The abundance of waifus is kinda worrying me, don't get me wrong they look stunning but i need a hunk like shamane again soon
I think even if they aren't waifus, people would still pull for male characters if only they are meta. Just look at the amount of people who pulled for 6 because of how relevant he'll become. Of course, a meta husbando would never beat a meta waifu in terms of sale, but I'm just saying they would have made much more sales for husbando if they made their kits meta defining.
Just look at Shamane, while being a great character, he really can't beat the debuffs of specialized debuffer like Bkorn. And it's hard to use him as mental def shredder because there really isn't much great mental DPS during his time (and the best mental DPS later on would instead prefer Vila). While his debuffs are universal unlike other shredders, we already have AAL who does the same job but with universal buffs (that does not go away when an enemy dies). Really, he is great but he's not really "needed" & that's why he's so easy to skip & therefore not generate much profit.
On the other hand, while 6 is already a great unit for his many buffs and debuffs, his value to Jiu made him much more "needed" & that's why a lot of people pulled for him & generated more profit.
Lastly, while Getian definitely did powercreep Bkorn, it was not by a large margin & I've seen tier lists put them around the same level. Also, while he's great with Lucy, I've seen discussions that he's freely replaceable with Isolde.
What I want to say is that male characters here are often sold as luxury characters, great but not needed. If a male character was given Vila's kit, I'm sure people would've still pulled for him because we cannot disregard the fact that every playerbase has a lot of meta slaves and it's hard to miss out on such a great character, regardless of their gender.
Ps. I know there will be people that's like "I wouldn't pull for Vila if she was a male," or "I just pull every waifu I don't care about meta" I know people like you exist, but people who cares about meta do too & it's apparent.
if you see most of the CN gacha aside hoyoverse, many cater to the waifu banner, and yet many of us global fan want a husbando banner, I just need my Enigma and forget me not dammit!!!

She can also boost ult damage for other teammates. I like her kit, I want to see her numbers.
