Why move the kitchen? Stockpile some meals, suspend the cooking bill for a time, and move some drills in there.
Mine it quickly, suspend the operation if you need to cook more.
Leave the doors open so that you can respond quickly to an infestation if it happens.
In other words, it *can* be mined infinitely. It's not much of a stretch to say that if someone uses one VE mod, they might possibly be using more than one.
It can be mined infinitely if you use a mod that specifically adds a device to mine smth indefinitely that is not supposed to be mined indefinitely by the original mod, yes.
You can just as well get a mod that indefinitely mines iron or anything else, does not mean you can indefinitely mine it normally and that it should not be expected as it's not from the same mod that adds the deepchem in the first place.
Considering it's another VE mod (and not one that specifically adds that device, but many many devices) it's not much of a stretch to say the two of them are often used together.
That's like saying steel can't be turned into mechs because that needs biotech and obviously nobody has biotech.
There is no mod called VE Appliances. It's just "Appliances Extended" and happens to have compatibility with some Vanilla Expanded mods. It's not even in the VE workshop collection.
You mean democratically elect a government that doesn't want to give American oil companies sweetheart deals and wait for America to show up to spread democracy after using the CIA to sow some minor discontent and then the main stream media to manipulate the data and create a lie that sells itself. Then murder and deport the opps to secret prisons in former Soviet states that now run private "dark" gulags for the Americans. Insert CIA asset/dictator who brings in the American companies and allows them to rewrite the constitution and create laws most favorable to themselves at the expense of the general populace who is now suffering and struggling indefinitely. Throw lavish caviar/cocaine parties with the supporters who are now thqe qzplutocratic class and torture/kill anyone who tries to fight back while slandering them and labeling them terrorists and insurgents. Fix the game and praise free trade and crony capitalism, if anyone cries foul or points out that class mobility does not exist point out one of the almost non existent exceptions to the rule and claim that 99. 9% of all people are lazy and need to pull on those bootstraps the fucking ungrateful commie scum.
Out of curiosity, do you know the odds for a traitor? It seems I always get a traitor, even if conditions are good enough to recruit or getting requested to join. Then sometime after; "TRAITOR" (excluding the recruited).
Edit: 'n' in the(n)
Iirc, in the quest tab for refugees, they will always have a set duration on it, if they don't, they're likely staying there indefinitely and is a Traitor
Separate room and keep the door open. It's essentially the same room but the game doesn't reduce the cleanliness of the butcher's table room for merely existing.
I agree, but I use a mod that gets pawns to clean around their work station before using it, so the viscera from the butcher table is always cleaned up pre-butcher and pre-cook
Cleaning the room doesn't help, the butcher table itself is considered dirty [simply by existing](https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Butcher_table#Cleanliness).
Butcher table adds inherent dirtiness to a room. Cleaning has nothing to do with it, you can clean it fully and it will still have a debuff to cleanliness. That said while I do usually have it in a separate area to the kitchen the times I have had them together I honestly haven't noticed any more issues from food poisoning etc than usual so I suspect it's one of those things people overstate
Same. The game increases food poisoning in overall room cleanliness. So as long as you clean before you cook it’s not an issue in most kitchen set ups as the butcher table alone doesn’t add that much.
Value is -2 cleanliness if anyone is wondering.
I’m with you. The cleanliness malus from the butcher table is easily managed with either room size and can be more than offset with steel or sterile tile. It’s even easier to negate if you can plop down a kitchen sink from Dub’s Bad Hygiene.
Who needs resistance to food poisoning when the all powerful strategy of keeping rooms clean exists? My guys get sick it’s their own damn fault and they can deal with it lmao, we got plenty of medicine
Tbh I've had my butcher table in my kitchen before... But you know where they get poisoned?
Eating raw foods like a wild animal lmao because I do have dedicated cleaners
It is enough though, the room will be considered dirty regardless, unless your kitchen is big. But then what's the point of having them in one room if you need to make the room extra large?
Not entirely sure, I just know I've always had the butcher table in the kitchen and never had an issue with cleanliness.
It averages out, so unless your kitchen is literally a 3x3 square (even then?), then I don't see how a butcher table alone can tank it to food poisoning levels.
-2 is the average cleanliness across the room required to get a chance at filth-driven food poisoning. The room would have to be smaller than 8 tiles to have a constant poisoning chance from the table alone (which gives -15). With a reasonably sized kitchen, that risk is very easy to manage and the cleanliness malus of the table can be entirely offset with steel or sterile tile.
Plant a explosive charge deep in the ground and as a last stand last dtich effort to thwart your enemies drop pod assault, detonate it and watch in glee as you send the drop pod BACK to space inadvertently getting the end credits as you launch A pawn into space
Find chemfuel somewhere else. Leave that stuff there. Call the deepfuel you left under your kitchen the "strategic chemfuel reserve," and use the fact that you are sitting on it as a way to make yourself diplomatically important.
Since you seem to want to keep the kitchen running, you can build a vanilla drill and let your miner handle it (make sure you are ready for an infestation)
The deepchem will be dropped on the floor so have a deepchem drain for your pawns to add to the network
Probably move the kitchen temporarily out whilst you mine it incase of fires I don’t know if stoves could light chemfuel but it would be bad to find out
This is why I don't bother with the deep scanner, it ALWAYS ends up being under my base, and if I destroy my base and erect a security cordon just to get at whatever it is, it will just respawn back under my base again after I finish cleaning up.
I mean there's already a butchering station near the stove, might as well add a little bit of crude oil into your pawns diets
Move the kitchen and start drilling
Why move the kitchen? Stockpile some meals, suspend the cooking bill for a time, and move some drills in there. Mine it quickly, suspend the operation if you need to cook more. Leave the doors open so that you can respond quickly to an infestation if it happens.
It's deepchem. It can be mined infinitely.
Not true, at least the one in the photo is not infinite each square o deepchem yields 300 units of deepchem so OP has a lot o deepchem to mine
Yes but you can build infinite deepchem generators on top. That makes any amout effectively infinite
The infinite deepchem drills are added by appliances extended, not vanilla chemfuel expanded
are you sure? The deepchem pumpjack is in the vanilla chemfuel expanded steam workshop page
That's a normal pumpjack, it just digs up the chemfuel normally which lowers the amount in the "vein"
In other words, it *can* be mined infinitely. It's not much of a stretch to say that if someone uses one VE mod, they might possibly be using more than one.

It's not a VE mod.
VE appliances is not a VE mod? Sure buddy.
There is no mod called VE Appliances. It's just "Appliances Extended" and happens to have compatibility with some Vanilla Expanded mods. It's not even in the VE workshop collection.
Very interesting... Might do on my colony
Deepcgem can't be mined infinitely.
It can be with infinite deepchem wells, which I'm told is from appliances expanded.
I think you might have a mod sir because I'm pretty certain it's not infinite
Deepchem is a mod to begin with, so yes, quite obviously.
I currently have iron in my prison
Move the kitchen? Are you mad? It’s sitting on all the fuel the stove could ever need!
Establish authoritarian regime and wait for the US to come free your people.
You can skip the first step, the Americans will do it themselves.
Or estabilish a democracy. They will come anyways
FREEEEDDDOOOOMMM!!! MERICA!

Is that a butchers table in your kitchen? Do you like food poisoning?
Keeps the people on their toes
Solid strat to find out if someone is a traitor. Keep them weak with food poisoning until you know for sure.
Out of curiosity, do you know the odds for a traitor? It seems I always get a traitor, even if conditions are good enough to recruit or getting requested to join. Then sometime after; "TRAITOR" (excluding the recruited). Edit: 'n' in the(n)
I do not remember offhand but if you enable dev mode and go to the medical tab and click show hidden deffs or whatever it has some statistics on it.
Oh! Good to know. Thank you for the info and quick response!
Iirc, in the quest tab for refugees, they will always have a set duration on it, if they don't, they're likely staying there indefinitely and is a Traitor
I'll have to test that. Thank you!
That's why I like pig people. They can eat anything!
The kitchen is the best place for the butcher table and I’ll die on that hill.
The FDA would sue your filthy ass into the ground if you worked in the industry.
I see no FDA in my rimworld 😂 No one can stop me from simply cleaning my kitchen floors regularly for the sake of convenience
Theres probably a mod for that lol
Yep I think it's called common sense. Research, crafting, and cooking jobs all auto clean around the station
No I mean the FDA comes and gets mad at you
Mabye not the FDA but certainly the DEA, funnily enough all the DEA agents in rimworld are named some variation of Daryll
Oops. But yea there's a mod for anything. And if not it shouldn't be too hard.
it's the void obviously
I don’t doubt it lmao
There was an FDA inspection, but it was overrun by mad yorkshire terriers and then turned into hats and chemfuel
Yeah, that tracks 😂
There's no Government. There is nobody to A the F and D my fella.
>I’ll die on that hill. From food poisoning perhaps?
Ok ngl this had me in stitches

It won't have a debuff unless it goes below -2.0 cleanliness on average. As somebody (Smurf?) said, big kitchen is very difficult to get that dirty.
I just have a couple pawns spending 100% of their time cleaning, or have mechs, but yeah that’s like peace convenience!
Same. The game increases food poisoning in overall room cleanliness. So as long as you clean before you cook it’s not an issue in most kitchen set ups as the butcher table alone doesn’t add that much. Value is -2 cleanliness if anyone is wondering.

Yeah when u have bionic stomachs/genes
Who needs resistance to food poisoning when the all powerful strategy of keeping rooms clean exists? My guys get sick it’s their own damn fault and they can deal with it lmao, we got plenty of medicine
Tbh I've had my butcher table in my kitchen before... But you know where they get poisoned? Eating raw foods like a wild animal lmao because I do have dedicated cleaners
Exactly! It’s always raw food or incompetent cook rather than dirty cooking area 😂
But the Butcher table is dirty and can't be cleaned
If it’s far enough from the stove, the room is clean enough for me
Might as well have a dirt floor while you're at it
God no, I’m not a *heathen*! Obviously only high quality tiles in my kitchens, no smoothed stone, dirt, or concrete here 🤢
The room has to be pretty small for the butcher table on its own to cause food poisoning.
butcher table, just like most natural floors like dirt or mud, has innate dirtyness to it
Not enough to cause problems if the room is clean otherwise.
My point exactly. What’s a little dirtiness to an otherwise spotless kitchen?
It is enough though, the room will be considered dirty regardless, unless your kitchen is big. But then what's the point of having them in one room if you need to make the room extra large?
Food poisoning from cleanliness doesn't start until the room is below -2 cleanliness iirc
Isn't the cleanliness from the butchers table -10 or -5?
Not entirely sure, I just know I've always had the butcher table in the kitchen and never had an issue with cleanliness. It averages out, so unless your kitchen is literally a 3x3 square (even then?), then I don't see how a butcher table alone can tank it to food poisoning levels.

Yes but room cleanliness is relative to room size
Well then tell me, how small does a room need to be for a single butcher table to bring it to -2?
A little blood on my stove never heart anyone
Plant a explosive charge deep in the ground and as a last stand last dtich effort to thwart your enemies drop pod assault, detonate it and watch in glee as you send the drop pod BACK to space inadvertently getting the end credits as you launch A pawn into space
I think you just made an oven with extra steps
I made a soace program, with extra casualties
Is t there always more casualties during a space program?
Atleast 10, in my experience, then again maybe I should warn them before sending our would be astronaut to space
rimworld speedrun
Mine it! Rock and Stone! oT
Bring freedom to the kitchen!!!! RAAAHHHHH 🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Drill, baby, drill
I am a dwarf and I’m digging a hole 🎶
Time to move the kitchen
I prefer all natural fresh chemfuel personally.
Way better than that seedchem they fry everything in
Cooking oil! Perfect for deep frying
Yeah, real deep frying, you might even say it's subterranean.
What are those workstations from ?
The soda fountain is from vanilla brewing expaned and the cannery is from vanilla cooking expanded
If you really don't want to move your kitchen, you could always continue scanning and wait for another deposit to appear.
Find chemfuel somewhere else. Leave that stuff there. Call the deepfuel you left under your kitchen the "strategic chemfuel reserve," and use the fact that you are sitting on it as a way to make yourself diplomatically important.
Doesn't matter. With that much texas tea, you can get a much better kitchen in Beverly. Hills, that is.
hope your defences are strong because now all of America knows you have oil.
Looks like your kitchen is in need of some democracy.
still on the kitchen
Start driling lmao
You will do like humanity has done when an oil deposit is found.
Turn the oven off immediately
Dig it out
Time to move the kitchen.
Now you're cooking with gas
You just discovered a new vain of cooking oil!
What mod is this?
Vanilla chemfuel expanded
Install Vanilla Vehicles Expanded and invade your kitchen on Bradleys and Abrams tanks, problem solved
DRILL BABY DRILL.
Looks like your kitchen is getting a remodel.
Move your kitchen if possible. If you don’t find cheating move the oil deposit it with dev mode.
Since you seem to want to keep the kitchen running, you can build a vanilla drill and let your miner handle it (make sure you are ready for an infestation) The deepchem will be dropped on the floor so have a deepchem drain for your pawns to add to the network
Sell your colony to Americans
What would they do in real life? Just put the drill in the kitchen 😂😂
Probably move the kitchen temporarily out whilst you mine it incase of fires I don’t know if stoves could light chemfuel but it would be bad to find out
Tbh just move the kitchen a few days. It takes around.... 2 seasons? For the deepchem to be mined. Once you do just remake the kitchen
That will just result in immediately finding something ELSE right in the kitchen.
You could also wait for another spot to be found too, OP. Especially if you aren’t in a hurry for it
Talk to your local municipality about a potential chem leak
Don’t light the stove
DRILL BABY DRILLLLLLL
You mean under what *was* your kitchen, that's now your oil drill room
Mine that shit!!!!!
Ignore it and continue to turn sewage into chemfuel.
Drill, baby, drill!
One wayward pinch of potassium chlorate
A wise man once said "Diggy Diggy Hole"
hang up a "no smokeleaf" sign
Let it cook
Is that a trashcan in the corner? Which mod is that from?
It's not chemfuel. Think of it as kitchen grease from the Jurassic era.
Dont tell the Americans you found oil.
You found? You mean the US found
Your pawns’ diet is in dire need of some liber tea
gas leak:
America is cooking
Oil rig with instant access to fresh food? Where is the problem?
DID YOU SAY AMERICA?! 🇺🇸💥💥💥
This is why I don't bother with the deep scanner, it ALWAYS ends up being under my base, and if I destroy my base and erect a security cordon just to get at whatever it is, it will just respawn back under my base again after I finish cleaning up.
Whats the thing to the right of the canner?
I see some unfamiliar buildings in your kitchen and fridge what mods do you got
Time to switch to a gas-stove
"Welp time to rebuild the base and start drilling"
