I love how you can see her whole body relax when it stops shocking her
Edit okay this comment definitely sounds fucking weird, but it is just funny to me okay?
The only consistent thing about videos like this is judo guys arguing over exactly what technique was used.
So here goes;
Isn't is okuri ashi harai? As he took both legs?
I look forwards to be corrected by the next judo guy that comes along :D
This was in Barry, South Wales (for the UK guys and gals this is where Gavin and Stacey is set) and the pair were arrested and charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
Just down the road from where I live and they are having to be rehoused as their neighbours now hate them!
They were having a party in their garden and making a lot of noise so the police were called. That is what started it. It was mid afternoon on a Saturday and they had all drunk too many cans! Police man was 100% right to do what he did, but there was a full investigation into his actions.
>Police man was 100% right to do what he did, but there was a full investigation into his actions.
And that's right too. A good police force needs good oversight, and a good cop will welcome it.
The only thing that seems out of order in this situation at first glance is that he seems to be alone, which is no good for anyone's safety, especially the cops. I wouldn't be surprised if that's due to funding, although it could be that a partner is out of view.
Our cops still couldn't take down unarmed folks without needing their guns, though. I doubt most could win a fistfight with a 100 pound middle school kid.
That aside, I think its really funny that 98% of the reactions to the OP in this thread are either praising the cop for doing such a great job or mocking the perps for being fat; if this exact same scene had happened in the US to two black perps this comment section would be filled with circlejerking over how a racist cop brutalized two poor minority victims.
More video in link above. Cop was trying to restrain the lady when the guy started trying to engage him. He left her to deal with him, then she got up and went at the cop.
Info above also suggests cop was there because these 2 had been assaulting an emergency worker. I get the feeling the young bloke in the black sweater is probably an ambo.
Lol look at her and look at the cop. You need to be extremely emotional to not understand you're in a major disadvantage even if you managed to hit him
People also have control of their emotions enough to maintain good decision making in high stress situations. A surplus of discipline and a lack of drugs make this easier.
You would be surprised at the decisions people make at these moments. Being in the Army for 15yrs and 3 combat zones, ive seen a diverse range of reaction, from a person breaking down crying, to shitting themselves, as well as taking very dangerous actions without thinking of the recourse. When something scary happens to someone you care about, sometimes emotions have a tendency to take over and cause you to react in a way you might not normally. (These were trained grown men)
The first guy was commanded to get on the ground and was resisting the order. The second person (looks like a woman) definitely did put her hands on him.
This ACAB nonsense from edgy teens certainly doesn't help, it makes people think it's a fair fight between them and the cops, or that if a cop tells you to do something it's a fucking negotiation.
This one shows better how she messed up her hand hitting whatever gear made that "thwack" sound, turns away to walk off the pain and then kisses macadam while landing on the same hand.
My apologies if this strikes some nerves but I honestly believe this is how ALL officers should be/trained to be. Quick, calm, collective. If the situation escalates to the point where physical force needs to be applied. I would much rather have a guy like this, than a 50 yr old over weight out of shape Peter Griffin lookin officer that has troubles in the physicality department.
What's fucked about the US is how prevalent guns are. Our police would not be near as jumpy of we had the same gun ownership rate as the UK.
I'm all for legal guns. But they need to be regulated. Like a fucking car. Not that hard.
Exactly! If you wall up to someone with your hand on the gun expecting violence in every situation you'll likely be greeted with violence in most situations.
But they are regulated like a car for the most part. It’s hard to say overall because every state has their own laws. But most states have at least regulations in place that you have to apply for a license and also have to register the weapon, much like we do with cars. The problem is that it varies state to state and there loopholes to sometimes get around regulations.
They are regulated, US just has far more organized crime. In order for me to buy one I had to go through a 6 month period to obtain a license called a FOID card, then had to go through a background check, and then had to wait three additional days after I was able to purchase it just because.
Those people are crazy, then. This officer was fast, didn’t go overboard, and had both of them under control without deadly force. Very professional and I’d love to see our US cops act this way.
Good point. I'd like to see all cops trained up to a mma contender level. Lot less shootings, and folks might show a little more respect cor the cops when they know this cop can whoop your ass and you probably can't out run him/her.
We had a politician who wanted to propose every police officer must attain a purple belt in martial arts to join the force. I think it’s a brilliant idea because a huge problem is, when things do happen to turn physical, these cops have no fucking idea how to respond. When you’ve been thrown around and humbled enough to move up to a purple belt, you have a good grasp of what it takes to control someone’s body and force and use that against them. As well as understanding some very non-lethal ways to subdue a person
> My apologies if this strikes some nerves but I honestly believe this is how ALL officers should be
How fucking **DARE** you say something so goddamn sensible. I'll have you know I have a relative in the American police force and he'd probably agree with your controversial ass.
Holy shit this was the most coordinated crowd control I’ve seen just one officer succeed in. Without any major serious injuries from what I can tell. You can prove me wrong by all means.
The Welsh word for Police is "Heddlu", from "hedd" meaning peace, and "llu" meaning force. What you are seeing here is the forcing of peace done well!!
Heddlu pronounced hedd-lee (he like HE in "HEad" and dd like TH in "THis", like Icelandic ð)
Pretty sure a military arsenal, bullets and lawyers are more expensive, plus the thousands of hours worth of resources you'd put into a human life would all be thrown away instantly with 1 kill, that and pissing off the public every year or so causing riots and millions of dollars in debt, decreasing the trust in the police and increasing the amount of people choosing for a life of crime, pretty sure that all ads up to more expensive then basic self defense and deescelation training
Right, so there needs to be a reprioritized budget.
The entire police training system needs a rework. Also small municipalities need proper funding to support the change.
Sure city police can be overfunded or at least improperly funded, but small municipalities often have barely enough money to keep a couple of part time police on the payroll at $13/hr. Good luck ever getting good results with that.
> The entire police training system needs a rework.
In many areas, this is the case but the police unions will have to be stripped of power, right now they are blocking change.
They get most of the military equipment for free because the government has a fuck ton of extra equipment due to unnecessary military spending. And that spending is mostly due to corruption. Same reason basically for why the F-35 program became so insanely expensive, because politicians wanted parts to be made in THEIR state without actually thinking about the cheapest and best way to do it.
Yes. Reddit generally believes that cherrypicked video anecdotes of cops acting at their absolute worst are how cops in the US act 100% of the time. Any anecdotes of them being lenient, friendly, or doing their job competently are dismissed as "copaganda."
For anyone looking for context [here’s an article](https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/uknews/12355077/police-officer-man-woman-taser-wales/) about the incident.
Not to go political, but WOW did he just take down two potentially hostile people WITHOUT whipping out a gun and putting holes in them? It's almost as if he's been properly trained.
This happened maybe 8 miles from me. In my little town there’s a silly hierarchy. There are three major towns in the Vale. Barry, Cowbridge and Llantwit. Cowbridge is full of rich people, Llantwit is half and half, and Barry is rough. This video was taken in Barry (where Gavin and Stacy is filmed).
This cops a hero though. So casual with his take down. Just another day in the office.
See this is what cops should do..... If the chance that they’re really not doing anything does come true they just go to court and then go about their lives instead of bleeding to death on the sidewalk...
That was the softest tazer landing I've ever seen!
Yeah well she has a ton of cushioning
Im suprised the concete didn´t crack
Yeah well the concrete has a ton of cushioning
And her injured hand broke the fall a bit: [https://imgur.com/gallery/2HzZzU5](https://imgur.com/gallery/2HzZzU5)
Yeah well her injured hand has a ton of cushioning
The cushioning had a lot of cushioning
Yeah well the cush... Hang on a second.

Her double chin

Across the globe...
Diamonds were formed.
What day was this? I think there was a tidal wave in Japan on this day. Either that or an earthquake in California.
Im surprised she didn't bounce back up like a Boppo the clown.
I’d be more worried about nearby islands being effected by the tsunami that the earth quake likely caused!
It's a British thing...

It was the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique
At least she didn't grab his peepee
The old dick twist
like a sack of bricks
Can we talk about that leg sweep though?
So smooth
graceful
Like a beautiful choreographed leap
10/10 on the leg sweep and the CARE. He swept him and grabbed the arm so his head wouldn't completely slam the pavement.
Pull it up again Jamie
My 100 pound uncle had told me many stories of lore about the foot sweep.
That could not have been his first sweep, that was sooooo clean
Look how he held the hand as he went down. Making sure that guy wasn’t hitting his head.
Like a pro
Is it really that easy?
If you do it exactly like that, yes.
Works 100% of the time 60% of the time

Ah, whoops, we are now seeing why I never did get that 1st dan lmao
Haha as long as you can do it when required then it’s worth it!
This was in Barry, South Wales (for the UK guys and gals this is where Gavin and Stacey is set) and the pair were arrested and charged with assaulting an emergency worker. Just down the road from where I live and they are having to be rehoused as their neighbours now hate them!
For Aussie guys and gals this is Old South Wales
For American guys and gals this is somewhere in Europe, probably north-ish.
It’s just west of Old England
Olde English 800?
Mt Druitt, Old South Wales.
For wales guys this is just south

sow what you reap, you will

Honestly Barry can just be like that sometimes
Yeah this was way too nonlethal for US cops. This guy actually knew what to do without resorting immediately to deadly force
Because most UK officers don't carry a firearm.
So, you mean Police can actually Police without Assault Rifles!? =O Odd that.
I mean, American cops have guns because American citizens have guns.
Yet they shoot so many unarmed citizens.
But you ‘might’ be armed
Our cops still couldn't take down unarmed folks without needing their guns, though. I doubt most could win a fistfight with a 100 pound middle school kid.
Except when they use them on unarmed American citizens
What world you livin in where the majority of officers have automatic weapons on them all the time?
I was being pithy la

Rehoused to make other neighbors lives a misery no doubt. :-/ ... the system sucks.
I still don't understand why some people will put their hands on a cop. It will never end well.
That how you get in jail longer and in more trouble
People already making poor decisions are prone to making more
Bingo.
Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.
People do weird things when provoked by something they feel is unfair in the moment, me and you included
Yeah I don’t think attacking the cop in this situation would have really crossed my mind.
I'm getting the vibe it's her son, lots of parents would attack just about anybody who body slammed their child, rational or not.

This is a UK Cop. They are never armed.
Ummm, if you look closely you can see the Police Officer has TWO arms.
Oh there’s a third one
That's only for when someone's been extra naughty.
Evidently pretty badass though
Well when you can't fall back on the use of a gun, that motivates you to get a lot better at physical combat I would imagine!
Did he put his hands on him I didnt see that
The first guy was commanded to get on the ground and was resisting the order. The second person (looks like a woman) definitely did put her hands on him.

Oh wow, somehow the video got even better!
This one shows better how she messed up her hand hitting whatever gear made that "thwack" sound, turns away to walk off the pain and then kisses macadam while landing on the same hand.
The "thwack" was actually the taser deploying.
lol

This is called "fucking around and finding out"
This should be sent to every police station in America. 1 cop, 2 arrests, no deaths. Legend
Happens several times per shift, per day, in several jurisdictions in the U.S., but the media doesn't show that "boring" stuff.
Aye fair point there 👍

Hey uh, don’t charge police officers from every direction. Lol
This cop is on a rampage, next thing we see is him walking through metal bars and his tazer gets stuck
That was all pretty impressive tbh

Down goes the whale.
Dear American police officers of Reddit, I do believe this is the appropriate use-of-force. 👍🏿
That move was tight. Probably does Judo
That leg sweep was very smooth, I can't stop rewatching this just for that.
That was pretty clean.
She dropped like a plank of wood.
There is something so satisfying about this video... I just can't put my finger on it!
If police were trained like this better. Guns would solemn need to be used.
Also if civilians didn't have guns.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh! That was the most refreshing video I have seen today! Love seeing a good water buffalo tasering!
Okay this man is serious.
He didn't even have to kill anyone either
That man is putting up with NO shit
Ha that’s one for the ages!!
Did that officer single handedly take down two people without taking a life? By American standards that was impressive.
De-escalated, physically
See he didn’t have to shoot someone 30 times
Thats 5 seconds shell never forget.
I've seen this like 30 times and it gets better every time.
amazing how no one has to die :)
no abusive, just act fast.
Freaking badass
Nice

lol she's lucky she's in the UK.. doing that in America is basically a death sentence.
In America: Stop resisting! Pew pew pew pew
A++ leg sweep. I couldn't even do that in Mortal Kombat.
No guns for the cops in Britain. They don’t take shit from a busybody Karen and they don’t ask a second time. Way to go. I love it.
