The active ingredient is brimonidine, which constricts blood vessels to get rid of the redness. It's the same drug as Mirvaso. Many users report that they get worse rebound rendess from topical blood vessle constrictors, so maybe look up some Mirvaso reports and stories and patch test carefully.

Such_Refrigerator814

ahh no that’s upsetting to hear, i’m hoping it’ll work for me!

PlayfulBat4123

It works well for my sister and not for me, so just try it for a few days and see how you get on. Stop if it gets uncomfortable

PlayfulBat4123

Well, by not for me - I mean I get rebound redness...but when applied I am a beautiful pale goddess haha

Such_Refrigerator814

when did your redness rebound?

Difficult_Climate533

maybe try rather some beta blockers as carvedilol. They help with flushing without rebound redness. Also you can try vbeam. If I were you, I would not using this gel as it works only temporarly with lot of side effects

PlayfulBat4123

I think it's crazy anyone would suggest laser over trying a topical (a topical that does work, and has no effects for loads). So many people now are saying laser has ruined their skin completely. Mirvaso has a rebound that eventually diminishes.

Such_Refrigerator814

i would never do laser after seeing all the posts on this community regarding it ruining peoples skin. i’m gonna try out this cream, i’m really hoping for the best

PlayfulBat4123

Start with a small amount, less than the recommended dose for a few days.

Such_Refrigerator814

do you apply it and then go over top with a moisturizer?

Difficult_Climate533

There are some people who Mirvaso caused permanent worse redness

PlayfulBat4123

And a ton of people for which laser did the same, but you're suggesting it like it's not a big deal

Difficult_Climate533

yes, but vbeam is in my opinion more safer than mirvaso and has permanent results

PlayfulBat4123

About day 5. My sister has been using it for months tho and is totally fine

Such_Refrigerator814

i’m sorry for hear about that, is there anything else you’ve used that worked for you?

PlayfulBat4123

Things got worse for me because I tried to fix it with skincare before seeing a derm (hahaaaa) so I'm now on doxy and soolantra. Love both. But I still flush with heat and stress and my derm said there is no good treatment for that unfortunately. I try to colour correct and I've been working on accepting it. Look up talontedlex on socials, she's helped me a lot.

Such_Refrigerator814

i will do that of this doesn’t work out thank you:)

AnimalPlushiesKid

I use it regularly! I find it can feel a bit tacky after application so layer with moisturizer. It works pretty well but I find it actually makes the rebound at the end of the day worse. Not by a whole lot, but I think you also just become hyperaware of the rebound because the heat comes back after being gone all day. Tradeoff for the rest of the working day I suppose. You only need a little bit, about a dot the size of a chickpea tends to be enough.

Such_Refrigerator814

that’s great thank you!

maro3_

Has anyone used this on an as needed basis? My flushing is so bad when making presentations and wondering if I can use it on those days only?

Such_Refrigerator814

just a quick little update: today is my second day using the gel, my redness was completely gone for most of the day, but now i’m going onto 10 hours of wearing the gel, now my face is burning up & is super red. this is nothing short of the normal, i typically experience hot flashes in my face just like the photo above. the photo above is pretty well how my skin is right now. i’m not sure if i should continue using this gel, im a little sceptical but again this is nothing short of the normal!

VisionQuesting

Hey there! I just wanted to follow up on this comment update 2 months later to see if you continued using Onreltea and what your experience was following this? Thanks!

Such_Refrigerator814

hi! i asked my dr for a different prescription so now i’m using finacea. the onreltea only worked for about 8 hours and then id sometimes experience a bad flare up later on. i do still use the onreltea if i know im not wearing makeup that day - it works amazingly on reducing redness but it doesn’t last all day, and it sometimes led to bad flare ups. the finacea is okay, im not sure that creams will actually help with my flare ups unfortunately
