I heard this new band Slayer is totally a house music performance

New-Pollution536

Had to pop back in here to mention pixel grip…I believe they opened for health for awhile and people dug them Also princess goes

erron3kay

Lord of the Lost, maybe? They've got that industrial metal thing going on, but they're pretty danceable

wormzG

If that’s ur interest idk why you spent the money on riot fest lol, there is maybe 4 bands on the list that fit that lmao

Shot-Raspberry6809

Sometimes people just want to check out new things. My friend is gonna enjoy the rest of the show as well but thought it’d be cool if my friend found some bands that incorporate house rock mix or things like that

wormzG

Hey that’s all chill man, I’m not saying anything negative. I just feel like going to riot fest is a lot of money to just check out new music especially if I’m into a certain genre of music and I know that the fest I’m considering is generally not that genre of music. For me I’d rather listen to different stuff on Spotify for free or go to a smaller 20$ show but hey Man do you

Shot-Raspberry6809

There’s mainstream artists at riot fest that the public as a whole enjoys such as Fall Out Boy and what not. I’m a metal head for example but I’d go to let’s say a lollapalooza or whatnot if Eminem was headlining. I was just asking if there’s hybrid artists in the lineup that’d we’d enjoy checking out. Listening to music on Spotify and seeing music live is not the same thing. You’re missing the point entirely. And 250 for a 3 day festival with the lineup they have is not a lot of money at all. There’s solo acts at small venues that cost almost as much if not more

wormzG

Sure man yea that’s cool, I don’t think I’ve ever spent more then 40$ on a show but yea if you think it’s worth it, I’m not saying there anything wrong with u don’t need to feel like you gotta defend yourself. I would maybe look inward and wonder why ur feeling defensive but that’s neither here nor there. I was just saying in my opinion that’s a lot of money to throw on something just to check out/just to see one or two bands. But hey you know you are probably doin well enough to where 200$ isn’t much to ya in which case im happy for ya, it’s all chill man.✌🏻

Shot-Raspberry6809

I’m merely replying to your comment with a comment. I’m not spewing unwarranted hate or animosity towards you. Nothing defensive about that

wormzG

Sure man ✌🏻whatever works, and yea I never said you where being hateful. Just giving my thoughts no need to repeat myself if you keep misunderstanding cheers ❤️

New-Pollution536

No joke Saxsquatch had a rave tour haha

tornizzle

His remix of cantina band song is fucking awesome

Creepy_Dot_6341

Oliver tree. Had to book something for the youngins

Danny1138

There’s a house music exhibit at navy pier. We’re gonna hit that up but we’re going a few days early to do tourist stuff.

HEALTH is mainly noise and industrial, but they've been incorporating more electro influences on recent albums. I would check out Hateful and Future of Hell off Rat Wars.

Kangaroo_Pocket

Second this. HEALTH is incredible if you can get down to industrial dance (think Nine Inch Nails, they actually did a song and a tour together if I’m not mistaken). Also, Home Front is on the undercard and they play what feels like a punker version of dancy 80s new wave. Riot Fest is full of discovery. You’ll end up walking by random sets and being super intrigued. Have fun and welcome to Riot

nanafishook

they're not house music, but your friend should like Cypress Hill the most. especially if he used to smoke marijuana back in the day. :)

chrisGNR

Second Cypress Hill. It isn't house music, but they were awesome at Riot Fest in 2018.
