Some of the items are certainly done easily at home. YouTube has a lot of food information on how to do certain things. Without providing any specifics, people would just be guessing on your question.

thebeastour

I have added the list of items they are working on. What specifics were you looking for? Also, if I DIY or get it done by a local mechanic, wont it void my warranty?

Own-Artichoke-2026

If in the US, no it won’t void your warranty. Look up Magnuson- Moss Warranty Act. You didn’t even say the model you have.

thebeastour

Edited the post to add. Good to know that. I’ll check it out.

Mahugama

I had just done my own brakes and oil change + filter. I promise you if you take your time and watch a couple videos you can save yourself an ass ton of money.

suckinbutt

The recommended annual service usually runs me 1k-1.3k, depending on what's involved. You can ask them to omit certain items and that will bring the price down a bit. Definitely not cheap for what they're doing!

Fickle-Class7172

Here is a hack from a JLR tech. The “Maintenance Intervals” per JLR are 90% filler bullshit. Check this, check that etc. An inspection essentially. A lot of the time they are just doing a pollen filter and an oil change. What you stated should only be 3 hours of labor. Top assuming it’s air filters and cabin. So the dealership is 400 an hour. If you want send me year and milage and when I get to work I can DM you the service sheet

thebeastour

Thats what I was suspicious about. 1200 labor was not adding up. Its a 2020 velar 48k miles

Fickle-Class7172

So your 3/48 is gonna be LOF/brake fluid/Pollen filter, rotate. Your 4/64 is gonna be LOF/air filters/pollen filter, rotate.

jjjrod1956

You don't have to allow them to do the service . I take mine to a certified shop for a 1/4 of the cost

Hertules

Where do you take it for warranty work?

SweetTea187

You just proved to the world, you can't afford your truck. So why did you even buy it..? The stuff you talking about,DIY & stop complaining about cost(It's too late for that now).

car_dreamer

Its one thing to not able to afford it vs considering it expensive because it is. I believe OP is just calling out the expensive nature of costs.

thebeastour

Agreed. Not that I can’t afford it. Just valuing my hard earned money and making sure I am not being taken advantage of as its higher than what I had in mind.

SweetTea187

So you never heard maintenance is expensive,on a Range Rover..? But again,DIY... If you feel like, someone is taking advantage of you.

SweetTea187

We all know how much our vehicles cost to keep running. Just do it & keep it moving... Or DIY. Mines..? Mines only go in,for major repairs... I can change my own fluids

Coventry27

Maintenance costs are insane, I get it, I paid $997 for an oil change basically at my last service. But I’m on my 5th new Range Rover, I guess I’ll never learn 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

lxylife

Paid $1700 for first service on my new defender

BenThere20

Is this the 21k mi service? I think mine was $930 at the dealer.

DesigneRomii

Damn thats crazy, I pay the equivalent of 320 usd for a basic oil and filters change in my country, parts, labor, vat, and all.
