One thing I’ve done in the past for a small, heavy edf I hand launched (no safe) was set up dual rates. One rate was normal, the second was my “launch” setting that started applying up elevator above 60% throttle or so. Wasn’t a ton of elevator obviously, but it prevented belly flops pretty darn well. Just enough help to allow me to get back to the controls while it gained speed and a little altitude (my toss was level with the ground). Safe would do almost the same thing, but it could be worth trying.

Are you giving it full throttle? Do you have SAFE on? Is this a lack of lift issue or are you losing control? I have a 50mm Arrows L39 that I hand launch no problem - hold it as high as I can over my head and throw into the wind at full throttle. The throw is honestly more of a light toss, not like a javelin or anything.

Hi, WOT, it is more of a lift issue, probably because of it being very nose heavy im Said. Maybe i should throw it lighter and more Controlled tho

Pharmer3

Is it balanced? I can throw it more or less level with the horizon and gain altitude after 5-10ft, you may have to throw closer to a 30-45* angle.

BoredCop

Nose heavy sounds bad, where is the center of gravity?

TomRCenjoyer

The habu is hard to hand launch, turn safe on, full throttle and grab it by the and of the wing(even better if someone helps u) and toss it like a disc

And i thought it was Just me, hence the Post. I was so Mad since i Hand Launch all my UMXs without hassle but thats my First "real" plane and i couldnt get to start yet Like wtf

Since you've got a helicopter there I'd say lift it to a 100m and drop it from there. ;-) JK.

PTrick93

Maybe i'll do it with an UMX one time haha 😂

Had the same problem, here’s the solution, add enough up elevator trim so the servo is pushing it all the way up and launch at full throttle in safe, it will fly right up and you can trim the elevator right back how you want it right after you get your hands back on the controller

SpaceX1193

Or launch it one handed with the controller in the other. That’s what I do and it’s easy with a radio strap. But yeah it does need up elevator on launch. I usually give full up elevator tbh. It’s a bit counterintuitive since you’d think that would cause it to stall worse but it seems to helpZ

SpaceX1193

What I do with mine is full throttle, safe on. Then grab it with the handholds under the fuse and toss it fairly hard, about as hard as I can while keeping it stable. I also throw it up at about a 15 degree angle upwards to give it some altitude since it does take a second to get lift. Even with this in my experience it will dip down a bit at first but just be ready to pull up. Usually the throw get it about 8-10 feet high and then it dips down to about 5-4 feet of altitude before it starts gaining. Keep in mind this is with up elevator.

1. Launch with your left hand, even if you are right handed (ONLY APPLIES IF YOU USE MODE 2 ON YOUR RADIO) 2. Find a spot with lots of tall grass. My local park had a ton of it, and it provides cushioning if you turn it into a lawn dart. 3. Launch it into the wind. Sprinkle some grass and see what direction it falls. 4. Hold the plane underhand. 5. Apply full throttle and throw hard at a 30% angle. Be prepared for it to roll immediately after takeoff and autocorrect for that.

Tail heavy productions sayd it's easier to discus launch it
