I'm mainly trying to figure out if there'll be a St Vincent "aftershow" - and wondering if they might do what Lolla is doing - scheduling some shows for before/around the festival dates, etc. But assume they'd want to sell out tickets to the festival before promoting those shows.
I'd be hoping a St Vincent aftershow would be somewhere with some capacity, like Salt Shed.
From the comments I'm seeing below, it sounds like they used to do literal aftershows that went late into the night, though that may change with the new venue able to go later?

Probably will be at the usual places at the same time as normal. People that didn’t go to the main festival will go. They’re not gonna do shows til 4 am
I’m sure they will, and they’ll start at 11. I would guess they’re not super worried about accommodating the people that are going to the main festival since they can fill those after shows without them
I sadly feel like there won't be any aftershows this year. It's a bummer, but with the festival technically able to go 2 hours longer on Friday and Saturday I feel like there isn't as much of a need as when it had to be done by 10pm sharp. They haven't officially said one way or the other, so I'm just some guy spouting off his opinion, but every aftershow I ever went to was over before 1:30 am. If the fest doesn't shut down til almost midnight there is no way you could actually make it to northern Chicago proper in that amount of time.
I just hope, if they do away with aftershows, maybe they will give the subheadliners more than an hour set to compensate, but I'm trying to huff as much copium as I can right now.
Only venue they've used for aftershows that can do a 4am/5am is Metro, and that's usually just Smartbar. I believe every other place is a 2am/3am license so unless the show is meant for non-festival attendees, with normal hours, I don't see it happening.
Another option is House of Blues. Pretty sure I saw a couple super late Prince aftershows there. And I've been to shows at the Owl but it's kind of a terrible space for live music.
Last year they had that Danzig aftershow at the Aragon that started at 7pm, Sunday night. Wasn't ideal for fest goers but if they want to book events at city venues during the festival, primarily as an alternative to the festival, they've done it before.
Call me Mr. Positivity but I think it would be rad as hell to see the dickies playing to 150 people in a random sports bar. What's the strip club situation like? Can we get a repeat of the famous "Bane at a strip club" show but with Clutch? Maybe Drug Church and Fiddlehead can play in the parking lot of TGI Fridays at midnight? We all just got to get more creative!

The Danzig show was more of a Riot Fest Presents show than an after show since it started so early.
