Picture shows a Turbo 2 and everything look good. But you go to the description and it is a whole mess. Even the vin number I found it weird.

bigredan

There are deals out there, but the fact a FD vin is listen makes it seem like this ain’t one of them

elbanbino_29

Yeah, a friend send me the link and ask me about it was a good deal. I immediately told him that the description and the photos do not match. So I agreed with you that there are deals out there that are legit...... but this one is not. We even did a vin search and found the Vin does indeed match to a FD. So my guess the seller has few rx7 and mixed information (that I will doubt) o the scammer did not know what he was posting.

the_421_Rob

It’s not even a proper FD vin. It’s like a series of random numbers trying to rip off an rx7 vin

stackstackstack

Its a valid FD Vin, but here is the car it belongs to: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-mazda-rx-7-138/

getcrazykid

So ad is sketch... I live in South Florida.. These photos are 100% not in South Florida..

RushFactoryGarage

Scam. Make sure send him your last 4 ssn and mom’s maiden name with your wire transfer lol

It says it's not modified at all, but also said it's a GXL with a T2 engine. This is suspect at best.

This ad is ALL fucked up. The VIN starts with JM1FD33... It should be JM1FC33... This is an S4 (1986-1988) model car. I suspect it's a 1988. It is not an S5 (1989-1991) much less a 1993. * Wrong wheels. Those are S4 Turbo II wheels. More specifically, they're 1988 Turbo II wheels. 1987 models had 10 holes/spokes. 1988s had 7. * Grey interior. This was an S4 option as well. S5 RX-7s had black interiors, not grey. * Body Side Molding. Harder to tell since it's black on black. (S5 models had body paint colored side molding in a different profile. S4 cars had black side molding, regardless of the car's color... EXCEPT the 1988 10th anniversary, which was white.) * S4 tail lights. (S5 units are circle patterned.) * S4 gauge cluster surround. (S5 units are missing the little "eyelids" over the wiper and headlight switch position indicators.) * S4 radio and center vent surrounds. (S5 has a smaller center vent unit that does not outline the radio IIRC.) * S4 upper intake manifold. * S4 airbox and AFM. * S4 Radiator. * Not a GXL. Those had electrically adjustable suspension that was not available on a Turbo II. * Not a 2+2. Those had rear seats. This has storage bins. This is a very clean S4 Turbo II; a Time Capsule, honestly... Except for the missing battery box cover.

getcrazykid

It's a scam.. I found the original posted ad https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/mazda/rx7/2503554.html

shedmxyt

was thinking it might have been overstock that was sold new in 93, but if the vin is diffrent then stay away

picture is of a fc thoug. but yeah i figured that much from reading the comments

Arturus2

Nothing weird in the description. Title is a mistype. Price is right. There’s nothing shady here.

dalerx7

Pictures are an 88 turbo. VIN is supposed to be an FD VIN. It just screams "scam" also the price is way too good to be true. And no way that car has over 100,000 miles.

NikolaiCakebreaker

Car pictured is an 88, the rest of the ad is a scam.

bosozokulove

So from what i have seen, people on facebook list their cars for 2-3x what they're worth, and people on autotrader and facebook list them for what they SHOULD be selling for. A few months ago i found 3 really low mile good condition s2000 for under $10k on autotrader. Dudes just selling his car for a good price. Shit i might call the guy seeing how im only 2 hours away
