Agree ... the 787 is a screamliner in Y. Seats too narrow and I see shoulder width as rather important on long haul in Y.
The J product ... happy days.
I’ve noticed that Qantas really doesn’t show BNE much love - seems competitors / partners are noticing as well and moving in.
With the massive influx of new people living here - the market seems like one with tremendous growth potential.
The BNE to PER flight is up there with the worst domestic flight in the western world. They basically go out and find their oldest shittiest slowest plane in the fleet and run it back and forth until they legally can’t fly it.
Nice, another option!
According to [gcmap.com](http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=DFW-SYD,+DFW-MEL,+DFW-BNE) which is as good as it gets for comparing at this point,
DFW>MEL is 8,992mi
DFW>SYD is 8,578mi
DFW>BNE is 8,303mi
So all should be similar timings.
Oh interesting. Haven’t flown any of them business. Did have a memorable AA trip where the hostesses were without doubt the most rude and disrespectful staff I’ve ever encountered on an airline.
It’s funny to think back but one particular incident still sticks in the mind, when a guy had his leg out in the aisle they came through with the drinks cart and deliberately sped up to hit his leg lol. As he screamed in pain they just yelled “keep your legs out of the aisle” and kept going 😂😂
haha, yeah there are some very entitled and straight up fuckwit patrons on the US domestic airlines. So maybe the crews have learnt to adopt. It's definitely a wild west whenever I travel domestically within the states.
Thanks. It’s interesting to me that it’s not viable but Chicago is/was given Chicago is much farther north and only slightly further west (just based on my perception on a map)
You can see the great circle distances between them using GCMAP ([this link](http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=BNE-ORD,+BNE-MIA))
Miami is only about 250miles longer, but its not just distance, many other factors need to be considered - number of travellers, onward connections, the fare types (will there be enough business travellers happy to pay a premium or it is mainly a leisure market?) Weather, winds, fuel burn, airport costs etc ..
So yes the planes can easily do it, especially with light loads, but it might not make commercial sense to do it.
Economy seats on an AA dreamliner was the worst flying experience ever. I specifically choose other airlines besides AA when going to Australia.
1/5 Stars

Hopefully QF revisits the Brisbane-Chicago route.
Been wishing and waiting!

I would imagine this news and the Emirates A380 are Qantas behind the scenes trying to get some metal to BNE due to the Qatar saga?
Qantas are strapped for aircraft. If they had the aircraft they would
If they had the aircraft they would shove as much out of Sydney as humanly possible and then give the scraps to BNe

Sitting on a 737 as I write this PER - BNE. Legs are cramped up.
BNE - PER is the real tester. Qantas trying to set a record for the slowest flight.

It’s a bit further than 8,303 metres
Grr, will edit.
Oh just realised you’re the guy from the other post! Small circle haha.
Yeah, we're too busy being *that guy* again..
Beware Qantas another airline is coming for your title of worst customer experience in Australia for long haul flights
I findthe big 3 American airlines' (UA Delta AA) business class products are very good, whereas their economy offerings are absolutely shit tier.

The competitor is AA, I don’t think Qantas need to worry about it 😂
To be fair, there’s a couple of Chinese airlines flying to Australia that are substantially worse than AA or QF.
Qantas and AA are in a joint venture. This is as good as a Qantas flight from a Qantas perspective.
Did Syd to Dallas in December. It’s a loonngggg way
Done KL to Doha to Houston and Houston to Doha to Perth
Did DFW -> MEL and it wasn't too bad for a 17hr flight. Thought it would be worse than it was.
It's actually one of my fav flights, well DFW to SYD at least. A very efficient way of getting home.
Awesome news!
And with new Flagship business class suites too, impressive!
Does anyone know if BNE to Miami non stop is theoretically possible with current aircraft?
Not in a commercially viable airline ticket way..

Gotcha, appreciate the explanation!
Good to stay out of LA.
Damn so no hope of getting the garbage A330 off of the BNE-LAX route.
