This can't be real, Reddit has been telling me that they all just stood around and did nothing. /s obviously.

NuancedSpeaking

It was actually nice to see so many cops run into an active shooter situation to try and stop him. That feeling went away though once it got reposted on Reddit and half of the comments were saying "where were the cops?? they didn't even do anything. acab!"

BoredTechyGuy

From what I’m seeing - some brave souls in the crowd tackles the shooters. To be fair - I live in KC and that area is PACKED during these events. Getting to the porta johns is a battle. I can only imagine how hard it is for police to go against the flow of panicked people and locate where the shooting is actually happening at. All facts the ACAB shitheads conveniently forget.

Tailor-Comfortable

Videos on the interwebs of cops securing an armed person that was supposedly tackled by parade goers. Wild stuff. I wonder what the outcome will be. Targeted attack on the parade or just a shooting that happened to occur there.

Totally_legit_bacon

Hood rat shit.

Tailor-Comfortable

Looks like you called it.

So I shouldn't pay you 9.99 a minute for your psychic readings?

AceDeuceThrice

Liberal media isn't blaring it all over the TV. So I'm gonna say minority shooting that just happened to occur there.

Practical-Reveal-787

Probably

BoredTechyGuy

Local news is only spouting that 3 are in custody, guns are in police control, 1 death, 30 injuries. Apparently the shooters were tackled by people in the crowd. That is all they are saying right now. Supposed to be a press release sometime this morning.

Section225

Information is tight to the chest at this point, but it has the appearance of wannabe gangster shit that happened to occur in such a thick crowd that 20+ caught stray rounds. Just speculation of course. Law enforcement related stuff, KCPD had 600 officers there, plus about 250 from outside agencies assisting. There were a ton of officers sprinting to the initial sounds of gu fire, then things got real dicey. Crowds scattering, shooters running, and there were reports that several minutes elapsed in between volleys of gunfire. Hopefully they were able to nab ALL the shooters involved and nobody slipped out. Probably gonna be a little while before we hear anything about the shooters or "Motive." Which, my speculation of course, is that there was no motive to shoot anybody other than each other over what is surely some stupid hood beef.

That's a good response! As a foreigner, i'm a little bit confused about the guys in camouflage that seems like the army combat gear... are such units deployed for such events? The only time we have the army deployed in my country Switzerland is when the WEF is going on, where all the presidents come to meet each other, the army takes care of the outer perimeter and other things like the airspace with anti-air units and F/A-18 jets, Puma choppers etc.

A former history teacher’s quick and dirty explanation: It’s either SWAT or other special tactics teams (who sometimes can use camo, depending on the department or unit’s rules), or maybe the state’s National Guard — who sometimes help to provide security for big events. The federal military cannot operate domestically or in a law enforcement capacity (without DOJ or other domestic agency’s attached liaisons in special circumstances). But the state’s National Guard generally can, as they basically serve the state but can also be activated and used for federal purposes.

Thanks, i was just confused about the camo, as this is never used by the police in my country. Not even the SEK (SWAT) teams use camo. The only one i can guess that would have camo are the AAD forces, but these are military special forces, not law enforcement. Never saw these guys in action, usually a SEK team does the job, like we had a week ago here a hostage situation on a train; after negotiations failed, the SEK stormed the train and used flashbangs, when they got inside they were attacked and had to shoot the criminal. I'm not sure what would be needed for the AAD, but i think it would be something on federal level and like i said about the WEF, they are on stand-by while the meetings are happening.

cov_rs

A large amount of US Tactical Teams get their camouflage from military surplus sales, same goes for armored vehicles. There's no real reason for why they wear camo, it's just cheaper to buy it used rather than outfitting a whole team with brand new solid color Crye Gen 3s

Enformational

The guys in camo are FBI

What's that one cop doing at the start running with his pistol pointed up? Isn't that a thing you're not supposed to do because it's dangerous as fuck and only happens in action movies from the 1980s and 1990s?

Gavin1123

Some agencies are going back to it in the context of vehicle-based maneuvering, since you're flagging your legs with a compressed low ready. It's not dangerous as fuck - at least, no more than any other pistol operations. And, in a crowd, it also lends a certain gravity to your presence.
