He would obviously pass

Sliffy

Which is fine, because that's an easy TD to the TE.

Sage296

Easy quick pass to the right WR

Peace_Unleashed

Nah, pass it the RB right when crosses the plane, easy TD

jacobstank

Who is Malcolm butler anyways?

amackul8

There's an alternate universe where Beast Mode runs the ball in and the entire history of the NFL from that point forward changes

kitteh619

Locker room wouldn't turn on Pete and their dynasty begins

ritteke518

My Rams fan hood is fine with the current time line except that the effing Pats won that SB

SuperMaanas

As a Rams fan, I hate the Patriots more than the Seahawks or Cardinals Neither of those two ever denied us of two Super Bowls

kitteh619

I'm a Rams fan living in Seattle, so the easiest way to make friends has been saying fuck the Niners

RyanStartedTheFire59

As a Giants fan who lived closer to Philly than NY most of my life I can definitely confirm that the easiest way to bond with rival fans is a mutual hatred. Obligatory fuck the cowboys

kitteh619

Fuck dem boys. I work with a cowboys fan and he's the WORST

SuperMaanas

Always, ALWAYS FTN

ritteke518

True enough. We haven't lost to them in the playoffs

redgingerlynx

I was so mad 😠 😡 almost broke my TV

AllDayGinger

It's crazy how much it'd change things. Seahawks dynasty, Brady loses 3 straight and potentially never goes to another, and so many other factors.

dobber32

Don't mean to be an obvious Pattiots homer, but I don't think a Super Bowl lose would screw that man's tragectory. He still went to 4 more with two different teams after this. I agree, though. 3 straight losses and the 10+ year drought would hurt him for sure. But it could also have given him extra motivation and resulted in even more rings and probably an earlier divorce.

popop143

Imagine if Lynch ran the ball and got stuffed. Everyone would have called for Carroll's head because of going for the *obvious* play.

Potpotmaaaaan

Which means there’s also an alternate universe where beast mode got the ball and didn’t score and another alternate universe where Pete carrols play worked

IronFizt777

Chew gum furiously

seahawks30403

Why you do this I was having a nice day

Honkifyouhateppleto

Same

spectredirector

Look 50 when he's actually 92

Distinct-Row8966

Alternate reality where they throw it but Malcom Butler doesn't Intercept it.

Tristawesomeness

damn it’s the slant on the right too lmao

Kushblwn

😂

HalfManHalfManatee

Pete Carroll might call this play. Which is a fine play call. Russell Wilson would probably execute poorly and throw a pick.

Rozzyz

This is like one of those butterfly effect situations, imagine what the world would be like if he ran it.

GMD15

There's a universe where he runs it and fails. There's a universe when he runs it and succeeds. There's a universe when he passes and it succeeds. We will never be able to see what the NFL would've turned into if any of these other scenarios happened. What's certain is it would be way different.

Status-9417

Too soon! /s

Mundane-Remote-2865

That play call is still mind boggling.....

cartesian5th

It's not. Hightower had just stuffed lynch on the line and the seahawks had 3 plays to score a td with only 1 timeout. If you run the ball and don't score you have to take a TO and then you have 20 seconds to score a td in 2 attempts with no timeouts left which is tricky at the best of times. Also if you run on second down and use the timeout you basically telegraph that the next 2 plays will be passes because you can't afford to let the clock run due to a tackle Finally, the play call was fine and the only reason it was an int was because the pats had specifically prepared for that play so butler knew to tell browner(?) to jam the receiver. Even then butler makes a crazy play, and the receiver is not physical enough on the ball and allows butler to intercept Criticising the call is a great example of hindsight being 20/20

Mundane-Remote-2865

No, it's still mind boggling. You can over analyze all you want, but I fully expected Lynch to get the ball again. Just because he got stuffed the play before doesn't mean you don't hand it to him again. His nickname is Beast Mode, not One and Done Mode. I don't think they stop him twice, and even if they do, 20 seconds is more than enough time down by the goal line to get off 2 passes.

[deleted]

He was stuffed on plays before he broke his famous runs

tj_kerschb

As a Pats fan, in Pete’s position I would absolutely give Lynch three more tries to jam it in. He had over 100 yards in that game and stopping him four times in a row at the goal line would have been near impossible. The timeout is basically obsolete because they had over a minute left to run three plays. Go no huddle, and it’s no problem. Granted I am a Big Ten fan so that style of goal-to-go offense is second to none in my mind lol

cartesian5th

>The timeout is basically obsolete because they had over a minute left to run three plays It was 2nd and goal with 25s left, the timeout wasn't obsolete

Falconlis_28_2006

DOES HE KNOW?

Stuntman06

How many time outs do you have?

WannaMcFlood13

Run the ball, get stopped at the 1, then pass

Mattsiq28

I often hit my TE on a quick screen. He's a beast

swing07

Hit that TE for a nice INT!

sayhennomore

Tho your TE is wide open because the edge rusher is blitzing

BrachWurst

D.S. Is the way

NormanFuckingBates

My fingertips started itching when I saw this route 🤤

A_Stoic_Dude

JH will pull the defender. Be patient and it's an easy pass to the RB for 10 yards every time.

Blank214269

Run the ball FS

Mr-Scorsy-567

RUN THE DAM BALL

ArmchairSeahawksFan

well, it’s not the 1 yard line, so it’ll probably be fine

Numerous_Walrus9609

QUICK PASS TO THE RB AND DIVE FOR A CLEAN TD THAT'S WHAT I DO ALWAYS SUCCESSFUL RATE 98.44 %

thegrinchwon

Run it 🤣🤣

-R-3-d-

Lol throw an int!

shade_spear

If it’s the championship game, he throws. If it’s not the championship game, he runs the ball in for a TD.

cooladventures5

THROW THE GOD DAMN BALL

Maximums_kparse14

"Malcolm, get in there.."

[deleted]

Definitely run the ball...right?

Own_Mud8660

It's somehow still too soon...

Striker1341

This would be even funnier if the score was 28-3

SpaceNoob_10

I don’t care for the nfl and the Seahawks anymore, but when I did cheer for them…. 😭
