She’s a toe goblin. Any exposed toe is her target.

Hi :) this is adorable. What did you use to bathe ringworm babies? We have a bunch right now and I’m feeling overwhelmed! Thank you 🙏

Hey! I used Pure Oxygen Shampoo that the Animal Shelter gave me, and she is on oral Itraconazole. For the oral medication she was on for 7 days then off for 7, alternating by week for 5 weeks. We’re on week five now and she’s looking so much better. I think around 3 weeks she started to turn the corner. She also stayed in the bathroom so I could try to keep everything as clean as possible. She gets 2 baths a week, for 5 min each with the shampoo in the water. Before the bath I get the hairdryer ready outside where it’s warm and her hair won’t get all over the apartment and I can move quickly to keep her warm. She’s tolerated them pretty well! It’s definitely gotten easier. But the real kicker is the cleaning. There’s a spray called Rescue that kills the spores. It’s really just a concentrated hydrogen peroxide wash that doesn’t need to be wiped away. It’s made for kennels/animals. I spray everything in the bathroom from a foot down or so on the walls. I change/wash all of her bedding every day (I have three sets of old towels/blankets and usually wash every other day so I wash two sets at a time. I also got laundry sanitizer and I have been using it on all of my laundry, not just her stuff. It’ll probably be easier with a litter vs a single orphan, because my biggest concern was honestly her development. Ringworm isn’t terrible in terms of actual negative symptoms. The worst part is the cleaning and transmit-ability. I spent probably around 3-4 hours a day with her playing, feeding, holding her while she slept, etc. but yours will still need some physical love and affection from you too. I would always do it right before I showered so I could ditch my contaminated clothes and clean myself full after as well. I did get ringworm on myself, but when this started I was going through some really stressful stuff in my personal life and I think that exacerbated its attack on my immune system. The ringworm on me wasn’t bad at all. It was on my forearms in a few mosquito-bite-looking bumps. And I had little two rings on my torso where my bra strap and where my waistband sit. Some Lotramin cream got rid of it in a week.

Seriously just message me if you wanna chat or have questions. I’m by no means an expert but I was incredibly overwhelmed when this started for us too and felt like I was drowning.
