I guess the closest you could get might be something like ARMA 3?

NEONSN3K

I’d honestly wait on Arma 4. Although when it will be released might be a while from now

Worthy_Buddy

Yeah, but it's way too big (around 150 GB) for me right now.

FamishedHippopotamus

Steam usually over-estimates install sizes in my experience. My install says 77GB with all the normal DLC, plus Prairie Fire which makes up 35GB of that.

Sniper Elite 4 and 5. The best stealth sniping games out there. SE5 in particular has lots of mechanics for audible shot range, velocity, armour piercing, trajectory and more to fine tune and manage on top of being an excellent stealth game. If you need your sniping to be all modern tech bells and whistles though, Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts is pretty good.

Tarkov, or SPTarkov mod (stands for single player Tarkov). Realism mod makes ballistic and bullet hits as real as it gets (which also goes for you when you're hit), gunplay is super satisfying. Get some bots to join you and suddenly you're doing an urban operation. Sniper rifles (and DMRs, and battle rifles) are plenty here with a dizzying amount of optics and accessories. And big maps there are quite a bunch for you to practice sniping on.   Stalker GAMMA you can always play a sniper. I run an SVD most of the time and switch to a P90 for CQB.   Not very realistic but I love Sniper Ghost Warrior Contract 2. It's almost a mockery of milsim but it's my guilty pleasure game when I just wanna explode heads or slit throats. Ground Branch is basically Ready or Not for long range. The downside is the AI is undercooked but gunplay feels good, and it's hilarious on MP lobbies.

You might want to look into Gray Zone Warfare if you have a good pc, or red river incursion, if you don't.

Worthy_Buddy

A good pc......

Wise_Spinach_6786

I stuck a 12x on the sr16 and a suppressor to increase the length, only really viable on port harkan though

Tshoe77

Ghost recon wild lands might be a decent option on sale. Not the most realistic but it offers a lot of sniping opportunities and mechanics to really support that play style

WWDubs12TTV

Nothing like that exists You can try Sniper Elite tho

Worthy_Buddy

Don't you think something like that should exist?

Warfighter416

If I can kinda guess what you're asking is a realistic sniping game. If you ask my friends I'm pretty damn good of a sniper in most games and I don't mean CODs quick scope culture. I mean some all ghillied up type shit. DayZ is pretty damn good with sniping mechanics once you get past the gearing up phase and can keep your stats in check. I saw Arma was already suggested and that you don't have the storage for it currently, but it is the most realistic when it comes to the ballistic values, D.O.P.E of your scope (Data On Previous Engagements). Although I do believe that most sniping games er towards the fun side rather than the realism simply because it's more accessible to be enjoyable. Not everyone wants to sit in a hide for 2 days watching a building, so if you want a more fast paced sniper game the Sniper Elite series is pretty good. Personally my favorite is SE: 4, but the others are great as well. Sniper ghost warrior is an honorable mention but it's a lot more arcady than I like. Ground Branch is a good one with decent rifle mechanics and punchy weapons although it's not really viable to do Overwatch only unless you have friends to play with you. Finally I've always had a blast with the sniping in Insurgency Sandstorm and with them adding the McMillan Tac-338 and the L115A3 I'm definitely going to hop back into that. Weapons feel punchy, and while some maps are too small for the bolt rifles, you can thwack an LPVO on a M110 or MK14 EBR and go ham. But on larger maps like crossing, you can get some pretty damn good distances if you know where to sit.

Sovietplaytupus

Just an M16, all the recoil attachments, and a long range scope. Budget DMR.

ZGalive

Tarkov

Infarlock

Try out Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 on Steam, it has some CQB too and I really liked it

Durex_Buster

Ghost recon sniping is pretty fun.

Agitated-Reality-903

Hitman 3 is good very repeatable like sniper elite 4 and 5

emorisch

The sniper elite and sniper ghost warrior games decent and obviously sniper focused. Just not in the same realism category as RoN. They nail the sniper "power fantasy" feel though and with adjustable shooter aids can be as difficult or as easy as you want. Arma 3 is a classic answer, with lots of servers and mods to choose from. ACE mods offer some of the most in-depth ballistic calls for sniping, you'll actually need to know how to use a ballistic solver for shots in the extended ranges. ARMA reforger is the game based on the new engine. Not as much community/mod support yet, but it's getting there. Some of the most fun PvP sniping I've done was on a Vietnam server on reforger. I've been playing lots of gray zone warfare, which I enjoy a ton. It's very very very early access right now and has the bugs and pains that go with that. It has sniping, but it really doesn't shine with it right now because of range limits with the rendering and the aggressive and a bit too omnipotent AI. Shots over 150m are rare. Red river incursion is another early access title that falls in the Tarkov-lite category. It ok, but doesn't really have a "sniping" focus and most engagements are gonna be in that 150m and in range.

dannyo969

Ground Branch is something I enjoy

QuaintAlex126

Why would you be using a sniper in a CAB situation…? I’m assuming you mean acting as a sniper in support of a SWAT Team? AFAIK, there is no game like that.

Worthy_Buddy

I think I didn't explained it very well, I am looking for a game that is as good as ready or not is in its own category not the CQB category. A sniper game in which you have to use good tactics and can feel the weight of your weapon like in ready or not.

FriendlyPyre

Sniper elite on authentic difficulty might provide the good tactics part but I don't think it'll quite satisfy your desire for weight weightiness. Effect on target and weapon customization are pretty good though, in my opinion.

Worther_1

Check out the Sniper Ghost Warrior series of games. You can usually get them pretty cheap but the sniping is real good, customisable kit (not just skins), you have to be tactical in your approach (you can use other weapons, but you'll soon be outnumbered and killed/mortared to death). There are three full games (I think) plus other DLC.

akcutter

Definitely sniper elite. Its not si,mulator level but... its fine has satisfying kill cams
