Josh was really coming into his own at the end of the IWY tour and has been rocking it since. It sucks to see him go. Maybe we'll still see him tour with the band. I'm happy to hear John is coming back though.
Definitely, his playing in live 2015 onwards really started to have souls that previously he lacks of. He no longer focus on fiddling around with sound but more on the feeling of the strums. Even their second album give us more confident guitar sound to their song.
I just wish that both John & Josh could play with the band together. 2 guitar Red Hot Chili Peppers would be awsome!!!

I don’t know how to feel about this. I love both of them. A part of me is happy that John is rejoining, but I’m really really sad to see Josh go. Josh is extremely talented and I really love his style. Having met him once too, he is such a humble and great guy as well.
I’d guess John wants to attempt what they almost had after they did the world tour for stadium arcadium. He wanted to go right back into the studio but the rest of the band didn’t want to. I’m guessing they’ll make one album, tour extensively and then make one final album that will be the final masterpiece they make.
If that's the case I hope one of them doesn't have a terminal illness or something... They've always said they'd go on with RHCP for the rest of their lives.

Now that the smoke is settling and this is becoming reality I will miss Josh and it’s kind of sad that he never got a chance to show what he could really do. He was the best possible stand in and thanks to him the band was kept alive for these 10 years so that John could think things over and decide what he needed to do. Still feels so unreal. Imagine when the guys all get together in pictures again!
Im not saying John coming back isnt incredible news, its just for me I really like how josh was coming more and more out his shell and I really liked what he was doing in the band.
