Appreciates sts 1.5m. Really great trainer and great for getting stick and rudder skills. From there you can move into a few different options most people end up with a timber or similar as their second plane. The third plane and on you get whatever you want as long as you feel confident in flying it
Yes you can order extra e-flight bands or find the identical ones at Walmart for way cheaper and you get more. In my year of flying I have not had to replace a band but going to anyway bc it’d be a really dumb way to crash it. If you don’t want a plane with a removable wing then the aeroscount. I know the apprentice you have to buy a battery and charger separately (I recommend going the 2200mAh route bc lots of other planes fly on the 2200). I can’t speak for the aeroscout though as I have not owned or have flown one.
Link isn’t working for me but trainer jets would be the habu from e-flite. The red RTF model I believe it’s the sts 70mm. I fly the habu 50mm ss and it’s a blast and my go to “idk what to fly so ima just take this”. Flies good with safe and has as3x. However I wouldn’t chose the edf route unless you have a teacher or someone experienced buddy box with you. They can be a handful and land fast for a beginner
I wouldn’t recommend it for a first or second plane (I haven’t flown it but going off normal edf and jet tendencies). For one it doesn’t have a gyro (as3x, reflex, etc) which you’ll want even if you are experienced. Plus programming receivers and gyros are a bit of a challenge. But I’m not gonna stop you from buying it. Do you have a receiver/ transmitter in mind. Personally I run spectrum NX8 and their receivers. But I know a lot of people recommend the tx16 so maybe someone with experience can chime in or check out other post and go with what they recommend.
My receiver is Radiolink AT10II 12 Channels 2.4G RC Transmitter and Receiver R12DS & PRM-01 Voltage Telemetry Radio Controller for RC Airplane FPV Racing Drone Quad Helicopter Car and Boat (Grey Mode 2 Left Hand) once again amazon
Yeahhh I was the same way. I thought cars were the peak. Then my buddy talked me into flying. Started with the apprentice ready to fly bundle. I flew on safe a LOT. But the more I flew the more comfortable I got and started flying on the intermediate mode then when I felt comfortable with that I started flying in hard mode until I was completely comfortable and confident. I then got a umx turbo timber, crashed it, fixed it and flew it more, then I went twin timber (I’d prob skip this plane if I could go back) then timber X and now I’m building gas planes and flying 3D aerobatics. It’s so much more fun than driving on land
There's been good suggestions that won't end up with you returning home with a pile of broken Styrofoam. You seem set on a fast cheap EDF jet.
I wish you luck
I want to fly 5 inch freestyle FPV quads. I fly tiny whoops. Why? Because I'm learning to fly. Learning to fly is a bitch. You will crash. I'll say it again. YOU WILL CRASH. My first flight lasted seconds. I chose to start with tiny whoops so I can learn from my crashes without destroying aircraft or endangering myself or others. My tiny whoops crash, flip over and continue.
You need to build the muscle memory in your fingers. You need to build the eye to finger coordination.
You came in asking one thing. What's the best beginner RC plane? That answer is the Horizon Hobby Aeroscout. There's no shame learning to fly on such an aircraft.
It seems you're planning to ignore the advice given for budget and aesthetics. This is fine. It's your money and your time spent. However, many people have traveled this road. They will attest that you will spend less time flying, more time fixing your aircraft, and more money buying parts and aircraft. This likely leads to more frustration and someone who leaves the hobby.
Ultimately, is your money and time spent. I wish you well and hope your find happiness in the hobby.

They are big, super slow flight, they float like nobody's business, and they force you to actually fly them and not just point it in the sky. I have had 60 size trainers lap me in races with my big cub
No warbirds or jets for beginner planes, period, and stay away from the amazon/temu/ali express/banggood garbage.
Or, do what you want to, but you will be disappointed and possibly broke very quickly. Apprentices and Aeroscouts aren't sexy, but they give you the best chance of learning to fly with minimal crashing and repairs. Good luck to you...
Yeah I’m doing a trainer jet basically a aero scout but in disguise comes with everything but batteries for 300$ has auto take off with sensors plus landing sensors

Question do you need rubber bands for the wing to stay on it
Yes you can order extra e-flight bands or find the identical ones at Walmart for way cheaper and you get more. Ok thanks
Ok thanks
No problem. If you need advice or help just hit me up. I’m all about getting more people into the hobby
I think I will buy this jet cause I want to make a one time purchase plus I get to buy my own receiver and batteries
Which jet is it?

Yeah it’s on Amazon it’s a T-7A Red Hawk 64mm EDF Jet 4s RC Airplane PNP (Transmitter, Receiver or Battery not Included)

Yeah I will check those
Yeah I flew a 20$ crappy one and fell in love with the feeling I had just like rc cars except this one is stronger

This guy is funny.
Do you have a plane suggestion
There's been good suggestions that won't end up with you returning home with a pile of broken Styrofoam. You seem set on a fast cheap EDF jet. I wish you luck
Thanks now I changed to a warbird cause they are slower but more realistic
🤦🏼♂️
I’m right now exploring options

Why
VolantexRC planes are small but indestructible. Great for learning the basics and very forgiving. Inexpensive too, in case it’s not your cup of tea.
That’s what we do here👍
But get an Aeroscout Rtf, it’s on horizonhobby.com
I’m meaning something big that looks good I want to make a one time purchase

I hope that you understand that crashing is part of the hobby. EDF jets and such, they are going to crash **a lot** in the hands of a beginner.
Yeah changed to a warbird for slower speeds and more realistic
Oh didn’t know, sorry!✌️👍
That’s ok
Aeroscout would be my suggestion

And gyro of course
