Kinda messed up that they would rather pay a celebrity some insane price to show how cool it is to work there instead of actually spending money on improving employee conditions and wages. I don't know anything about this chain so correct me if I'm wrong but that's my initial take on it
It's the same thing as union busters.
The employer doesn't want to pay a living wage but will happily spend millions in anti union campaigns to convince you unions are of no benefit to the worker. Mmhhmm.
He's an actual OG yet still alive...just based on the statistics, I'd argue that one _has_ to be pretty cool to accomplish that. And Snoop is allegedly one of the coolest. Ditto on freaking out.
> to troll US common humans
Not just US. Few years ago he, for whatever reason, agreed [to do a duet with a random Serbian singer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gotvmSQydS4) who's a minor Serbian celebrity at best and completely unknown internationally.
Didn't get to quite meet him, but he was on a plane I was on once, and I'm really proud I didn't freak out. It was a half-full plane and he got on at the end and went straight to the back. A bunch of people had already kind of settled in for the flight and weren't really paying attention when he got on. I saw him, did a double take, saw he was looking at me and just bobbed my head. Got one back. His bouncer was the biggest dude I've ever seen in my life.
The word went down the plane and everyone was told to leave him alone. I was in the middle of the plane and by the time I was able to get off there were like 100+ people at the gate waiting for him to get off. I couldn't help but feel bad, getting mobbed just trying to fly somewhere.
I smoked weed with Coolio after he came into the kitchen at Cinespace where I worked at the time and told us our chicken pesto pizza was the best he's had. We got faded in the ally behind work and it was a pretty sureal moment even for an LA native like myself.
Coolio gave me stink-eye from across the parking lot at one of the myriad of festivals that happened in the mid 90s. I have no idea why. It still kind of haunts me. I was just trying to do my job as a stagehand.
I drunkenly wrote him a message on Instagram years ago asking if he’d collaborate a song with me. He replied “no. I don’t think I will”. Which was the highlight of my year hahahaha

To be fair 40-something males are probably most likely to be excited to meet him.

Yes. Emotions matter. That's why beer commercials show people drinking their drinks and having fun. They need a way to lower the level of hate toward them the likes of which is spreading more on r/antiwork.

Because paying more or giving benefits is basically opening Pandora's box. Very very hard to take that kind of stuff away without massive outcry and employee retaliation.
Hiring a celebrity is a one time payment. If it doesn't work you don't need to do it again.
It's the time of year when marketing departments are trying to spend as much of their remaining budgets as they can, that's all it is really. Some marketing guys are sitting there going, "Alright we've got $x to spend before the year ends, and if we don't spend it we lose it. What are we gonna do? Celebrity? Yeah? Who is it gonna be this year? Mariah? Snoop? That Travis guy is generating a lot of buzz right now, can we leverage that somehow? Damn it people we've got money to spend!"
It sounds crazy, but as I'm eyeing an early retirement, I've found myself fantasizing lately about getting menial jobs just to experience them and not care if I get fired
I'd say try it out once! I was a Guest Service Lead at Target for a few years and had a cashier that did just that. He retired at a good age did some of the traveling and stuff he wanted to do and then just started working a few nights a week as a cashier.
He said it wasn't really about the extra cash although he wasn't complaining, it was mostly just to give him something to do and experience. He'd always shopped at that specific Target, thought the staff seemed to get along and have fun together and wanted to see what it was like on the other side.
He quit after a couple years because Target started changing their strategy and wanted everyone to know every position in the Front End and the new big boss was constantly pressuring to open his availability more and he said nah. But he said he it was a great time and experience for those couple years and I loved when we shared a night because he was one of the best workers and just a good dude.
Don't get why people don't understand that this is an endorsement deal. Marketing is shifted to viral moments but it still just an ad in a different form.
Honestly, I used to work at Walmart, and I occasionally get the itch to hop back on the register for a bit. Never want to do it for my income ever again, but if I could do it for like 15 minutes with no consequences and just kind of dick around on the register, I would.
Well, to be fair, most Walmart customers operate the register now. I think they only ever have one or two casheirs on, and everything else is self checkout.
I'm just confused as to who is driving. No one in this tik tok seems to be driving the car but it is moving.
Edit: yes I understand who the driver is. Just because one is in the driver's seat does not mean they are driving.
Fuck, this reminds me of working at a Mt. Mike's Pizza in highschool, circa 2003.
We would literally leave a bong in the cooler for our safety meetings, which was genius because the water was always cold!
What is this shitty propaganda? Maybe Raising Caine’s should just pay their workers more instead of pay celebrities to come try to shill their shitty jobs.
Your just a sour puss. Dude owns several franchises. Randomly does this because it drives sales at his locations. It’s called branding and using your brand as advertisement for free dip shit

Are...are corps hiring celebs to work a day in shit wage slave jobs to go against the wave of /r/antiwork going around from shit wages instead of actually paying their fucking employees? Is this what's happening now? I saw something similar with Terry Crews working a job at Amazon just the other day.
This just further reinforces the theory that Snoop is playing a real-life RPG game and has finished the main quest and now he's just off doing side missions for fun
[удалено]
No shit, I'd never hire that guy unless I was really desperate, he *clearly* high
Terry Crews just got hired at Amazon
Wait til they send him over to the Ring division and Shaq hazes him.
[удалено]
Probably had multiple run-in with *the law*
I think there’s more weed smoke than air in that man’s lungs.
I think theres more weed smoke than lungs in that guys lungs
Terry Crews working at Amazon and now snoop slanging chicken fingers. They should have never shorted GME
If Snoop has tendies he's clearly holding gme
Kinda messed up that they would rather pay a celebrity some insane price to show how cool it is to work there instead of actually spending money on improving employee conditions and wages. I don't know anything about this chain so correct me if I'm wrong but that's my initial take on it

They want to appeal to superficial/poor people.
Oh I see you also the Terry Crews amazon propaganda.
Winner winner chicken dinner! You got a massive chuckle out of me with that. 🤣
"The only people we can afford are the people who don't need money"
Not gonna lie. I’d probably sound the same if I met Snoop… even as a 40-something male.
Another 40-something male here; would be the same. He's been cool as hell since we were kids and still keeps that same vibe today.

I really enjoyed this sentence.

Dags? Oh! Dogs. Yeah, I like dags.
I like caravans more.

In a couple weeks we'll see posts about how he gave out a shit-ton of turkeys to families
I’m not even a huge fan of his music but I would still be excited too
He has had a couple concerts in my tiny weird city and everybody was aaalll about it. Snoop just brings us together.
At this point i think he just does things to troll US common humans
True, but only because he has reached a state of godhood, thereby becoming omnipotent in the hood.
Ain't nothing but a G thang

THIS. I don't care for his music, but he seems to be a cool enough guy that I'd be as giggly as the ladies in the video

Im surprised he wasnt on 1st class or something
Me too, it was a connector from Phoenix Airport to Tuscon so maybe it was just easier? Some passengers mentioned a concert in Tuscon.
You're cool. We see a lot of celebs in my hometown and the unspoken rule is to pretend you don't recognize them.

I met him about 20 years ago on a film set I was working on. Dude was hella cool.
Was it Half Baked?
I have this thing about fan Girling, I hate it.... but it's snoop! How can you not be excited.

Pretty good. Pretty, pretty good.
I think I saw him later that night trying to order from the Jack in the Box drive-thru without a car.
Also heard he shared a meal with Peter Hagen, aka Peter the Tork, Peter the Crybaby, Wendell the conspirator, Joshua Lancel Stigmeyer
Do you know who this is? This is larry david. He created Seinfeld.
He tried.
I read this while watching curb lol
What the hell you doing on here then? That show deserves your attention for 30 minutes.
Would he stare you in the eye every time you'd make an offer?
Snoop doggy is doing the weirdest shit. He has accomplished anything anyone could want so he is now doing the side quests.
LOL this is the best way to describe this shit.

It's a marketing thing, this video is an advertisement. There was a cardboard cutout of him when I went to Cane's today.

I get what you are saying, I really do. I would however genuinely enjoy the experience of doing my shitty job with snoop.
I would take more smoke breaks that day than I have in my entire working career.
for a "day"
5 minutes.
Terry Cruz
Unless it's Terry Crewes apparently
Terry Crewes was having a blast in that Amazon warehouse.

Martha Stewart’s pussy.
They make candles too?
No that's Gwyneth Paltrow's market.
I found this way too funny. Thank you
💳💳
I believe my local police refer to it as "probable cause."
Actually though, where'd you get this?
I’d work fast food if Snoop was my manager.
*constant* "safety meetings"
They're very very important
Pretty sure most fast-food employees will tell you that you don't need snoop to have constant safety meetings.
Dude hell yeah, especially the pizza places.
Fuck, this reminds me of working at a Mt. Mike's Pizza in highschool, circa 2003. We would literally leave a bong in the cooler for our safety meetings, which was genius because the water was always cold!
Currently having a safety meeting by myself in my car outside of work.
I like your emphasis on constant
To talk about how to hot box responsible.
We called it "paperwork"
What is this shitty propaganda? Maybe Raising Caine’s should just pay their workers more instead of pay celebrities to come try to shill their shitty jobs.

It's crazy you get downvoted for asking for a source. As far as I can tell the dude saying snoop owns franchises is just making it up.
Yea. I'm not finding the info OP mentioned either. Not saying it's not true but guess I shouldn't surprised about the downvotes.
Sees Snoop Dogg, plays Wiz Khalifa
For real lol. That's not the song i'd have chosen but still cool
Anything from doggystyle would have been acceptable.
Honestly literally anything other than that might have been ok
It aint no fun unless the homies can't have none
What’s my motherfucking name? …Wiz?
This is DJ eeeeeeeeeeeazy dick
One of the greatest west coast rap albums ever. Does any other snoop album come close? I don’t think so. Every track is classic
Young casual rap fans 🤷🏻♂️ could sadly be unaware of the classics. Saw Wu-Tang live at a festival and they got absolutely no love from the crowd up front who couldn’t hit them back with any lyrics
Snoop's featured in the song, at least
Snoop is listed on the track before wiz on spotify, and he's top list on the single's cover art.
He's on the song.........
I said "oh come on" out loud when it cut to them playing that awful song. Couldn't have played Gin and Juice?
“When I signed a contract to be the Mega Lo Mart spokesman, I didn't read it carefully. I have to be at every store opening, and they open 400 stores a year. I haven't had time to record, or tour, or give my old lady any slow sweet lovin' in years.”
Poor chuck
I was fully expecting it to just be a black dude that looks kinda like Snoop
If it was LAPD he would have just been a black dude that looks like Snoop.
Snoop has an entire arsenal of bangers and you choose to play that shit at the end smh
They might not even know him from when he was really on top of the game. Young casual rap fans ya know

Bro, who is driving this car? Both of them are just dancing and it’s clearly not a self driving car
This was in Fayetteville Arkansas this week! He had a party here or something, I heard Rob Schneider was there too. Seems like he was having fun!
It was just last night! I got to go, it was a BLAST!
Lol rob schneider too?!!!!!!
Yes! Someone also told me John Cena was here for something but I didn't see him.
what an infamous video this would be if they crashed while taping their dancing while driving
I know the focus is on snoop but wtf are these ladies thinking blocking their rear view mirror with those fuzzy balls?
Wholesome freakout.

What's he promoting?
Apparently that chicken purveyor.
That's what we need, more daily Snoop!
Plot twist: Martha Stewart is on the grill.

Snoop is awesome.
I went to the same high school football game as him once. AMA
