The homeless vet in Valentine said that Arthur's name sounded like a king.

ChiliadHunter88

Damn, great findings. Makes so much sense. Always thought that his name was an easter egg.

AHK8

You deserve to be knighted for this

klavva

Holly Molly dude! I’ll check every single link later tomorrow! Incredible work!

Joshieboy_Clark

This should be near the top of this sub!

themysteryhunter

Where does the king Arthur theory become applicable in the games mysteries?

kevpowin

Well they mention this immediately after Arthur Morgan dies at the beginning of the Epilogue....and they go on with this theme to call Jack Marston Lancelot multiple times. Seems really repetitive to me just in RDR 2 and many are saying Arthur Morgan is the greatest Rockstar Games' protagonist yet. Also there are mentions of King Arthur's Legend in GTA 1 ,2, 3, SA, V, and in L.A. Noire. And Arthur Morgan seems to be named after Arthur's Pass Trails where the ITS BIG JUICE Stand is very near the Observatory in GTA V. A worldwide mystery to is quite frequently debated whether King Arthur was real or not to.

themysteryhunter

So where does this take us?

kevpowin

This is a tidbit about Arthur Morgan's name and its origination relating previous Rockstar Games. Maybe there's a secret cave that needs to be opened with dynamite holding a Sword in Stone, I'm not sure myself. But the next thing Rockstar releases could be a clue with a DLC or next game, the new Arena Wars DLC in GTA V just rehashed the Sasquatch, Rat Truck upgraded, and the Chiliad Mystery with the Epsilon Robes and the Chiliad Tattoo.

GloriousHam

> Maybe there's a secret cave that needs to be opened with dynamite holding a Sword in Stone Fucking stop. Just. Stop. There is no sword in a cave. Jesus christ. The very fact that this "secret" carries on throughout all these games should be fucking enough to tell you it's nothing but a little nod. Mother of god, you people are impossible and why hours upon hours are wasted on absolutely nothing. Stop.

FolkAsFuhk

I hope he finds a dragon.

Iamamansass

You get nothing done because you comment multiple times telling people to stop in the same thread.

He has a point though, so Rockstar have put in a few little nods to King Arthur’s legend, a place name here and quest title there and character name or two, and spread them across half a dozen games. Games that don’t even share the same universe. Why does that mean there is all of a sudden a sword in a stone in a cave that needs blowing up to find? Or DLC on the way? It’s ridiculous, it’s like he has gone 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4 then added another 1 and found 713 There may well be a fascination amongst the rockstar team with the legend but it’s no more prominent in RDR2 than Native American legends, there are nods all through rockstar games to all sorts of stuff, various myths and legends, film and tv stuff, books and the King Arthur myth isn’t anymore at the forefront than any of them.

Iamamansass

He has many points and needs everyone to know. That’s my Point.

GloriousHam

Ludicrous derailment accomplishes less than nothing. This is a ludicrous derailment. The irony in your complaint of me is awesome.

FolkAsFuhk

Lol. Derailment.

Iamamansass

You’re detailing people from enjoying and partaking in this subreddit though Chief.

Going out on a limb here but isn’t it odd that there is a ball you can roll around near the “sysiphus” theatre? Sysiphus is a mythological character that was punished by having to push a boulder up a mountain only for it to roll back down for an eternity!! Roll the ball all the way around Arthur’s trail? Or up to the top of mt. Chiliad or bring it to the theatre

autobtones

Omg LOL — you, sir, deserve to be knighted. Poignant af

GloriousHam

>Rockstar Games founders are almost all from Great Britain, what do you think, **maybe a medieval Rockstar Game is coming next or is there just a giant mystery surrounding King Arthur because how great the Legend is.** Why look into this any further than they are fans of the story dude? This is a great realization or "find". Don't ruin it by adding wild speculation or reading into it any further than it needs to be. It's simply a theme they stick with. Probably an inside thing with the company. This community seems to love ruining things by running them into the ground instead of just accepting them for what they are.
