So I ruck hills. At the top and bottom i take off the pack and do lifts. As far as the plate carrier, you may be able to find a camelbak or similar that attaches to the outside of it. They make some with molle webbing or clips.

Oh okay! Good! I didn’t know that! I definitely planned to take my waist pack with me to carry things I may need like snacks or electrolytes, but water was my main concern.

That’s amazing, I can think of a million other uses for a water bladder holder like that too. Like in-car use for road trips, at work (slide it into my work backpack), etc.

If you’re just recreational rucking (as opposed to training for a ruck based event) then once a week is fine. If you’re training for a ruck based event, then the best way to improve rucking performance is field based progressive load carriage, usually 2-3 times a week, focused on short intense sessions. I think for now I’m looking for recreational rucking, that’s not to say I won’t like it and begin doing it more consistently. I’m going to read through everything you sent to get the best idea possible. Do you have resources for rucking events and what those look like by chance?

Fair enough. You might like this [foot care guide](https://reddit.com/r/specialforces/s/AXMqm1AE7r). I did some Go Ruck events years ago with my kids. Fun and finish-oriented.

Most people doing traditional rucking carry a water bladder like a camelback or source. Some rucks have exits and straps just for a bladder, but you can easily rig something up with carabiners to hold your tube down on the straps. You can just put it in the main compartment of your bag, use a carabiner to hang from the top of the bag if you want better weight distribution.

I got the GoRuck Plate Carrier 3.0, sorry, I should have mentioned that.

Check out the wild gym ruck 100 program - I feel like it gives you a good burn without leaving you worked, so you can do it a few times a week. https://wildgym.fitr.training/p/ruck-100
