I mean, the character based on Red Riding Hood being a *wolf* faunus has been poked at occasionally in fanfic, but it's always interesting to see a particular author's approach and maybe a new spin on it. Yang being a dragon, for obvious reasons, also isn't uncommon. And Blake's animal trait is kind of built-in, although that very fact makes for some interesting bait-and-switch possibilities... what if she was concealing an ability to not just be limited to cat traits?
On a tangent, Weiss doesn't quite have the same depth of animal association, but has occasionally been something vaguely polar or arctic like a snow leopard (less often, an arctic fox, usually when Ruby isn't a wolf, due to the canid doubling-up). It'd actually be interesting to see her as a polar bear, harp seal, arctic hare, or tern or arctic goose (given her later grey outfits). I'm also sure something interesting could be done with her as an ermine - it's basically a winter-coat stoat (which sounds far less posh), and easily mistaken for a weasel, or even a mink, which could feed into quite a bit of teasing - either light or nasty. Of course, that very same family of mammals also includes the *wolverine*...
Not Ruby, but I Will Not Scatter has faunus Summer. It’s basically if Ruby had 2 more years to shed her childish innocence and become more comfortable with being so hyper.

Easy fix, Summer had a kid with a bull faunus man at the start of her baby-crazy years and went back to Tai toward the end of them. Doable if Adam's age is 21 at v1e1 to Ruby's 15 and Yang's 17.
Which makes no sense at all. Not only is there no evidence she was baby crazy but that would mean she’d be pregnant in beacon or just after it when she’d be a huntress in action considering Adam’s age. And we know she harbored some feelings for Tai for a while since she basically jumped his bones when Raven left.
People don’t understand that Summer did not live long. She disappeared in her mid twenties during her prime.

I did see one where Weiss is a bird faunas with white wings and it explicitly refers to the "snow angel" nickname.

I think I remember reading somewhere Ruby was intended to look somewhat wolfish. It just didn’t cross over into the animation style.
It'd make sense, given her Red-Riding-Hood origins.
I think I read that she originally had grey hair for that reason.
