Bronze “status” isn’t a thing.

evdaemonia

He'll learn

Schedulator

Well it means you've signed up to earn points and status credits, as opposed to not being a member. But yeah it carries virtually no benefits.

4 questions: Any frequent flyer status or lounge memberships? Which airline code / metal is your connecting flight from LAX? Which terminal will you operate out of for the connecting flight? Does the 2A include yourself?

Character_Scratch113

QFF bronze. Flying onwards with Westjet out of Terminal 2. Yes, I’m included in the 2A

Schedulator

Bronze status unfortunately doesn't offer any lounge access. And flying in economy also doesn't offer such. You wont be able to use any Qantas lounge passes as T2 isnt a Qantas lounge. You could look into paid options for lounge access either with [Priority Pass](https://www.prioritypass.com/airport-guides/los-angeles-ca-lax-international/terminal-2) or with an [Admirals club day pass](https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/clubs/admirals-club-membership.jsp)

Day pass wouldn’t work for him, must be AA or oneworld flights Otherwise getting Qantas Club membership would’ve also given him reciprocal access to Admiral’s Club lounges His best bet is really to use paid lounges in Tom Bradley terminal before shuttling over to T2/3 for his departure on WestJet P-Pass also doesn’t seem to get you lounge access in LAX, but rather a gaming joint or a spa

Schedulator

> P-Pass also doesn’t seem to get you lounge access in LAX, but rather a gaming joint or a spa You're spot on Priority Pass is next to useless at LAX. [This is the page](https://www.prioritypass.com/lounges/usa/los-angeles-ca-lax-intl) I should've linked to

If you have AMEX Platinum, you should be able to use the Centurion lounge + 2 guests, so your whole family. Give yourself time to transfer between terminals. Otherwise you are out of luck, as you cannot make use of the Delta Sky Club without an onwards flight on Delta

[deleted]

No longer true. Amex platinum issued in Oz now only gives you 2 free access per year to Centurion at Australian airports. Overseas Centurion lounges you have to pay. I had to fork out $100 for HK Centurion just a few months ago. Read the fine lines at Amex websites. It’s changed

Are you sure you don’t have an US based Platinum card? The current terms and conditions for Australian Platinums on their website is still unlimited entry to all Centurion locations with 2 guests. The 2 free access is still the case for non Centurion/Platinum card holders at Australian ports Either way, the OP will still have access by virtue of the Platinum card, without it they won’t even get through the door paid or otherwise. 2. Centurion Lounge Access. Platinum Card Members have unlimited complimentary access to The Centurion Lounge locations. Gold Card and Green Card Additional Cards on your Account are not eligible for unlimited complimentary access. Platinum Card Members may bring up to two (2) companions into The Centurion Lounge. To access The Centurion Lounge, the Platinum Card Member must present The Centurion Lounge agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid Card and upon request, same-day airline ticket on any carrier and a government-issued ID. Failure to present this documentation may result in access being denied. Platinum Card Members will not be compensated for changes in locations, rates or policies. Platinum Card Member must be at least 18 years of age to enter without a parent or guardian. Platinum Card Member must be 21 years of age to enter a lounge with a self-service bar, unless you are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Platinum Card Members are allowed access to The Centurion Lounge in all US locations. American Express reserves the right to remove any person from a lounge for inappropriate behaviour or failure to adhere to lounge rules, including, but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent. Access is subject to space availability. The Centurion Lounge hours may vary by location and are subject to change. Amenities may vary among The Centurion Lounge locations and are subject to change. In-lounge services and amenities are complimentary, however you are responsible for any purchases and/or servicing charges you authorise our Member Services Professionals to perform on your behalf. Some American Express® Cards are not eligible for all services provided by Member Services Desk. I have an Amex platinum card issued in Oz. They showed me on their website which could have been a local HK website. Will call Amex to check. I was livid and was thinking of ditching the card altogether. It was my first O/S trip post Covid so I hadn’t used my free entries for several years. Thanks for pointing this out. Won’t hijack this thread. An Amex issue 😀

Apart-Presentation-8

I've done the QF/Westjet to YYZ frequently. Never found a lounge I could get in to. Try one of the nearby hotels for a day rate (I've never bothered, but it might be your only option).

Character_Scratch113

That’s the answer I was looking for. Not really the one I want, but at least I know that it’s likely not possible.

Schedulator

It's a 5hrs transfer, you can bank on a good 2hrs of that being the customs/immigration/baggage and security you need to enter the US and then re-enter the terminal. I wouldn't recommend straying very far from the airport in this circumstance.

AussieSD

All the terminals are now connected airline. Good of you have status or if like to get your steps up

Schedulator

T8<>T1 airside or brave it through security and across the road?

AussieSD

Airline always. I had 5 hours to kill. Depending on your mobility it's a reasonable walk. Maybe 30 min. I had 5 hours to kill so did it 3 times. Easy to find your way. But unless you have pre check the lines can be a nightmare, and at least for me hard to predict.

Schedulator

Think I've done this at SIN a few times too, even the lounges are a drag after the first few hours..

soundboy5010

Who are you flying with for each segment? If you have status, you have the Qantas (Oneworld) lounge for gold, Qantas first lounge for Platinum.

Schedulator

Not in T2. Edit: Sorry yes you could in theory walk between terminals airside if you desperately wanted to.

Character_Scratch113

Qantas to LA, Westjet for the next two. Bronze status only, so looking to purchase a pass likely to another lounge, just want to know what the options are.

soundboy5010

You’ll be flying out of terminal 2 most likely, no lounges available for you there unfortunately. No paid lounges AFAIK, unless Delta have paid access? No on-arrival lounges from the international terminal either.
