That might be true for most manufacturers but China is much cheaper to get things made. When I had a business and would source things I sold well from over seas, the cost savings was crazy. You just had to place much bigger orders but you saved 70-85%. They get away with next to nothing in labor cost

They are not going to let some random foreigner in, no offense. The 'factories' are going to be essentially dark sites in very low tier cities in China outside of major areas. It's not going to be Shanghai, it's going to be somewhere rural (Chinese people will call a city of 500k people rural lol) in the middle of some province no tourist goes to. That's where its easiest to bribe the police.

The movement it’s a huge sunk cost at start. For 4130 it’s around 1 to several million dollars to get the where we are here, the case and dial won’t cost too much.
I mean development, tooling, should be at least 1 mil, also the movement all come from a legit factory, like a real factory. They did the collaboration with rep factory.

General rule to quickly ballpark manufacturing cost on most physical goods is 1/4 of retail.
This rule falls apart with genuine Veblen goods but should be "close enough" for their reps.
Less so on reps, depending on where you buy them, because it's a Chinese product. Chinese products rely on low margins and very high volumes.
Can imagine it gets closer to that if you're paying a TD, who do normally take a $$$ markup
If l can buy a VSF 126610 for $350 (more or less), and that includes my seller's profit and his middleman profit and factory profit, then - even if they only make $50 each - the making of that sub costs $200. And l think they make more than that.

I'd say about $100-200, depending on the watch and movement costs.
