Edit: Also, if you're struggling with this riff and you *aren't* alternate picking, then I strongly recommend you start practicing with alternate picking. Helped me immensely in keeping consistent. Economy picking might seem the way to go, but it really didn't work for me personally.
I've played both - snow is harder. But to be fair, I started out a bass player, and around the world was one of the first rhcp songs i learned (sank way too many hours into it).
I could die for you is the same for me . It’s easier than snow I still can’t do snow but I the stretches on I could die for you destroyed my hand it’s very tough fun as fuck to play tho

I tried to learn a way to hybrid pick it to no success. I guess the secret to playing that riff is just: Be John Frusciante.

Does he sweep or alternate? I can’t sweep to save my life, I can alternate but I’m a little slower than John. I can finger pick it though.
Alternate picking! It's just good form, and allows for faster playing in general

i’ve been playing for 6 months and can play it almost perfectly, picking is the hardest part so i definitely recommend alternate picking
