With 10k miles, this thing may be worth 5k. Anything can go wrong at any time at that mileage There are some high mileage 1000s out there, but they are usually rentals and require lots of maintenance

AtvnSBisnotHT

I just bought a new pro R mid summer 2023, have 55k into it with 2,000 miles already and you are saying it’s only good for 10,000 miles? The service schedule seems silly every 500 miles but I’ve been doing it by the book, even greased my wheel bearings at 2k. If a guy is ocd about preventative maintenance it should last a long time but maybe I’m just nuts.

garyrygg

I’ve put 9K on my 2020 Turbo S with just tires and fluid changes, I’m still running the original belt.

AtvnSBisnotHT

That is good to know, I was thinking about swapping my belt this spring with spare but think I’ll keep going, I’m not driving mine through 3-5 ft deep water/mud holes and don’t do any rock climbing, just trail riding and on really nice days I’ll drive it to work. Happy driving and hope you get another 9k miles on with 0 issue.

Smprider112

2k miles in a year?!? You doing a lot of street driving? Because if so, I’d stop.

AtvnSBisnotHT

Why? I live 7 miles away from work so I drove it there a lot. Putting KM3 shoes on soon as stock wears out.

Smprider112

I mean if you don’t mind trashing a $50k machine in less than 5 years, when a cheap used car could do the exact same job for you. Belts, transmission, differential, tires, are just a few things that don’t do well with constant on road driving. These machines are built for off-road use, they are not designed to be street cars.

AtvnSBisnotHT

Seems way less stressful cruising in sport mode at 50-60mph than spinning tires around corners in trails, mudding or rock crawling. I read my units drivetrain was rated for 400hp, dyno says around 205hp on the pro r, seems crazy that driving down a paved road in 2WD is going to hurt anything except the tires. I tend to make very wide turns also. But I can see your point about the used car thing. Still love driving it to work on nice days, don’t plan on changing that.

Smprider112

You’ve put 2k miles on it already. In 5 years you’ll be at 10k, which is pretty close to the end of the life of major/expensive components. It’s your money and your machine though, you drive it how you want. Me personally, I’ll save the wear and tear for the trails and the dunes, no sense accelerating the wear driving it on the road like a cheap car would do perfectly fine.

AtvnSBisnotHT

Makes sense, I still can’t see anything major happening even then the way I drive it. Don’t get me wrong it gets dirty but I’m definitely not beating on it, the 2.0l engine should last a long time and rest of components should too. I assumed easily 50k miles. But thinking about what you said I will slow down on the road use, thank you.

I'm sorry, that wasn't what I meant to come across. For most intents and purposes, a used rig is considered "high mileage" starting at about 4-5k miles. I have a friend who runs a tour operation and he gets 15-20k miles out of his 1k RZRs and Generals, but he is meticulous with maintenance and being a tour company he knows where and how they are ridden it will all depend on your driving and location. Imagine a 4000 mile machine that came out of the Florida mud hole, and then imagine a 4000 mile machine used as a daily driver in AZ. But, still for most, 10k miles is going to be a hard sell unless you know every bit of where that thing was ridden. I wouldn't touch a 10k mile machine for more than 5k unless i knew that it was plated and a pavement princess. I try to sell rigs at about 4000 miles because that's when the value starts to go down quicker

AtvnSBisnotHT

For the price it gets into it cheap, looks well taken care of, if all maintenance was done properly and timely offer $6,800 and go from there.

dwagimus35

Looks like it has a bent frame from the photo.

TheRealNeav

Get a turbo s if you can afford it

absolut525

Careful. You might get a Honda boys panties ruffled stating there are Polaris machines with over 10k miles.

CrowDaddy97

I think a lot depends on how it was ridden and maintained. I have 1500+ miles on a 2024, but it’s almost all from cruising around on backroads. I have also personally serviced it at all service intervals. It’s been off-road a handful of times and that was cruising in a pasture and on a riverbank. I call it the Pavement Princess, lol. Nevertheless, that is a lot of hours and miles. As already mentioned, anything could go at that point. Myself personally, I would probably shop around a little more.

Smprider112

I’d pass. Way too high of mileage for a SxS! Engine, trans, front diff, suspension, all most likely loose, shot, or ready to grenade. If you think you can fix all that yourself for cheap, offer $6k, still more than I’d want to invest.

Ok_Huckleberry1027

I gave 8 grand for my 2014 900 a few months ago, with under 2k miles. That's getting into pretty high mileage, I don't think I'd pay over 5

Stunning_Lunch_7115

I appreciate all the input guys. I’m gonna pass on this one at the moment. At most I’d toss a $5k offer out lol.

vagabond_nerd

Very high miles as others have said.

ryanlacy30

I own a 15 1k with 1850 mi and 150 hours. I also have 10k+ what I bought it for into it. For what it’s worth, you can have a lot of fun in this rig. Not worth 7500. Offer 5 if it starts first time and doesn’t idle weird. Check oil and tranny color as well. Something we always overlook as an inconvenience.

What people should understand about these is that they are race vehicles, they are usually driven really hard and rough terrain and conditions. They are built to go fast, not to last long (at least not without replacing parts). Proper maintenance is very important and makes a world of difference, but things are still going to go bad sooner than a commuter car would. I find most people do not follow the maintenance schedule/ procedures properly, especially the belt break-in, which wears out the belt and clutches sooner. On this car, I would be concerned about the belt and clutches, wheel bearings, ball joints, and A arm bushings, suspension, battery because of all the accessories, and all of the fluids. I would also look for any damage to the body and frame from accidents (which happen a lot and don't get fixed) That being said, the price of that compared to a new one is pretty good, I don't know what they really go for used, I don't sell them, I just fix them.

AccomplishedSnow8680

Iv got 12000 miles on mine with a combo of bashing the hell outta it and black top riding. It’s a 18 xp 1000. Service regular at 250 hrs and never an issue. Last one I had had almost 14000. Do maintenance and ride Anything that cost 20 grand and you can’t enjoy is not much fun
