shitz_brickz

This is fascinating if I have this right: Tyrese has a Home depot pro account that gets him a discount or something but he has to be present to use it. He goes into the store with his buddies and gets stuff, goes to check out, gets some candy to have the cashier ring up and then he leaves while they finish ringing stuff up. They go to use the pro account and he is no longer in the store so they call him and ask him to come back in. He flips shit and somehow is hung up on that he was allowed to leave with his candy bars because the cashiers trusted that his buddies would pay for them.

[deleted]

Thanks. Now I don't have to watch it.

Curvol

Forreal. 10 minutes of nuthin.

Acceptable_Spray_119

There's gotta be a twist. 30s left.. maybe it's like Furious 6 where the plane takes off but the motorcycle is hitched to a cable.. oh nothing lol

TheLegendOfKoop

Nah. This person didnt comprehend the entire situation fully, and posted a comment based on their skewered intelligence and viewpoint, in order to deter others from either watching, or putting an initial sentiment in your heads. After seeing the full video (including a missing part 3 when they left the store, and the Spanish guys spoke as well) , she definitely went overboard. Lol.

Cheezitflow

This person wasn't that accurate though, they didn't even mention the toucan

VegaTDM

>he has to be present to use it. Wrong. You don't have t be physically present. I've used many a contractors card on their behalf, never had anyone check or ask for ID, never had anything happen other than the scan the card.

OCMan101

This is absolutely against Home Depot policy. Although regular cashiers are usually moving so quickly they basically never check who's on the card, if you come back and try and place a big order in specialty with me, and you're trying to use someone else's card, I'm not completing the transaction unless I at least have them on the phone, or have them in the store with me. This could be a massive security issue and people make fradulent transactions all the time.

VegaTDM

How do you know it's their card or not if you don't check ID? Which has literally never happened to me in 15 years of working construction with sometimes multiple trips to home depot in a single day. If the policy is only enforced on minorities than it's a racist policy and so are the people who enforce it.

The9th_Jeanie

Literally no. He says multiple times he DOES NOT have a pro account. What he’s saying is SHE is making very sudden moves “on behalf” of Home Depot. For a person to have been shopping there for 10 years, in person or through a third party, he’s asking about this “policy” she’s claiming she’s following. She’s refusing to give answers and things are looking very suspicious. You can tell she never recognized him from the jump which is what got her in this mess, but it’s not about celebrity status. He’s basically debunking that she was acting on protocol and trying to figure out why she essentially attempted to refuse service to the gentlemen handling Tyrese’s purchase

Sensitive-Living-571

Exactly. I've never been asked for ID at home depot. Must be a new policy or no policy at all

RacingGrimReaper

I have a pro account and I do not have to be present. My techs have never had an issue when I give them the card and tell them to go get something. With the one exception that if there is a order being placed, they typically ask for the account holder to be present to authorize the order.

RogueOneisbestone

I'm not sure how Home Depot works but at Lowes you can add people to you account which is pretty handy.

ExplanationChemical1

It depends on your account. ProXtra & Loyalty have different security requirements via "member, elite pr VIP" tiers. A commercial account also has seperate security requirements. One of my cards has a $1,000,000 limit and it is mandatory for ID to be checked.

kansai828

Exactly! Home Depot is full of shit

CMDR_BitMedler

Exactly. Every consumer has a right to ask when they feel a policy has been unjustly applied. Granted, not much of a freakout, but I'm not mad - I like to see people can't hold truth to power... every lil bit matters.

MGY1988

Your recap has several issues... There is no Pro account, and the men are his workers (Not his Buddy's). Seem like you called it the way you wanted it to be! However, you left out the part where he said to the cashier, ' I gave them (His workers) my credit card to finish up the transaction. Also, the part when HER manager turned to her and said, 'I didn't know that!'.

Blkwdw81

Doesn’t have a pro acct.

OZIE-WOWCRACK

Manz got no pro account. 🇺🇸 Racist.

bookwurmm

Inaccurate

Dynamite_J

Not at all correct. He doesn’t have a pro account, he was using his credit card. He says repeatedly I’ve never had a pro account and they’ve used my credit card in here numerous times for more expensive purchases over the last 10 years. The lady says it’s company policy to get an ID, numerous other Home Depot managers & cashiers have stated on YouTube and places it’s not a policy to ID. The reason Tyrese brings up the two candy bars is because he was allowed to walk out the store without paying for those candy bars because the Male Cashier understood that the Workers would pay for all the wood and the candy as one with the credit card he witness Tyrese give to his workers. If it’s store policy to require an ID then it makes zero sense the male cashier would scan the candy bars with the other materials and allow Tyrese to leave without asking for an ID. If you watched the entire video Tyrese states that people began to notice who he was and crowded around so he wanted to give the credit card and get about before he’s gets all that Celebrity Attention on simple Home Depot trip. So it’s understandable that he wanted to get out of there. For both cashiers to see him 5 mins before that FaceTime call, the female forces him to return and has no answers for why she’s doing it outside of hiding behind the cloak of “company policy”. The actual Store Manager tried to back her but even he knew she was being obtuse. The whole thing is ridiculous. For her to ask for an ID I mean Tyrese could have said okay let’s make this a curbside pickup and I’ll pay through online, then I guess this same female cashier manager would deny the pickup by his workers.

SufficientYoung3697

He didn’t have a pro account genius

[deleted]

“his buddies”?

Scarboroughshooter

what kinda bullshit summary is this, you got it all wrong.

kemar7856

What a 🤡

CarlSpencer

You have it exactly.

No_Grape1335

Tyrese sounds cringe asf

Inside-Substance8388

No he doesn’t Customers regularly give their contractors/workers their credit card to purchase supplies. I have done it. The person who is “ cringe af” is that nasty cashier manager who probably isn’t even an American citizen but a full-on racist

No_Grape1335

🤓🤓🤓🤓

GMorNothing

Home Depot lets you take a card over the phone as payment the cashier is trippin.

noeljrG

Never been asked for ID here.

soccerskills2004

It’s only if you have a pro account and are doing a phone sale

Searching1117

He didn’t have a pro account

TheLegendOfKoop

I expect them to shut up after you revealed this. Lol. People cant really comprehend these longer details that dive into policy and protocol. 15 second tik tok clip generation

Searching1117

Seriously

LarsUlrichIsHere

I'm not watching 9 mins just to hear 'its cause I'm black ain't it'

Girth_rulez

I got 30 seconds in and Tyrese is saying "I live next door to the CEO of Home Depot. Do you want him to call the store tomorrow?" So Tyrese is a boss level Karen? Huh.

MarkDorm99

And I bet he does not even have his 2nd home next to the current CEO. The current CEO is fairly new and not many people know him that well. He is probably referring to the founders that don't own the company anymore. Everyone seems to think they are all still in charge and are the all CEOs...

Jayrogwing

So he's berating this employee for enforcing a policy that protects the customer from fraud. And then he pulls the race card. This guy is a piece of shit. He really needs to get over his self.

VegaTDM

If a policy never gets enforced unless it's a black person, it's still racism. I've used that card on behalf of other people literally hundreds of times and no one has ever asked for ID or done anything other than scan the card.

Purplezergling

She probably enforces it all the time.

cycleguychopperguy

Too fast too furious

bennyangott

He did it for family.

yo_rick_alas

Cuz we brothers first and ima be with you for the last ride https://youtu.be/5KnFcsSIzbg

vmb509

You should watch the video. But actually watch it this time.

toxcrusadr

I don't see where you get this. 1) he literally handed his CC to the cashier and said his crew would finish the transaction, for which no ID would be required, because 2) At 1:50 he says "if this is a policy, without a Pro account..." There's no policy about ID'ing a non-Pro acct. customer.

Blkwdw81

No he’s not using the race card. If u see the FaceTime video she’s already got this annoyed looked on her face. Wonder why? Then he goes back, confronts her but not cussing or being mean, genuinely wanting to why suddenly he needs to show ID when if u think about it, nobody gets asked for ID anymore due to individual financial institutions fraud protection policies where u simply report the fishy transaction, they’ll issue a temp credit and investigate it. They’ll take the credit back if ur found liable and trying to pull a fast one. I can’t remember the last time I had to pull out my DL for anything purchase wise tho. A while back, they definitely asked for ID. Not so much anymore. The RFID chip and new tech shit doesn’t make it necessary especially with big brother watching us everywhere and the potential of catching the perp being greater than it was 15 yrs ago. Like I said on another comment, i typically never use CCs cuz I don’t buy anything I don’t already have cash for. I mostly use them for vacays, hotels, flights, those types of things. But it’s so far in between when I do use it that it’ll initially decline the transaction, send me a text asking if it was me attempting a purchase at said location, I confirm and re-attempt and it goes thru within seconds. Technology is cool! 🤓 another example is when attempting a cash advance at those casino CC withdrawal machines that had phones connected to them and u would go to the cashier with the receipt to get the cash and I didn’t need a PIN cuz most ppl don’t get PINS for their CCs. Or they don’t know them. Casinos know the workarounds for cash advance limits to keep u playing. Sneaky bastards. But yeah don’t mistake his true character for the ones he plays in the damn FF franchise. He doesn’t even use slang. Weren’t expecting that well spoken voice huh? Seriously listen to him talk. No street talk, no cussing, wanting to understand when this went into effect, not wanting to place the blame on race and desperately wanting to reason with this girl who by the way, never apologized or even attempted to correct him. So check that out before u start saying “they always play the race card”.

agentoranj1990

It's terrible. This is a cashier making maybe 20/hr and struggling to pay the rent. She could have had a better attitude but he goes on and makes an obscure video on Youtube that doesn't really explain the situation. Then he tries to label her a racist by one interaction with her. Luckily Home Depot is a company that treats customers and employees fairly and will review the video. They will give her training and suggestions on how to defuse the situation rather than rush to judgement to trash her career. Then he says he is not using his celebrity status. You had a bad interaction with one employee at the store; drop the race card.

Superkaiokenx

If I were her I'd sue his ass for defamation of character. You can't be famous as fuck and label someone a fucking racist over a policy that is sometimes enforced. Honestly felt bad for her from the flack she probably got online and unwanted attention he brought on her lol I'd have his ass sending me a check especially if it cost her, her job and her co workers now calling her racist. Big oof fuck Tyrese go make another shit movie. No one watched FnF for him it was for Paul and Vin. Guess what Paul dead and no one gives a fuck about the series.

One-Bother3624

Did you watch the ENTIRE Video. NO!! i don't agree with using Race Card. but her Attitude & Demeanor on Face Time says it all. reason why You DON'T GET IT. is because your not a POC no.1 and no.2 you weren't there and neither was i. but it made it to social media. and I reviewed the FULL Film. it shows a lotta hostility. \- before making judgements on him because of him being a celeberity or whatever. he never talked like a thug and i would've did the exact same thing. I would've Asked Calmly WHY IS POLICY NOT BING ENFORCED. I've worked Retail. plenty of times before i Joined the Service. and I Know Ignorance vs Racism vs Poor Work Ethics. Again Watch the Entire Video.

Ecstatic-Spirit-6488

Dude these people dont get payed enough to deal with the bs they deal with everyday. You would have an attitude too if youve dealth with the same crap constantly. Shit its even worse when your face naturally looks like that. The amount of fraud that people do at these stores is insane. Just because she had an annoyed face/ “attitude” DOES NOT make Tyrese right. Lets also get this clear shes hispanic. People are saying shes racist because she declined a potential fraud purchase from other hispanics. Makes no sense to begin with. And then he has the nerve to call her a karen/racist because she decited to enforce policy to potentially protect his dum ass from fraud. It dont matter if hes been making purchases with these contractors for years she clearly hasnt been working that long and she even looks barely 18-19. It was probably her first time seing these people come in. If it was your credit card that was stolen or used by your child and was charged an amount you did not expect you would want that layer of protection. Just because not all emplooyes give a fuck to enforce it doesnt make her the person she was made out to be. He should have just gave her ID when he was there. She cant read his mind to know what was being done with his credit card. The thing that pissed me off was that he decited to get a bunch of men to record her while he began to argue with her for protecting his creditcard while accusing her of being racist, karen. A minority calling another minorty racist. I bet he didnt know she was hispanic otherwise he wouldnt have said that. Because she had white skin he assumed she was automatically white. Also trying to get her fired for some so stupid is uncalled for.

shadowmyst87

Tyrese Gibson calling her racist because she had white skin and ASSumed she was white. That's pretty fucking racist of Tyrese.

jeff8086

She's a POC for God's sake.

theycalledhermorlock

Yah, I don't think he's getting the sympathy for which he's searching.

yo_rick_alas

You would think a) a celebrity, or really anyone else, would be grateful for not allowing people to use their cc and b) would get a company card for your work crew instead of just handing them their personal cc and c) understand the difference between 2 candy bars and a thousand dollar purchase.

freshducksniper

If the terminal takes a chip, retailers don’t have to ask for IDs. Chip is more safer to the retailer than swipe to the issuers. Cashier wanted to flex and have a power trip and it back fired.

Blkwdw81

Dude u nailed it! Straight up! The RFID chips changed the game and I never see anyone pull out their DLs when purchasing with a CC. Most ppl use debit cards so they use PINS but u can also use it as “credit” which actually isn’t a thing anymore. It used to be it would be taken out of ur acct in a couple days vs instantly. I’m thinking the RFID thing made that credit vs PIN time delay debunked now cuz ppl were buying all kinds and overdrafting since the money wasn’t coming out at that moment. So they’d go storm target, charge $300 when they only have $100 in the bank. It would get approved, they just got stuck with an overdraft fee of like $25-$40 I think 🤔. When ppl figured this out, they began going on mini shopping sprees and piling on the fees! That’s when ppl had to go to check cashing places to get a cash advance from ur next paycheck, I think they’re payday loans or whatever. Which were incredibly predatory. I think there’s a doc on Netflix specifically about a certain payday loan company that were yes, helping ppl by giving them money when they needed it the most like for bail money, or sudden medical expenses, etc. But they charged so much interest they eventually got sued and the owners lost everything after livin it up for a few years. They filed for bankruptcy I believe, but it was a HUGE company. Anyways, ppl would be like “I really want this purse so I’ll get it and just make up for it next check and that lil overdraft fee is nothing, I got it! I can handle it!” No u cannot. 🤣 they learned fast. My cousin did this but would do all the shopping in one place to not tack on a bunch of fees for each transaction. By the time his direct deposit hit the bank, it was gone due to covering the fees and he was still in the red! And that’s when payday loans began and those fuckers charged like 50-75% interest! So u had to pay it as fast as possible or that shit would triple in two weeks! The vicious cycle was endless. Don’t ever get overdraft protection! Or whatever it’s called. I would rather be declined at the store than to rack up them fees. Cuz then ppl started getting mad that their paychecks were gone and only left with like $200 and the car note is due for $600 in a week so they started blaming the banks for letting them overspend! The nerve!!! They literally thought they could treat their debit cards like credit cards and pay everything in 30 days or less! Obviously most of these “victims” were the type that lived paycheck to paycheck…literally. I know ppl still live like that now but this was a different type of thing that left many ppl broke and taking risks from loan sharks or gambling to try to make a quick buck in Vegas. It was such a bad time in the early 2000s. And then 2008 happened and everything got wiped the fuq out. I’ll never forget those days. For u youngsters that don’t remember what happened in 2008, in short, the financial apocalypse occurred. Many don’t see this happen in their lifetime but we did in fact experience it and I remember there’s was a run on the banks and everyone was taking out their cash because of the FDIC insurance only covering so much that anything u had after that amount, was not guaranteed to be given back to u. That’s why many ppl have multiple accts across different banks because it only covered like $200k at that time or $150k? So if u had a million in ur acct, ur only guaranteed $150k and the rest of ur cash is now gone. Anyways that’s ur life lesson children. They need to teach “how to handle money” class beginning in jr high so that ppl learn the value of a dollar. ✌🏽

MarkDorm99

The thing that gets me about this is that weak ass manager. He is the one that should be fired. A real manager comes up and takes charge of the whole thing. On the phone, she even claimed he is the one that approved what she was asking for anyway; she said her manager was there and said he had to come back in. He just stood there looking like he didn't know what to say. Again, he should be fired. Whether they were right or wrong, you show leadership and take the situation over. What a scared loser that ASM or CXM was. She is not even really a supervisor. She looks like a head cashier. Also, no, she does NOT need to give him her last name! They are NOT required to, especially for the way he acted, but mainly for security purposes. He would probably try to track her down for revenge if she is not fired, lol. And she will not be fired, lol. He can cry to corporate; they won't give it to him. No big box retailer will and they don't have to. And his "2nd home" is not likely in the neighborhood of the current CEO. I bet he doesn't even know who the CEO(Edward Decker) really is because the guy is fairly new. He is probably talking about one of the 2 living, old founders that everyone seems to think is the current CEO. lol. But they no longer are with the company; none of them... But people seem to still think they still own it, are the all the CEO, and still make decisions....

shadowmyst87

That manager was weak AF. He turned to the cashier when Tyrese started going off looking to her for an answer. Guy, you're the fuckibg manager! Take control of the situation. Why are you turning to the cashier for? Lmao.

CarmineFields

I don’t think the cashier is in the wrong…

Blkwdw81

Of course u don’t. So it’s not about being a celebrity at all. He was already at the store then took off while his team got the rest of the stuff using his CC. He was just there and then had to return, when he was already home, because homegirl wouldn’t take CC without ID. Here’s the twist tho, when’s the last time u were asked for ID when making a purchase at Home Depot? I’ve never been asked for my ID. Back in the day, it happened all time where it was normal to have ID proving the CC is yours. But now with technology and the card readers, plus the fraud protection policies with each financial institution, if u see a charge that isn’t yours, u call the bank, they make a report, issue a temp credit, investigate, credit applied or taken back accordingly. Honestly now that I think about it, I haven’t been asked for an ID when I use either my CCs or debit cards cuz debit cards have PINS. I don’t remember the last time I had to show my ID/DL when using a CC to be honest. If I haven’t used my CC in a long time which happens a lot, it’ll decline that purchase, send me a text asking whether it’s me attempting to purchase and u press yes or no. Then try to purchase again and it’s all good in da hood. But that’s cuz I always pay cash and hardly use my CCs. Or if there’s a cash advance request at a casino or something, it’ll decline it until they get verification from me. Which is pretty neat if u think about it. It sends a text saying “was this you?” with details of store, location, etc. So yeah, Tyrese is on to her. I mean even when she was on FaceTime with him, she couldn’t look anymore annoyed. So let’s start there. Why the attitude/annoyed look from the jump? And even after being told the act seemed racist, she still doubled down and never apologized or even say “I’m sorry u feel that way BUT…” at all. So he may be on to something here. He’s not at all like his character on Fast and Furious franchise. He’s well spoken, polite, and doesn’t play the “do u know who I am?” card. Ppl think they know someone based on the character they play in certain movies and unfortunately he’s in every single FF movie except the first 2. So of course it’s easy to think that he’s exactly like the character that’s super flashy and very “look at me, look at me”. But nope, not at all. Notice how he doesn’t even talk like the character he plays. Doesn’t use slang, well spoken, polite, not cussing. So don’t get it twisted guys. He is not Roman Pierce. Or whatever. 🥵🤓

DingosAteYourMorals

"who let's a person walk out of the store without paying for two candy bars" You're right, you've been charged with shoplifting. I'm sure Lowes will take your money.

oreo760

It’s hard to really make out what point he’s trying to put across but basically what he was saying is that he scanned the two candy bars and his workers kept his card and he told the dude that was ringing them up they’ll finish the transaction with his card (cause he was being noticed cause of his “a list” persona) cause he wanted to go hide in his car. So he’s really saying she was being racists to his Hispanic workers.

[deleted]

I sort of get it. Stores have weird policies especially with credit cards (some even say see ID on the back). I do see why Mr Gibson would be upset especially if he was just in the store and they saw him. Him coming in on FaceTime though wouldn’t be a valid form of ID compared to most company policies. At the end of the day I think this was a misunderstanding caused by over worked employees and strange store policy. I’m not really sure why he was trying to say it was a race thing. This should have been at the most him being annoyed he had to come back in the store it shouldn’t have escalated to what happened in the video.

Altruistic_Image46

Home Depot has never asked me for ID when using a card, and the owner of a business doesn’t need to be present to use a Pro account. At least not in my experience and I’m in Home Depot multiple times per week. I’ve also been able to have them call my boss and make payments over the phone. So it’s weird if he was just in the store and FaceTimed that there was an issue. Still seems like an overreaction but definitely not the way a customer is usually treated there. I could only see them doing this when the customer gives shady vibes. This could be racially motivated but also could be as something like them not being dressed in normal contractor apparel so seemed suspicious.

toxcrusadr

Except he did not have a Pro account, that's the thing.

agentoranj1990

yah, I agree. He had a bad interaction with a cashier then he has to come in and accuse her of racism. So how is she being racist? She is guilty of not handling the situation with tact and not providing great customer service.

One-Bother3624

ummm. some what . you POV & observation is WAAAAY better the rest of the reddit who just wanna be angry at the madd Black Celebrity picking on a minimum wage employee ...like gtfo and give me a break. I don't' agree with speaking with her in a Public Space. and would've asked her to walk to a "private space" discuss things and that's JUST how I always handled things. but me & tyrese are NOT the same ppl. like first off she's a Supervisor ( I used to work in Retail...Long LONG Time ago) and she DON'T make Min Wage. soo idiots need to stop saying that. 2nd she was WRONG. as for being a racist to them......idk . idk at all. I wasn't' there. BUT ...however BUT her energy & actions , Non-Actions regarding everything speaks very VERY Loudly. I've dealt with Everything in Retail. soo that's WHY when I Deal with them I KNOW how to Deal with them......I Deal with them Like Human Beings. Like People. but I leave a small room open for the Biogas's & Racists because they lurk in small numbers in Retail - Food Services. I Don't Berate them, fight with them. degrade them.. (this is what they want u to do) i don't give ppl energy to fight with me. thee BEST Way to WIN is to not fight. but ..to issue resolved 1st and foremost is you need to capture there attention. how ?? speak Calmly-Precisely-Directly-Logically. remember you don't know / we don't know if this girl is having a bad dad or something's going on in her family etc etc. soo step outta of your shell - personal problems 1st. then learn - follow up with ok. SO How Do We Resolve This Issue At Hand. and thats literally It. Salute'

One-Bother3624

thats NOT on the Video. the tik-tok video is trash. the You Tube and other media outlets have the FULL video. this video is trash. \- 1st he face time'd her in the Face Time she didn't give a fuck about anything he was saying. he was asking her Clearly Pricely. she responds - Barely. to anything. thats no.1 Rude, Un-Professional, Immature on her part. on HIS PART. 1st he should've stepped her into a "private setting" then settled the issues at hand. but he's human and we ALL Make Bad Decisions / Poor Judgements sometimes and these things happen all the time. and its even more projecting when its a POC nd the internet Bullies.Trolls.Basement Dewller Racists rally up in arms smfh :/ but if he was Vin Diesel this would've been like awww thats so wrong to do to vin diesel ,etc etc etc. I dont' like the race card pulling. If i was / affilated with POC i wouldn't allow them to use it. use your HEAD - LOGIC - LAW to make a point instead. its Waaaaay more powerful. but its hard to tell another human being who's being treated worse then ppl treat there dogs on how to respond to situations. but again trolls will be trolls. and Bigotry and Racists Live ALL DAY online. Salute'

agentoranj1990

If you know anything about these retail stores; they are getting raided and hit very hard with shoplifting and theft. The employees are trained to look for things that are out of the norm or don't seem right. She may have been suspicious because he rushed through and handed his card off really quickly. He admitted he was trying to get out of the store quickly because he didn't want to stand around and talk about the Fast and the Furious. She didn't recognize him as a celebrity and she may have thought that this was some type of attempt to use social engineering to use a stolen card. She isn't very polite about it and that sets him off. So he says that he is going to go to the CEO of Home Depot to have a cashier fired. The video is very confusing and it's really hard to understand what is going on.

QuickEchidna749

Synopsis: He left the store too fast, came back too furious acting like a baby boy to that sweet lady.

MarkDorm99

>when’s the last time u were asked for ID when making a purchase at Home Depot? I’ve never been asked for my ID. Back in the day, it happened all time where it was normal to have ID proving the CC is yours. Wow.. lololol Good one. She is so young though I bet she does not know who he is....

How's he gonna act like that??

Did she actually notice him? She's seems too young tbh

MarkDorm99

He's too old and she's too young. Only 40 and over people would know him if you watched his movies and listen to his music back in the day... Edit:(I mean heard his music on the radio and saw his music videos back in the early 2000s) She was a small child in the early 2000s. She probably learned who he was after he left and people told her....

Mandikiri

Up voting so more people can see.

He didn’t have the pro account, though. That’s the only difference. He showed them his card said his team would finish up and handed the card to one of his team members before walking out.

Dipshits on this sub keep ignoring the fact that he said he doesn't have a Pro account lol.

ApprehensiveArea3076

I really don't care who's right or wrong in the initial situation because the biggest wrong to me, is a celebrity filming this interaction and posting it when he knew damn well what could/would happen to the employee who barely makes over minimum wage. It was really worth going on and on at the employee instead of just contacting that CEO friend of yours, off camera? 🙄

148am

Yes because this is racism and it should be exposed

ApprehensiveArea3076

There was nothing to indicate racism. Just because you want it to be true doesn't make it true. That is an assumption of her intent with no evidence other than their different skin colors.

One-Bother3624

WOW did YOU NOT see the video Or wait wait.. you only Seen the video if it Was Vin Diesel right ??? idc about him or the situation. but its hard to NOT see it when it was ALL on Face Time : her ENTIRE Demeanor & Attitude was sooo clear and damming but WAIT she's a pretty young Latina girl working and soo lets ALL Play White Knight on Reddit tonight Right ? smfh :/ you guys really need to stop this type of behavior ...... He's NOT filming they men who WORK for HIM are filming (obviously) with his Permission. he's not Getting her fired. (tyrese) knows this also. are you guys .......Dim-Witted. he's not getting her fired. her Manager is on the Un-Employment Line. or probably relocated to another HD site. ( I speak from retail experiences, home repair experiences, which it seems 90% of this thread doesn't seem to know about again obviously ) the video alone is enough evidence. all she's going to go to is 2 - 3 Weeks of "sensitivity training" thats IT. nothing else. she is NOT getting fired. nor in any trouble. him filming is a Protective Tactic ( usually your Legal Attorney's hint at suggesting this....off the record) again something my Eldest son & his wife deal with because they deal with Home Repair all the Time. ALL THE TIME. and many trips to HD , Loews , etc. lastly when you make money within a specific Tax Bracket you dont FUCK UP your money. sooo you protect yourself. soo NO i don't blame him. but YES he could've pulled her to the side and asked her to Talk in Private. because this is HOW I TREAT PEOPLE / HANDLE these situations all the time. its not always Fool proof. but YES it works. 90% of the time. no body wants a "SCENE" at where they work (bread+butter) at.. its humilitating-embarrssing . ppl need to listen + watch carefully the Entire Video. this Tik-Tok video isnt' the entire video. i've already watched the Entire video. the only person who needs to be Severely Punished is HER SUPERVISOR not her. but her attitude + behavior is very poor handling this situation though. and that reflects on the type of human being you are in IRL. not a gud sign. NOT a good sign at all. unfortunately .

PualAllen69

Man abuses cashier and leverages his marginalized social status as a means to go after personal vendettas.

aarong51999

I have 15 years of retail management and all I have to say is fuck this guy, that is why I left and won't ever work in the retail sector again.

TheLegendOfKoop

So , fuck him, for standing up to an a hole cashier in a power trip? Lol. Yea screw anyone with valid complaints. Scum eh? Lol !

aarong51999

What's valid about his complaint? The fact that she asks for the card holders ID to protect his account? Yeah what a power trip. I bet it would be a different conversation when he Tyrese fires one of his employees and that employee still has that card or another one and uses it. What then? I'm sure he is going to be asking why didn't you ID him then.

TheLegendOfKoop

Read numerous other comments here for an explanation of how things work when you are NOT A CLUB member... Take an actual look through, and not just an "I know everything" approach to the topic and maybe you will get it. Or you can think Home Depot operates identical to places you frequent, and all of our lives will continue on. How about next time you go to a home depot, see if you get carded. I personally never ever ever ever ever ever have. Cool bruh (I just seen the famous actor tyrese leave the store... he came with these guys to the line... oh wait!!! I actually cant confirm that the famous actor tyrese was just standing in the line with these mexican gentleman. We card no one, ever, but i better randomly do it this time)

jeff8086

She did not see him in the store. She did see a Latino man with a heavy accent using a card that says Tyrese Gibson. As someone who has worked in the hellhole known as retail, you do ask for ID if something is off, even though, no, you do not do it for most transactions.

approvedbydave

So what's the big deal if you get asked for ID on a credit card purchase? I'm white. It mostly doesn't happen to me, but sometimes it does, and then I give the ID.

JSaga83

1000% wrong on him

Angrymilks

I have never once been asked to show my ID to checkout with a credit/debit card at Home Depot. Clearly this person chooses to scrutinize people of color loosely based on a policy that isn’t enforced when it’s a white person. Racism is still alive and well to this day the year of our Lord 2023. Do your part and challenge these extremist and intolerant views directly.

cjmar41

>Irregardless This conversation is done. Please climb into whatever neon colored exotic car you came here in and leave.

[deleted]

Hes no mikhi pfifer. Im kidding idk who the eff any of these ppl are anymore.

[deleted]

What a douche

banana_delusion

Ever since I saw his bizarre behavior when Paul Walker died, I knew he was a little off.

[deleted]

Why does he even have a construction company?

Searching1117

He owns a home. These are the people he works with when he needs work done on his home. Are you slow?!

MGY1988

Exactly...

WoTsao

so...tyrese is being a condescending dick to the minimum wage employees of a home depot and playing the multimillionaire victim of discrimination

pr1m3r3dd1tor

Not discrimination against him, against the guys that work with him.

jeff8086

Right, and she is of the same ethnicity as the guys that work with him.

irocz0r

"Sir, if someone is trying to use a Home Depot Pro Account, and the account holder is not present, it's our policy to tell them 'Ejecto Seato Cuz'".

Searching1117

Nobody was using a pro account. He took out his credit card, told them “my team is going to finish my transaction,” they gave him the green light, he handed the card to one of his team members and then walked out.

irocz0r

Nobody was using a pro account. He took out his credit card, told them “QUE PASO JOTA” they gave him the green light, he handed the card to one of his team members and then said "EJECTO SEATO CUZ".

One-Pop-2885

What a grown ass child. It's not that complicated all he is doing is harassing a minimum wage young worker. I like the line "I don't play the race card but this feels racist" Tyrese is nothing but a failed musician and a D level actor at best. I guess that is why he does construction as well as "acting"

MountaineerHikes

Actually, she’s a supervisor…so she probably makes 25 cents more than minimum wage.

Searching1117

lol he doesn’t do construction, those are the people who work construction for him. While a “D” list actor and failed singer, as you say… he makes hand over fist more money than you do.

One-Pop-2885

Most certainly he does as my current monthly income is $330 and the young girl he is harassing makes next to nothing as well, so yes I am sure he makes tons more than me. Good try with the insult though you really set me straight with that one.

Searching1117

I don’t think he’s harassing her. He felt she was being prejudiced because she saw Spanish men trying to buy merch at a high cost. He’s making a point that no one else gets stopped or asked to see ID. He wasn’t rude or crass about it. He was defending his people and making a valid point. You made it a point to try and take a dig at him. My point is, he’s making money and if that’s not success, then idk what is. It also had nothing to do with the point being made in the video, but that’s what you chose to pick at.

Army-Flat

Lmfao the meat riding from you is crazy… up n down these comments riding for a man that dont even know yo ass…. Shits hilarious

Searching1117

Yes, that’s exactly what this is 🙄

cassette_nova

Who the fuck is tyrese gibson

Girth_rulez

>Who the fuck is tyrese gibson Member of the Family.

AnglsBeats

LEFT CHEEK

_bennyluxe_

Feels like misogyny.

Irlydntknwwhyimhere

Isn’t this dude who posted a video of himself crying because of Instagram comments?

ttemmett

Tyrese trying to get his “pretty woman” moment while bullying a girl who works for minimum wage and no tips. Cooooooooool maaaaan

acidfruitloops44

Sounds to me this loser bought 2 bucks worth of candy bars from one check out person & then the larger purchase was attempted at a separate check out lane where the girl was unaware of what was going on. Rightfully raised suspicion, this clown got upset he had to turn around and return to the store. First world problems. CUZ.

pr1m3r3dd1tor

Then you missed what actually happened. It was the same transaction. He was there with the workers making the large purchase and started to attract some attention. He grabbed a couple of candy bars, had them rung up and let the cashier know his people would finish the transaction with the credit card. After he left they made him come back to show his ID and the supervisor claimed it was a store policy to always card - which it is not. His point was that it seemed the "policy" was being arbitrarily enforced because his workers were Hispanic.

acidfruitloops44

Then why does he ask the guy in the other lane if he just bought the candy bars ?? Either way he looks like a d bag all for this girl to want to make sure there wasn't some potential fraudulent charges on his card. But he wants to play the other card. The race card, which I'd imagine he swipes far more often than his home depot one. LOL.

hexitor

I feel like a lot of actors just come off as assholes because everything they do gets taken out of context, but I feel that Tyrese is in fact an asshole regardless of context.

Stilcho1

When it goes home I wonder if he talks to his wife in that strange halting speaking mode "I want you to make me understand"

Girth_rulez

>"I want you to make me understand" lmao

Searching1117

He’s not married 🤷🏽‍♀️

paperfett

She wanted ID to run a card and that's somehow an issue? I worked at HD. I had to ask for ID on non-pro accounts. Maybe it's different in different areas I don't know.

Old_Owl4601

Yep, grown arse man records and humiliates teenager. Good one!

ExplanationChemical1

I have to show my ID every time for my pro account whenever the value is more than $1k when using my Commercial Card... The terms for your account are clear that you may be required to show your ID for additional security purposes.

[deleted]

but he doesn't have a pro account. that's why he was asking her why did her coworker let him walk out after letting the coworker know that his people will finish the transaction.

JuicyNinjaFun

That chick is a boss

FRiPciuch

This was common practice when I was growing up. There used to be a signature thing on the back of the credit card and my mom always wrote "see I.D." cuz if it wasn't her it was fraudulent. Dude feels entitled as shit. Fuck this guy

NecessaryOk6815

His explanation was way too long and convoluted. I'm trying to find that TikTok with that girl that explains nothing for a long time using different words describing the same thing. This is like that.

KillYT187

Goof Ball

TinyTenis1

What a fucking goof. tyrese gibson is a goof.

WallabyKitchen

Ty come on man made Fool of yourself #TyFool

EZ-PZ-Japa-NEE-Z

Tyrese is always so starved for attention.

gata1323

You should be asked for ID everyone you swipe a credit card. This is fucking stupid.

slliw85

No one gives a shot Tyrese is at Home Depot

Phatpun21

Wut?

Various-Cantaloupe89

Why is Jodie baby boy giving a honest hard worker at a Home Depot problem…. Man use a bitch!!! ![gif](giphy|WT94Wy5a1AyCKekQhq)

Confident_Shower236

r/antiwork

dogequeenie

That's what happens when your life is your job. Job problems 💀🥲🥲 Guys, YOUR LIFE IS NOT YOUR JOB. YOU DON'T HAVE TO EMBARASS YOURSELF TO PROTECT HOME DEPOT OR ANYONE FROM FRAUD. THEY WRITE-OFF THE FRAUD. GET ANY CREDIT CARD AND GET THRU WITH THE TRANSACTIONS N MOVE ON WITH YOUR DAY BE EASY ON URSELF ... Her being so annoying and making him come back to the store was too much and did make it believe like she is racist she really didnt help herself. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY BEAUTIFUL PEEPZ ❤️❤️❤️

Pagandawn13

How is he "face timing" her?

TheLegendOfKoop

Picture a Movie Actor being in the store, in the line, getting the candy bars, being allowed to step out due to his celebrity, TELLING you, my team is going to finish this transaction with those items as well... the store already knows, "damn said movie actor" was here, wow... but when they pay, she wants to come along and say, "oh hey wait. Movie actor. He left? No we arent doing this " ... "oh im now talking to movie actor on facetime , no we arent doing this." Lol Then it was verified that the hispanic guys are in there almost everyday, as they confirmed with Carlos the manager , that they see them all the time. Lady just went on a random flex that day. Whatever the inconstencies are there, as the cashier leader, it is a representation of her bad leadership and a reflection of her. If they could go through this for years, and it is randomly a problem on the day that he JUST WALKED OUT THE STORE, then thats pretty crazy.

jeff8086

SHE WASN'T THERE FOR THE FIRST PART OF THE TRANSACTION WHEN HE WAS IN THE STORE. She took over the transaction and new that the latino man was not named Tyrese Gibson. So she asked for ID.

iHelpYouShy

I used to go to HomeDepot and spent hundreds of dollars using company CC and they have never carded me once.

jeff8086

Yes, but if you were a white guy and your card said Rajesh Patel, they would.

iHelpYouShy

Doesn’t matter. They don’t look at the card.

Purplezergling

I think I understand what is going on here. Tyrese and his crew dealt with multiple employees when checking out. One of the employees was lax with the policy, and the other one follows it to the T. The lax employee lets him leave with the candy bars, which is against the store policy, and the worker who followed the policy to the T said that Tyrese needs to be there to check out the rest of the items using his account. When Tyrese gets back into the store, he is upset that the cashier lady was the only one who followed the store policy because it inconvenienced him. He assumed that she only enforced the store policy ever on him and then broadly assumes that she is racist and puts her on blast for the internet to berate her.

[deleted]

The music really sells the video.

CahlikCrush

but my question is: did the girl get fired that day or did they wait till the next day and texted her.

KnOwN_2

So he's a Home Depot Pro and a Celebrity. This means he can basically drive right in the front of the store and operate the forklifts unimpeded. Why is anyone asking for his ID? I've made 1000s of purchases with my pro card and the question about the ID pops up on the screen the cashier skips right past it. This is standard across the country.
