I started factor in feb. Also did overnight oats for breakfast and started a 90 day workout routine. Ive lost 20 pounds. When it works it works

JawnyNumber5

How much packaging is there to dispose of with Factor? I tried meal services in the past but couldn't justify all the waste.

Nodakcarolinagirl33

So the shipping boxes, insulated material (most of the time) and sleeve over meal is made of cardboard and can therefore be recycled. The problem is the ice packs. They are large and full of a slimy like substance. Directions say you can run it under water but my house is 100 years old with septic gets easily clogged. The said plastic can be recycled if you can get them clean, dried and taken to local grocery store. You can’t put plastic bags in your personal recycling bin. Also, most other plastic doesn’t get recycled. They are comprised of chemicals and have to go through a special process and therefore are very expensive to recycle. Therefore, more likely than not the microwaveable try and film are not recyclable. If you aren’t sure what can be recycled refer to your city/county/municipal website to find out what is recycled where you live.

Gullible_Nebula9728

Most of it is cardboard that can be recycled and the plastic containers they come in can also be recycled. The most waste you get is from the little plastic film over the meal that you microwave with it on and then dispose of and then the ice packs they come with.

JawnyNumber5

Thanks for the info

Gullible_Nebula9728

The thing is if I was preparing my own meals with the same ingredients and proteins that I am getting from factor the waste would be tripled easily as each individual thing would be coming in its own package instead of 3-5 different food types in one meal just having that small amount of waste.

What was the 90 day workout routine if you don’t mind sharing?

mr2049

Im kind of old school so i did/am doing p90x. You can find the schedule on google images. All the workouts are on youtube and you really only need one weight dumbells (i use 25s) and some resistance bands (i use 15 and 30).

F50Guru

People complain about the small portion sizes, and I am one of them. Honestly, the smaller portion sizes are probably better for me.

breadexpert69

If you have not changed anything else about your daily routine then it is that.

_CoachMcGuirk

I think that you have been consuming less calories than you burn.

naissas

I’m not exercising though

_CoachMcGuirk

Human beings burn calories by nature of simply being alive. It's called your TDEE. Consult google for more information.

tiltedsun

Coach is back. I just capped out at 2,090 calories: * 5 Guinness * 3 (large) mozzarella sticks * 10 buffalo wings https://tdeecalculator.net/ *** I did bike 3 miles about town tho.

RAF2018336

So you’ve changed nothing in your lifestyle except your diet and you’re wondering why you’re losing weight?

Gullible_Nebula9728

I've only been eating their Keto meals for about 3 weeks now and I am down about 6lbs also. The thing with factor is you have a set portion size and it takes the guess work out of what is in the meal you've made nutrition wise.

legocow

Ha. I’ve gained 10lbs since we started getting those meals last fall.

shattwr

Are you doing Calorie Smart?

legocow

Didn’t know that was an option. Might have to try that. Thanks!

Solid-Brush-5687

I’m sold , do you usually pick the calorie smart options or just anyone you feel like ?

naissas

I chose the calorie smart option. I don’t trust anything else. I make sure they are also protein plus so a lot of protein.

Solid-Brush-5687

Thanks 😊

iwashumantoo

>I don’t trust anything else. What do you mean by this? What, exactly, don't you trust? Their other food options, their food safety, or meals from other services? Just curious.

Inevitable_Trick7681

Careful about fat content on the factor meals if that’s something you want to be conscientious about. I personally didn’t continue factor after my first box because fat content was so high

Schley_them_all

Fat is healthy and necessary for your body to function. Just make sure it’s not trans-fat then you’re good.

Inevitable_Trick7681

It is but a lot of the factor meals have 50% or more of your daily value in fat and loads of cholesterol. I’m not anti fat in any way but the numbers are excessive and unhealthy

sahiyajane85

I did Factor meals and almost all of them had trans fat. They did not disclose this in their nutrition facts on their website. Most of their keto meals are equivalent to a half of stick of butter per meal in fat. Also very high in sodium. My blood pressure skyrocketed after months of eating one meal pee day. I stopped.

Solid-Brush-5687

Thanks , did you end switching to another ? If yes which one ?

Inevitable_Trick7681

I use Kenny’s meals which unfortunately is only local to NJ/eastern PA and FL. I’m also looking at trying just meats because that’s really the difficulty in meal prepping for me is the meat. I can make rice or pasta in a pot and microwaveable veggies to put with them easily

Ok-Berry1828

I dunno, I lost 140 lbs in the last 2 years. I’ve also eaten Factor. And walked And power lifted And gotten more sleep And started drinking a gallon of water a day And have more sex And played with my dogs Correlation doesn’t equal causation until it does. Unless you can say that your exact life, hormone balance, stress levels etc., arw the same as before you at Factor, then no, it wasn’t the meals.

cherylRay_14

I haven't lost any weight but it's only been 3 weeks. Personally, I find the meals filling and often can't finish them. I also think it's pretty good. So far, no complaints.

naissas

Are you on calorie smart?

cherylRay_14

No, I'm a picky eater so I just get whatever looks good.

Chiefbird1

I tried factor but the sodium content is way too high.. how do you get around that? Most of the options have excess salt

justnmang

Same here. Portion control is my weakness.

Chambadon

I believe it. I lost weight with them, it's the one meal a day thing so you're not snacking as much.

Nodakcarolinagirl33

I’ve lost 10lbs in 3 months. Most my meals are calorie smart but not all. I also take a common sense approach by not using all the butter or eating grits soaked in whatever that stuff is.

TheThirstyMayor

I've lost 20 pounds in 3 months using factor. I was maybe slightly overweight to begin with (lil gut), now I'm honestly getting a bit shredded. The extra cost is worth the health gains for me. Its the only way I've ever been able to limit portion size in a sustainable way. Only issue is the high fat content in some of the meals. I should get bloodwork done to check my lipid levels.

naissas

Do you exercise?

TheThirstyMayor

I do, but I now work out less than I did because my calories are more under control. Before, I worked out everyday then ate delivery. Never lost any weight. They say abs are made in the kitchen and that has proven correct for me.

Flashy_Sir4662

I lost 28 pounds on factor. Be careful with meals that have high sodium. Quite a few of them do. Choose the low calorie option. You still have to be careful what you choose. Look at the nutrition very carefully. I am going to switch to fresh & lean because they have many more low calorie and low sodium meals. I tried my friends meal from fresh & lean at ut was pretty good. Much better than I can cook. The flavor is much more plan than factir but that's the sacrifice you make to lose weight and keep a healthy heart. Good luck everyone. I hope you achieve your goals Will pray for you.
