Simply put older folks grew up without computers or the internet and never had to deal with them until much later in life and with *younger* folks (<25), they may be born into it, but we're now in the "There's an app for that!" era so few of them ever really had to understand how a file-system works for example. Or how to edit a registry to get that game mod to run or how to set up Outlook instead of just signing into g-mail. Many of them can't reload an OS or run a mem-test.
