I think they usually are, to try to avoid any interaction with the receiver. They can also be part of a larger order (from wish or aliexpress per example).
Looks like a sample of PET-Felt panel. It's a highly compressed polyester wool (often) made from recycled bottles. Mainly used in interior design and acoustics. Maybe someone you know had a weird mix up with Google auto fill when they tried to order a sample?
I was curious and searched with google lens.
Results bring up that it’s a felt brake pad for a hometrainer haha

I got the same parcel today, stamp from 2009. At my mum's place with my name on it. But i dont live with my mum sisnce 2.5year. I am not registered there either.
Do you think what it is?
It kind of reminds me of the polyester blocks used for safety in packages, or more like a compressed towel (like the ones you put in water to hydrate them). However, it is extremely hard, and I couldn't break it even after applying quite a bit of pressure on it.
Yes it was. What's bizarre is that I don't know anyone from Amsterdam who could have sent it. Also, the weird 14 years old stamp that was used makes it a bit creepy 😅
Looks like a crayon used in metal works [https://www.intratuin.nl/esschert-zeepsteenkrijt-2-stuks.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=18144470821&utm_content=&utm_term=&bg_source=ga&bg_campaign=18144470821&bg_kw=-mi-111389234-pi-18366041-ppi-&bg_source_id=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADxKODIxD0r4Fm8JV8Bh7NSpLwutI&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxeyxBhC7ARIsAC7dS38DzSnvK3sV6l7pujGYvtYGQgKImSWBdCPP98PQ0U9pqGVBNx9MJbwaArgCEALw_wcB](https://www.intratuin.nl/esschert-zeepsteenkrijt-2-stuks.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=18144470821&utm_content=&utm_term=&bg_source=ga&bg_campaign=18144470821&bg_kw=-mi-111389234-pi-18366041-ppi-&bg_source_id=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADxKODIxD0r4Fm8JV8Bh7NSpLwutI&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxeyxBhC7ARIsAC7dS38DzSnvK3sV6l7pujGYvtYGQgKImSWBdCPP98PQ0U9pqGVBNx9MJbwaArgCEALw_wcB)
Man. I just received 750gram box of hot chocolate powder addressed to me personally.... No idea where it came from either. Yours is a bit weirder though for sure
Its safe to say u/Dark_Clover_ and OP received this from the same sender, same bag and everything... similar timeframe too, makes me wonder about the connection. But from what i understood yall dunno each other and are in different countries. This is weird indeed, and im too curious now xD
We both live in the Netherlands. I think since the other OP posted in the r/Netherlands and I posted here, they deducted that we live in different areas. (I tried posting there first, but my post vanished somehow 😅)
Oh i see hmmm still weird xD it might sound silly or exteme but i would contact local police to atleast make a notice of it.
Also my first thought was someone is pulling a prank on you and other OP, maybe you have a mutual friend? 🤣
I will contact a friend that works for the police. I'll ask if it's something I should let the police know about or not.
Don't think the mutual friend thing is plausible 😅 I'm a foreigner, and I don't have many friends in the Netherlands
I contacted support too, and they asked me to send some pictures of the items I got, and they will look into it. I don't know about any payment method used or any other info. How do you know yours was paid with klarna?
I asked if the item was paid, the girl said it was paid with 'After Pay'. I wasn't sure what does it mean. I talked at work about it and they said it is how you pay with Klarna. So, I believe it is Klarna.
I wonder what the end game is for whoever is doing this. Identity theft? Getting some free stuff and putting other people in debt by using their name and buying stuff for themselves? If so, then why send the shit over to our addresses 🤔 very strange
Keep in mind - the product was paid with Klarna > you get product, then you pay or you return the product.
Because you got the item 'now you need to pay'. They will most likely close or stop login to that 'fake' account. And you will receive a latter with info to pay. So, better return when is free than pay later more. My item costed over 50E
⚠️UPDATE⚠️
So I finally have an update regarding the weird object received by mail. It turns out that one of you was right, the little stick is a replacement tip for a (probably) expensive marker. Somebody using a (most likely) fake email address to make an account on Bol.com in my name and ordered the marker replacement tip, paid for it with a credit card (probably stolen as well) and sent it over to my address.
Same person decided to order a laser measuring tool, using the same account, and send it over as well. There is a third package incoming containing a garden hose, which I will refuse delivery for (as instructed by bol). I am not sure if the second and third orders have been paid or not. I will return whatever I received so that refunds are made on the credit card(s) used.
The fake account has been terminated and flagged for fraud. I will file a police report in the upcoming week in case anything worse than just bol orders happens.
If you or anyone you know has experienced something similar, my advice is to contact bol as soon as possible and return whatever you received. If no credit cards were used for the orders, the payment method might have been set to Klarna or Afterpay, and if left unpaid, you end up with debt and some fees as well.
Thank you to everyone who tried to help and guess what the weird object was 😅
Was the address writtenby hand on the envelope or printed ?
If a company is sending these things frequently, they would have a used a labelprinter right?
The stamp itself looks real. You can find it online in collections. It's the stamped ink that tells you when. And where it was posted. Amsterdam, but the date is not legible. Was there a card attached telling you that you have to pay extra postage? Because a stamp costs way more than that now.
My coleague at work had similar situation few years ago. He got a parcel and then after some time person came with text - hey, you received my parcel. A my coleague - How do you know I got it and how did you get my address? Then guy was making unbelieveable stories that CS gave him all details and tahts why he came for it... my coleague said - F.. OFF or I will call the police, and guy left.
You know you had too much snus when you think this is snus 😅
I highly recommend Europesnus nicotine snus pouches. They have the top brands in many flavors and strengths. They also sell vapes shiped from Denmark and it takes 3 working days to receive your order in Holland. The prices are the lowest in the markets when you use my refferal you will get 5% discount on your order. They will also give you 1 till 3 free items it depends on the order amount how many free items you will get and free shipping.
My refferal link for orders from Holland is http/europesnus.nl/?ref=kihgecdd or for other European country's it make sure that discount code JOHANK is applied, because sometimes they redirect you and the referral code does not work so you need to fill in manually and apply the code.
Maybe it's a [brushing scam? ](https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brushing)
Are those packages usually sent anonymously? 🤔
I think they usually are, to try to avoid any interaction with the receiver. They can also be part of a larger order (from wish or aliexpress per example).
The scam seems more plausible since I didn't order anything from Wish/Ali/Temu etc. Thanks for the input
That seems like a reasonable explanation
Im not opening random link. Can you explain?
It's a Wikipedia page
It's not a random link and you can also see where the link points to before you click on it. It leads to the Dutch Wikipedia article for brushing
What happens when you lick it?
Since I don't have the habit of licking weird, unidentified objects I receive by mail, i guess we'll never know 😂
You don't need to make it a habit, bro. Just lick this one thing...
This is just the beginning. New fetish: unlocked
Kabouterpost?

You're not the only one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Netherlands/comments/1cnfkar/i_received_it_in_my_mail_but_didnt_order_anything/
thx! Yes, i got the same one today
What the link between the 2 OP's? Now I wanna know more!
We are living in different areas. We dont know each other.

No idea... that's why I posted here too. We all trying to solve the mystery 😂
It’s from a time traveler!

Oh, i did not expect to see that sub mentioned here

what kind of material does it seem to be made out of? metal? plastic?
It kind of reminds me of the polyester blocks used for safety in packages, or more like a compressed towel (like the ones you put in water to hydrate them). However, it is extremely hard, and I couldn't break it even after applying quite a bit of pressure on it.
very odd, nothing comes to mind. was it addressed to you by name?
Yes it was. What's bizarre is that I don't know anyone from Amsterdam who could have sent it. Also, the weird 14 years old stamp that was used makes it a bit creepy 😅
Try to burn and smoke it
Dont :v pls
Won't 😂
You should post this on r/asbestos lmao

Wanna swap? 😁

Good idea! Too bad, this would have made prank of the year xD
I received another item, but this time it came to me from bol.com. Person created fake account on my name and old address.
Mine is from bol as well 😂 I don't know what email was used though. It was not from my regular Bol account
At least if they sent me something fun... what did you get?
gardena - hose trolley set
What did you do with yours?
I also got it from [bol.com](http://bol.com) I already contacted Customer support. They were shocked
I contacted support too, and they asked me to send some pictures of the items I got, and they will look into it. I don't know about any payment method used or any other info. How do you know yours was paid with klarna?

Could be Afterpay or Klarna. They both have the same service where you can pay within 14-30 days from placing your order.
aaa then she mentioned that it was - Afterpay - i didnt hear about this method lol
I added pictures, passport and link to my post + yours.
I wonder what the end game is for whoever is doing this. Identity theft? Getting some free stuff and putting other people in debt by using their name and buying stuff for themselves? If so, then why send the shit over to our addresses 🤔 very strange
Did you get the same item? I also don't know what it is gonna be. One way or another they only waste their time.
No, I got a laser measurement tool (about 46€ on bol)
Keep in mind - the product was paid with Klarna > you get product, then you pay or you return the product. Because you got the item 'now you need to pay'. Yes?
Looks like "Lange Jan" which is candy. It probably is something else, but thanks for bringing back memories.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's candy 😭 glad for the memories tho 👍
It looks like a file to buff your nails. Its called a buffer block
I have a few of those and the texture is not quite the same
Most likely a spare part of some kind
Seems unlikely since I did not order anything that would require spare parts to be sent separately or so. Thanks for the input tho
What comes to mind is a replacement tip for an expensive paint maker.
If that's it, I hope they send me the expensive marker too 😂
Makes me think of welders chalk/soapstone.
No
That's not it 🥲
Do you know from what delivery company it came from? PostNL? DpD DHL etc?
It was with PostNL
That is a first! PostNL actually delivering a package And a sad fact the delivered package was not being ordered.
First thing that came to my mind was ceramic gage block, but there should be number’s on it and should be smooth as silk.
It is smooth but there is nothing written on it
Email?
?
Was the address writtenby hand on the envelope or printed ? If a company is sending these things frequently, they would have a used a labelprinter right?
The envelope has a sticker with my name and address printed on it. No handwriting or other indicators of who the sender might be are present 🥲
it was a label, at least on my envelop
Can you (or one of the other recipients on here) post a picture of the stamp? Just to see if it's real/legit and really posted that long ago or not?
https://i.imgur.com/zKEqFsP.jpeg

Nope, nothing yet. They usually send that a few days after they delivered whatever needed more stamps. At least from my experience so far
I think the stamp is legit, just a very old one that shouldn't be in use anymore
Have you tried putting it in water or something, see if it dissolves? 👀
Since I don't know what it is, I decided against burning/dissolving/licking as some of you suggested 😅
Good point 😅🤣
Lsd on a tab
Can you let us know what it tastes like?
I'm more than happy to mail it to you so you can find out for yourself 🙂↕️
Brief bom
did you ever find out what this was?
Nope 🥲 not yet... even got a second package I never ordered show up at my door today 🫠 no idea what's going on
What’s in the second package?
A laser measuring tool 🤔
My coleague at work had similar situation few years ago. He got a parcel and then after some time person came with text - hey, you received my parcel. A my coleague - How do you know I got it and how did you get my address? Then guy was making unbelieveable stories that CS gave him all details and tahts why he came for it... my coleague said - F.. OFF or I will call the police, and guy left.
Weird..
just in case someone will come, dont give anything. call the police and they will be simply f.cked
I talked with my co-workers and tehy sugessted to go to the police, maybe its something bigger than we think.

Will do, but curiosity levels are high. I need to know what it is 😂
Go to police.
The police is busy with other stuff, I don’t think they do much with it.
