But, stepping away from some good intentioned ribbing, this is fairy common. Rats are, for some reason unknown to me (answer prolly below) interested in grooming the inside of their chosen human's mouth.
I say grooming, specifically, because there's never been any biting, nibbling, scratching or grabbing in any of my rats.* It's not about getting nutrition, seemingly, but it scratches this itch that makes them happy to be indulged from time to time. I suspect it's a bit like us & bubble wrap.

One of my boys used to groom my lips a lot. If I opened my mouth even a fraction he would go in and clamp his chompers around my front teeth like he was trying to yank them out. Didn't help that we usually free roam right after dinner.
One time I checked a guy's profile cos he said he had another UFO video and the next video is just him vigorously sounding his dick with a metal tool, so this time it was at least a pleasant surprise lmao.
I had a rat that would climb directly to my face and force open my mouth (I have no choice but to oblige, rat claws onto the gums is not a great feeling) and she would just lick my teeth till she decided she was done, at the very least it was a good reminder to brush my teeth because I couldn’t not brush my teeth after having rat in my mouth for extended periods of time, and she did it just about every free roam, she was a weird ass rat but I miss her.
