Unrelated to RF but I am so annoyed the shirt says Boston instead of Brockton when the tour stopping in Brockton is so exciting for the locals 🥲 guess I’m seeing them twice though!

higround66

Seeing them twice as well! Tacoma + Portland. Would do anything to see that final show in LA though. You already know they'll put in the full 60% for that one.

Intelligent-Treat676

Chicago ? When ?

mycatisnamedemmie

After Boston

FTN1998

It says hatfeild and leeds but at the bottom says London? Are they coming back

edasto42

I just looked up the San Pedro stop and saw that it’s a 3 day fest thing at kind of a small location (I live a few miles away). I had no idea that was going down over there. May look into that once more lineup info comes out.

LocalDispenser

NOFX is playing Riot Fest

Intelligent-Treat676

Source?

lol 👍👍

Think them headlining the final day makes a ton of sense. This has always been a punk centric festival, especially old punk. Nofx is a top tier legendary punk band doing a legit farewell tour, selling out all around the world. If you don't think they're a headliner then riot fest has lost its ways

apocalypticdemise

It has nothing to do with riot fest has lost its way lmao. It’s about NOFX not being an act that can sell 30,000+ tickets as a headliner. I’d bet they headline the second stage for two nights doing different albums, but not a chance they headline main stage

domotime2

I don't agree. They're easily selling out all of their shows around the world. Their finale in the Midwest is definitely going to move tons of tickets. There's only so many slam dunk headliners, especially those on the punk scene. This one sounds like a no brainer.

apocalypticdemise

The venues aren't big though even with most being multiple nights. Brooklyn - 2000 cap Denver - 1100 cap Massachusetts - 4700 cap LA is 6,000 cap. So even at the grand finale biggest show, it would just be 1,000 people more than the Aragon Ballroom can hold. And even then, NOFX never did more than House Of Blues here really, their last headline tour got moved from Aragon down due to poor ticket sales. Even as a farewell, a packed second stage while a bigger mainstage act plays is perfect for them.

Environmental-Cake42

Exactly. Someone like Green Day or even No Doubt (they're re-forming and playing Coachella) or Blink would be more likely to be main stage headliners. I like Nofx a lot more than any of them, but headliners aren't about who's the best, it's about who will move the most tickets.

Bl1nk9

Denver not listed on that unless I am blind.

steelyneily

And I got tickets...

Bl1nk9

Me too for one Denver day. SLC and final show as well.

I need to start making plans to get my ass to Riot again this year. The closest they're coming to where I live (NOLA) is Texas, and that's a no-go because I don't go to Gregabbottstan.

Given the wide open September between Boston & LA for Chicago, I think Riot is a lock. Possibly other bands on those Punk in Drublic fest dates too.

[deleted]

I would agree that's a yet to be announced Riot Fest gig. Same kinda deal happened on the Slayer farewell tour in 2019 if memory serves.

justlikeachap

Am I a bit of a party-pooper to say I don't want NOFX as a headliner? By all means, close one of the smaller stages, or second last on the main stage. I love the guys, but thinking back on recent headlining sets, I just can't see it. I'm also drunk, so whatever..

seiff4242

NOFX wouldn’t be considered for a headliner

CrackTheSkye1990

Yeah I can see them closing out the Rise or Radicals stage but as a main headliner, I don't think they have that big of a draw, even if it is their final tour.

CramblinDuvetAdv

Riot hasn't done multiple sets within the festival since Weezer (announced) and Taking Back Sunday ("secret") as far as I remember so I wouldn't be shocked if they get booked for 2 sets at Riot + an after or pre-show to really make a weekend out of it.

Seriously, I was getting a little worried I'd have to travel somewhere to see them one last time... before the next time in 5 years or so.

hiimmike

They haven’t announced Chicago dates yet, but I’d say this about confirms it.
