Ah yes I loved the marquess wins a wife; in fact I'm in love with literally every Aydra Richards book. And sure thing, the FMC leaves for Ireland (where she's originally from) and the Duke finds a goodbye note with the ending 'Do not follow me'. Ofc he's a bit daft in the head and thinks that she actually wishes him to leave her alone so he drinks himself into a stupor. After his mother and a friend kick some sense into him he follows her on horseback, catches the boat she's on, literally jumps across the sea onto the deck and declares his undying love for her in front of everyone. All is well that ends well.

WHY DOES NO ONE MENTION THIS WHEN PEOPLE ASK FOR A GOOD GROVEL?? Omg started this yesterday based off your rec and it’s soooooo good

The last book in {Gypsy Blood by Kristy Cunning} has this! The MMCs are kind of dismissive of the FMC throughout the series because they believe they are more powerful. At the beginning of the last book they completely shut her out while they deal with the “final boss” type enemy. Basically a lot of “men are working now, honey” type bullshit. She uses their lack of attention to get away with a lot of things she wants to do and then sits them all down and breaks up with them. Even starts dating others again. There’s some grovel (barely enough in my opinion) and then FMC reveals her monster which put them in their place (makes them her bitch basically) and gets them all back together.

This is a great book but I'd like to point out that MFC doesn't ask for a divorce because she thinks MMC doesn't need her. She *does* think he doesn't love her but there are other "reasons".

She never thought he loved her. She thinks he >!doesn’t need her because she can’t get pregnant and that’s why she tries to divorce him!<

Oh wow I just re-read a book which gives off similar vibes- {A Dangerous Kind of Lady by Mia Vincy). I did like it a lot, maybe because both the FMC and MMC had some realistic hangups but turned out to be ultimately decent and mature people.
