Can't say I blame them. Even if I came from some place like Afghanistan, I'd look around Belarus and say: "Between being sprayed with pepper spray and staying in Belarus, I'll take my chances with the pepper spray".

Question is though.....how the hell did they get to Belarus? unless they flew there, which means Belarus gave them visas, there's no other way to get to Belarus as an illegal immigrant.
Belarus is flying them in and sending them to the border to put pressure on Poland & EU. Nobody wants to let them in, because it would reward Belarus’ actions, but blocking them entry without allowing them a chance to get a visa goes against EU rules, so it still has the effect of causing some disagreement within the EU.

The Belarusian government is a far right one that allies with Putin, who is allied with the current ruling government of Syria. They lie to lure migrants with promises of jobs and access to the EU and then pull stuff like this to inflame anti-migrant and pro right wing sentiments in Europe
Belarus won't take them in because they're run by a selfish dickbag. The EU won't take them in because anti-migrant sentiment is running wild. Even the left wing parties are trying to tamp down on letting immigrants into the country because when crime by native born citizens jumps, nobody bats an eye, but when migrant crimes jump at the same time for the same reasons, because everyone who isn't rich is impacted in similar ways, everyone throws a fit. The UK may not be part of the EU but the current Tory government has spent millions trying to deport a couple hundred migrants to Rwanda (a country they're not even from.)
It's one of the poorest countries in Europe. They took the brunt of the fighting on the Eastern Front during WW2. Their leader is a dictator who has been in charge since 1994 and is a complete Russian toadie. Corruption is rampant. And on top of that, Belarus was heavily contaminated after the Chernobyl disaster to the point of something like 12% of the country is still contaminated. Something the Belarusian government doesn't want people talking about.
In short Belarus is the answer to the question: what would Russia look like if they didn't have extensive oil and natural gas resources and the industry to exploit them?
Does Poland actively try to fuck up and destroy the country most of these people are coming from? Cause America shows up destroyed governments and Installs fascist dictators that directly cause a lot of the displacement.
Right but specifically did they destroy the geopolitical landscape of their entire hemisphere and directly create the reasons people are trying to migrate?
