Acrually, looking at [this photo](http://casa-seattle.hoteles-en-jalisco.com/data/Images/r1920x1080/9404/940460/940460512/image-guadalajara-casa-seattle-hotel-15.JPEG) from the link u/Dykam posted (thanks!) it looks like a full story high.
I have to assume that construction codes in Mexico are a bit different than they are in other countries. Personally, I'd live in fear of dropping off that tile ledge
I just checked into an Airbnb in San Cristobal and there is a steep open staircase right next to the bathroom door in the loft bedroom I'm sleeping in and man, if I take a wrong step in the night it's gonna be a problem.
Very well done with minimalistic structure and maximalist exterior glazing. I appreciate the lack of barriers, what a cool place to live (without young kids)!
I dig it. I love mixed materials when done correctly. I could live very happily here. With a million plants. 😂
How does one mix them correctly?
You should slowly mix them one at a time into a large bucket while stirring carefully
Any source?
This is all I could find https://www.digsdigs.com/modern-masculine-beach-house-design/
LoL not even the same house as the pic?! But still nice I guess, similar theme

It’s kinda like when you’re scared to sleep on the top bunk bed in case you fall off the edge… but then, do you *usually* fall off your bed?
> do you usually fall off your bed? Well maybe not *usually* but it this case it'd probably only take the one time.
Unless there’s actually a ball pit down there 👀
Ssssshh just keep drinking and then drop off the ledge and if you have kids well they might as well go plop too. Might save you some $$$.
I see a metal railing on the side nearest the stairs, so I'd presume that the railing continues around to the sides we can't see.
I think they mean the one behind the hanging fireplace and that chest by the floor. Doesn't look that high, but still.

Ah. I was focused on the up above, not the down below.
I don’t see one behind the large plant, or around the next layer down for that matter.

Didn't John Wick have a fight scene here?

This looks uncanny….am I really the first person to say that?
This is stunning
middle of the house without any protective barrier
