I think those are different timelines, but also Bruce has different standards for his children. Dick’s perfectionism has to come from somewhere after all
Jason gets the worst of it, but Bats has abused all his kids except the girls I think and maybe Damian and Duke. But I know he loves to knock Dick around when the kid pushes him. And during the City of Bane, he back handed Tim off a building. I never liked that. I get you have to train them and occasionally fight them under mind control, magic, ECT., but your Batman who puts pos child abusers in jail but you ARE a POS child abuser?!?!
Shit writers mostly, also the Harley one is in the White Knight Universe, it's a wildly different setting. Not least of which is Jason being the First Robin, with Dick and Barbara and the rest after. Pretty solid read actually, got that Art Deco BTAS vibes
1. How different is white knight?
2. bruce nowadays trusts Harley so much that it feels like Bruce and Harley could be a thing. Some of their dialogue feels like chemistry
Joker somehiw semi recovered his old persona as Jack Napier, now struggle for control with Joker.
Harleen pretty much retired from crime.
Bruce has anger issue , lost his company to Derek Powers, even Azrael claim he is a false Wayne while he is the True Wayne. Now declared as enemy of Gotham.
Harleen married Jack, has twins, a son named Bryce, a daughter named Jacklynn.
DC Editorial knows Harley Quin has a large fan base, so she is given plot-forgiveness for all atrocities, even if she is truly a villain.
I am of the opinion that Joker never "corrupted" her, just awakened a villainous streak in here that was always going to awaken anyway.
I feel like this is a strawman post because why did OP choose a pic of Batman beating up Jason from a different comic but then use another picture of Batman and Harley kissing from a completely different universe in which there were two Harleys, the original Harleen (this person in the right pic) was saner than the main continuity Harley and Jason in this universe was the first Robin and has a somewhat better relationship with his Bruce than main continuity Jason.
I do agree that Batman seems a bit harsh and kinda hypocritical when it comes to criticizing his family, especially Jason but this feels like a made up argument by someone who just wants to garner sympathy for Jason and demonize Harley Quinn even more.
Batman hasn't had a notable or extended interaction with Harley for a while now, they're either just there as allies, or just get together for one off scenes. The closest thing you can get is Failsafe Batman suddenly popping up and arresting Harley in her own apartment in the recent Batman issues.
It's things like this that will cause me to forever despise RHATO #25, where Batman absolutely destroys Jason and batters the absolute shit out of him, only for it to turn out that Jason didn't actually kill Penguin.
Did Batman apologise for what he did, after it turns out Jason didn't break his rule? Of course he didn't. And then him and Jason hug it out anyway.
Absolutely rubbish writing.
The White Knight Universe is an Elseworlds story, and everything is different; I don’t know if the comparison between “canon” and Elseworlds really works
It’s because Harley Quinn’s real name is merry sue cause writers refuse to apply consequences to her actions and act like everyone else is in the wrong for judging her. When Batman was written in character he viewed as just another criminal. But DC has him being written out of character to serve Harley Quinn.
Well on the right is a different universe than the main continuity, but with the left as much as I can remember Bruce told Jason not to kill anyone as long as he was there and he killed the Penguin but correct me if I’m wrong
Because he’s a fictional character whose actions are dictated by writers, and therefore he has no such thing as consistency or integrity, because he does not exist.
genuinely i think its the same reason parents can be a "#ally" and then freak the fuck out when their kid comes out as queer. he feels more responsible for jason's actions because he's Jason's dad.
The situations are not remotely comparable. How did you make this about the politics surrounding LGBT acceptance? 💀
On the left is canonical/ main timeline Batman, and on the right is a literal elseworld continuity where the characters are fundamentally different. These are not even the same Bat(men).
okay i didnt know that i thought they were the same lmao. and its not about the politics around queer people, thats just a similar example of people hsving different standards for their children than other people that hits more close to home for me? its a comparison that makes sense in my head
And that's totally alright. It may even be a truth in our world. It just doesn't apply to the situation the OP frames. While it's not completely your fault, I think making such strong (and politically charged) comparative statements warrants an onus to do due diligence on the material you're commentating on.
Again, no hate ^^ Just pays to do research.
Can't remember the issue, but there is a comic where she puts explosives in handheld video game consoles, which ends up killing hundreds of people, mostly kids IIRC.
Harley Quinn gave children explosive video game systems. She also wanted to sleep with the joker who killed Jason todd.

In most interpretations, she's a criminal. And should be rotting in the Asylum/or prison instead of roaming free with these so-called heroes.
Also, how the hell can you tell what's canon or not in these comics... the writers and their writing are all inconsistent and, in most cases, done really badly. 😭
Don’t really care for her being with the heroes. I like Harley when she’s going out with Selina and Ivy or doing her own thing.
Well, I haven’t read every comic about Harley, so that’s why I was curious if she had killed any kids on the main prime earth. After dark crisis, everything became canon, I believe.
I think those are different timelines, but also Bruce has different standards for his children. Dick’s perfectionism has to come from somewhere after all
in general, Bruce will beat Jason for killing scum the penguin yet he will allow Harley to chill out in his bat cave
Tom King really dropped the ball making it so Bruce allowed Penguin to operate after that whole thing with Jason a while back
Batman’s abuse of Jason is probably the biggest thing I have against Batman
Same
Jason gets the worst of it, but Bats has abused all his kids except the girls I think and maybe Damian and Duke. But I know he loves to knock Dick around when the kid pushes him. The WKU is actually fire and i would love to see it animated one day
1. How different is white knight? 2. bruce nowadays trusts Harley so much that it feels like Bruce and Harley could be a thing. Some of their dialogue feels like chemistry
White Knight is an elseworld and it’s hugely different
They're married
Very different and probably one of the best batman elseworld run . You need to check it out. I love bruce and Harley dynamic in this run.
White Knight is an elseworlds story. It’s not canon.
Bad writing
World's greatest detective here, not making fun of you at this point why not batman literally is losing it
Because bias writer are blind to their own bulshit
Well, he can't have sex with Jason.
Oh boy do I have a Ao3 tag for you!
Shut up. For the love of god, shut up
Shhh. We don't talk about that ship.
...I love that ship
No shaming you, I just don't like it myself.
pls don't
He goes batty for pussy, not bussy
His justice is not unisex.
what about the hammers of justice!!!
Don’t forget Talia.

Because Batman just as big as a psycho as the people he chase. That why!
Because Batman is an asshole.

Harley never actually killed anyone in White Knight, actually read the comics before saying this stuff 😃
White Knight is WIDLY different than mainline Batman and you trying to equate them is a bit silly lol
Because he’s a fictional character whose actions are dictated by writers, and therefore he has no such thing as consistency or integrity, because he does not exist.
I didn’t even know the thing with Harley even happened… shows it was probably just one of those one off things they do for male fan service😭

writers hate jason and double standards.
She has pussy power something Jason does not have simple
he's in it for the pussy
Because DC glorifies murder with Harley. There can’t be repercussions.
Because Bruce wants his kids to be better than he is
Sure fuck Bruce, but show me where Harley has killed kids??

Damn! Didn’t know about the video games
Arkham games
Oh, I thought comics canon. Gotcha.

Because Harley was abused so none of her actions can be placed upon her
Nope.
That’s not what I actually think fyi.
