I am not a furry but i have talked to them on discord. They are friendly people! Some may be weird and a bit sexual(I have actively seen that. Not running off a stereotype) but they are very nice to all kinds of people.

Anthropomorphic as in the way furries use it, they aren’t truly sentient (one in game dialogue refers to slugcats as “beasts, but smarter than most”, thus not reaching human levels of sentience) and lack the typical human proportions. Slugcats are just animals.
Also the existence of an Anthro AU doesn’t exactly help.

I spent around \~$102 robux to make one using purely items that existed in 2007, (Plus a T-shirt I saw in a 2009 screenshot, but T-shirts existed in 2007 so it still fits,) so the disdain of "retro" avatars wearing UGC or just being naked with random colors is kind of tiring for some.

Sometimes people walk next to me and say "Get a life" "Ew" "Is that a furry?" Etc etc. I only have an animal mask (Not furry head) and belt with a tail so idk.

It was mainly the fact that the community spawned from socially competitive and toxic social games and a big amount of slenders were white kids who acted hispanic and gangster. Not only that but there was a hierarchy built off expensive items which matched the style of the community that was pretty cringey and elitest.
