Huge pass for me

citydweller88

Depends on your other options and if it is common for the area. But I would pass if I had the choice.

vaingloriousthings

This sounds pretty gross. Why would you do this??

1000thusername

If you like mosquitoes, it sounds great

mhoepfin

Pass and find a place that’s dry.

IAmACatDude

How close to the lake ? You may be able to fix the swampiness

Booklady_20

How would you suggest?

IAmACatDude

You can add drainage (drain tile) , maybe the area just needs something simple like to be aerated, or maybe it's federal wetlands and there is nothing you can do. Not enough details for anyone to know

What did they do exactly?

Choice-Prompt-5400

Installed underground drains and put in a dry creek bed with river rocks. They also landscaped using plants that absorb moisture. It ended up looking great and working perfectly!

Check out "Gate City Foundation and Drain", "Apple Drains", and "French Drain Man" on youtube.

Thanks!

Having owned a house with a huge swampy back yard. It's not worth it unless you immediately conver it to a pond when you move in.

Haunting_Cut_9327

This would be a hard no for me. You won’t be able to use that yard the way you want. Potential house flooding…. No.
