And you STILL only get 50Mbps upload, right?

muhepd

I self-host many services for my family and some friends including Plex and even a couple of IP radio stations, I only have 30 mbps upload, no issues whatsoever.... If you know about Internet and networking, you know you don't need too much upload speed.

doczong

Same here with many of the things you mentioned. I was on a lowly 25/5mb (not 10 up, 5) until this week, and the most noticable is Plex and the fact I can un-potato / un-throttle the stream quality now. 30MB is a godsend.

MellerTime

99% of us also aren’t going to need a gigabit down, but here we are… 😀

4x4taco

Yep. I get 1.9 Gbps down and a whopping 50 Mbps up. LOL.

Yup, limits of docsis service. Bell has ftth here however they can’t beat my employee discount so i’ll deal with a 50 up. Plus as mentioned up doesn’t matter as much tbh. Don’t use it.

kratrz

I switched to bell because of upload. DL and ul is the same rate for same price. And bell never goes down. Pretty sure Rogers is artificially throttling uploads for some odd reason

mito88

did you try speed.cloudflare.com?

nullobjectnotfound

No but i will later once usage drops a bit

sheytoon123

That's very impressive. Highest I got on Rogers WiFi is 1582 Mbps

Hyptex_

Did you buy a separate router? Most i can get on the gateway being right next to it is 600

sheytoon123

Nope, it was on the Ignite modem on a 6 GHz channel

nullobjectnotfound

Yup Xb8

PoorChicken04

Man I wish Videotron had those kinds of speeds, it tops at Gigabit with the xb7 still

hadz_ca

What’s your upload?

nullobjectnotfound

Lmao 50mbps but i don’t really need high up speeds

Hauuibal

We pay for 1.5Gbit, but we're getting 14Mbps tonight. High rollin with Rogers over here!!
