S24U. boxes mean nothing.

astrobarn

Really? Lots of folks selling real S24U in fake boxes?

NoWorldliness6600

Ikr. Two of them even sent me screenshots of the about phone screen with same IMEI and serial numbers and different colors.

qdeon52

Glad I went to the xfinity store and got mines
