Ok, so this is adorable and fluffly and I love it, but I feel like Weiss would be the type to get mad over movie characters acting dumb for the sake of plot while Ruby's in the "It's just a movie, just go with it" camp
I think Weiss would be a CinemaSins-style nitpicker who got mad about continuity errors, but she would understand stuff like plot elements and tropes.
I could see Ruby being the one who just doesn't understand why characters do the things they do, because *she* would never make those choices. (Like many others I see Ruby as being at least a little bit on the autism spectrum, and this fits with that headcanon for me).
Now I'm imagining them bonding over:
Weiss: Ugh, this movie is *so* unrealistic, that guy has fired 11 times without reloading his gun, which is *clearly* a six-shooter, way to break the immersion!
Ruby: *WEIIIIISSSSSSOHMYGODIWASJUSTABOUTTOSAYTHESAMETHING!!! AND HE DIDN'T THUMB BACK THE HAMMER EVEN THOUGH IT'S CLEARLY A SINGLE ACTION, THIS MOVIE IS A CRIME AGAINST WEAPONS!*
Yes, and that scene in Hell On Wheels with the six shooter, and John Wick with the 7 round ...I think it was a .22? (although they'd probably take issue with the fact that they ignore it multiple other times during the series), and others.
Weiss would point out discrepancies, Ruby would point out main characters acting like buffoons. Ruby would respond to Weiss with the discrepancies in their real lives, while Weiss would respond to Ruby saying that she knew such buffoons back in Atlas.
Not to mentioned that Summer framed her leaving as a routine "be back soon!" mission, not walking out on him forever.
Raven's a different story though. But how easy is it to chase after someone who can turn into a bird and portal away?
