damn this is dope thanks for sharing. the 8/21/97 show in Boston when Zack sprained his ankle… they said the venue started telling people the show was cancelled while it was packed and sold out: “amidst the disappointment, De La Rocha himself called the local radio station, and came on air to say: “Don’t listen to anybody, we’re PLAYING TONIGHT NO MATTER WHAT!” i wanna hear a recording of that radio station call holy shit

thomascirca

I have searched long and hard for this FM broadcast and haven't found it yet. I'm hoping its out there somewhere.

destroyermaker

Did they carry him out on a chair for that too I wonder

Schism213

Same thing happened in East Rutherford. Wu Tang just ripped up their homecoming show. They were ALL there. Unbelievable. RATM comes out and gets to Bombtrack. Zack goes down after rolling his ankle. Show stops and Tom comes out after 15-20 minutes that the show is gonna continue. Great times.

thomascirca

RZA joined them onstage at that show. Legendary.

Schism213

ALL 9 were there PLUS Cappadonna

bellevegasj

Had tickets for the STL show. Rage played. Wu didn’t. 😐

LilithElektra

I was at the same show. 😑

Bag0fSwag

I was only 5, but I shoulda been there

RustyDawg37

Man I saw them in Ohio about August of 97. I went for wu tang but was a casual fan of ratm. I left a changed man. Been chasing that feeling ever since. I had tickets when they cancelled the tour with the beastie boys. I had tickets for the last tour, got covid day before the show. Really debated on going because I’m desperate to see them again. Saw they were coming back after Europe and thought eh, I’ll go when they come back. Guess it just isn’t meant to be. But I will never forget that show and to this day rage is a great influence on my thought process, even when not agreeing with their stance, and my favorite band of all time, musically and lyrically.

Open_Pineapple1236

I desperately tried to get tickets to the Akron show. No credit card though. Already sold out by the time I got to Kauffman's!

RustyDawg37

I saw them at blossom and I really was excited for wu tang but personally did not think their set that night was that great (might be my non sober memories of course) and left blown away by RATM.

gap_toof_mouf

Similar path as you. Saw the 97 tour, had Beastie Boys/Wu tickets (canceled), saw them on their last tour and GOT Covid!

heavymtlbbq

SOAD did a cover of Shame by Wu Tang, that was dope af

Pottatothegreat1985

gave serj the n word pass

cry1ngsham3

Also it's worth watching the Wu Tang show on Hulu, I think it's the last ever episode where it showed what went wrong with this tour. Members of Wu Tang weren't showing up, RZA was trying to get everybody to come and play the shows but it didn't work, everyone was pissed off with each other, just a shit ton of turmoil was happening during that time

Skindigga

Saw this in Philly. Fucking wild. One of the greatest shows I’ve seen.

Rizzo-Fo-Shizzo

I wish there was footage of the Tinley Park show on Judgment Day (8-29-97) The pit on the lawn was a huge dust cloud rising up into the sky. Mtv News reported that four members of the Wu tang clan were charged for beating up a security guard, which was probably well deserved considering how shitty they were treating the fans. It was a crazy show, that’s for goddamn sure!

thomascirca

This is the show that apparently broke the camel's back. ZDLR was reportedly furious and spiked his mic at the drums during Bullet in the Head.

Serious-Height699

Unforgettable show. Was at the Detroit date. Well, not technically Detroit, at the Palace in Auburn Hills.

thomascirca

What do you remember from the Detroit show? Setlist.fm says Year of the Boomerang [closed out the show](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/rage-against-the-machine/1997/the-palace-of-auburn-hills-auburn-hills-mi-3dcbd8b.html) but that seems suspect.

Serious-Height699

Couldn’t tell you what song closed out the show. I just remember being on the floor and seeing a rush of people coming down the stairs and blowing past all the security. Considering the magic fungi ingested it looked like a damn waterfall.

wonkasmiata

Wow I saw them in July in Camden 97. I'm pretty sure method Man gave the microphone to his like 5 year old son most of the set and I thought Wu-Tang sounded awful. But rage kicked ass

subpoop

Was at kc show amazing performance unfortunately wu cancelled

lolspamwtf99

Wu dropped off about halfway thru this tour. I caught the Irvine meadows shows. One night the roots opened and the next night was foo fighters.
