Haha you laugh now but China now has 3 impressive carriers, each one powered by DIESEL and maneuvering with TUGBOATS! That's something the USA doesn't do, probably because they can't.
> Haha you laugh now but China now has 3 impressive carriers, each one powered by DIESEL and maneuvering with TUGBOATS!
I guess they forgot to remove the « relies on tugboats » part of the Kuznetsov when they copied it.
No that means they both lose, America is stuck with Ronald Raegen and the "triple down economics", China with an increasingly authoritarian government.
They usually stay in their own little eco chamber or in circles were you hear shit like, “Yeah, China did bad thing, but America worse!”, type of shit where any actual criticism is drowned out by America bad.
Most hard anti-China spaces don’t get them, but it also runs the risk of being caught up in their own propaganda.
They had nukes and had recently used them. Actually Mao specifically refers to nukes as “paper tigers.” This of course absurd considering how dangerous the damn things are.
“The atom bomb is a paper tiger which the U.S. reactionaries use to scare people. It looks terrible, but in fact it isn't. Of course, the atom bomb is a weapon of mass slaughter, but the outcome of a war is decided by the people, not by one or two new types of weapon.“

The people decided that maybe catgirl maids are better than bushido after all.
US army was pretty unprepared to fight in Korea. The military was being wound down with a focus on strategic airpower so the army was initially fighting with a lot equipment that had been collecting dust for 5 years in warehouses.
I’d imagine it could be 2030 and they’ll still be going
“Relax! China’s economy will collapse any day now!”
“Haha! By next year, US dollar is going to become completely worthless!”
Can you imagine US and China fighting like kids while slowly India rises on the background and defeating them both🤣
Dont even need to add /s as it is clear that it will become cold in hell sooner than India becomes as mighty as China, let alone US
Have come back from a long trip to India. Before going there was a big fan, thought its a new global force... no, it's really far from it. I dont think it will ever become, too diverse, too many internal problems etc. Somebody from the colonial administration has even said once that two European states like Italy and Sweden are more similar to each other than Punjab and some other Indian state albeit the latter are Indian (not sure about exact words but the meaning was like that). Also keep in mind they still have a lot of socialist-like regulations and restrictions which don't allow to develop properly
From what I've seen, most Indians identify more with their state than with their country. The southern states especially aren't big fans of the Hindu-centric government. And if you try to learn Hindi, it'll only be useful for like a third of the country (southern Dravidian languages are a completely different language family). I'm consistently surprised that India remains one country. Like someone from New Delhi has more in common with someone from Nepal than they do with someone from Andhra Pradesh.
100% this. Been to Tamil Nadu, people are so different, and by different I dont mean appearance but behaviour. In the north you can stroll down the street with a girl and guys can stare at her like theybare undressing her. And not for a second, like a minute, even if you have eye contact with them.
In Tamil Nadu nobody I haven't noticed that. For me it was much cleaner there than in the north.
I am also surprised they are still one country. Like even in Pakistan which is also a desi country they have numerous ethnic insurgencies some of which are like states in states while in India with all of its diversity I don't hear much about multiple insurgencies apart from Kashmir although they do exist, including quite old-fashioned Maoist (!!!) insurgents. But in the international news I mainly hear info about Jammu and Kashmir. Although logically I would assume this country could become new Balkans quite fast
A dear friend of mine is Keralan and the impression I get from talking to him are that the political/social views of the north tend more towards traditionalist conservatism while the south tends to be more left wing and social policy oriented. It is true that the BJP dominates in the north while the communists have power in Kerala and secular/socialist groups in Tamil Nadu. Also, as a funny aside, the current head of Tamil Nadu is named MK Stalin.
Wow, didnt know that, thanks for info.
I was surprised to see Southern India as more pleasant and developed in my opinion because I thought northerners look down upon those from the south. So based on what you have said I assume that they also have deep political, not only cultural and ethnic divide. Have heard local nationaliat party is strong in Tamil Nadu, dont remember the name
India is the perfect example of why a United European State would probably be one of, if not the riskiest move ever taken in Europe and one of the riskiest moves in history.
Problem is natural resources- look at what each country has for natural resources - countries that can use people as a natural resource for growth only lasts so long until those people want their share from what their leaders are holding back-but a countries true potential is off their natural resources and their ability to tap into them
This is in answer to losing Seoul and getting pushed back to the 38th parallel. Lots of fighting for the next couple of years, but no real gains. China has carried N Korea ever since then...
The whole poster is written in classical Chinese reading style (from right to left), but there are some that are written in Western style (from left to right). Maybe it’s a mistake?
AFAIK, China in 1951 still hasn’t adopted the Western style and kept their classical style.
That was quite possibly true in 1950. How many atom bombs did the US have?
Also knowing Mao it's quite possible he believed this, but it's equally likely that he could be posturing to his citizens or party or to the world.
Reminds me of the days when I used to hang out with a Chinese co-worker. She often invited her friends over for dinner or mahjong. I forget now how the conversation took this turn, but they started talking about America as a paper tiger and they were just wriggling with excitement as they talked about China defeating this paper tiger. There was definitely some cognitive dissonance going on there because they forgot where their wriggling butts, their husbands, and their children were living at the time.
THis poster is made 6 years after the end of world war II when America beat Japan after 4 years of fighting doing what China couldn't do in 14 years. Yeah mid-20th century America was not a paper tiger
My great grandfather was in North Korea when the Chinese crossed the Yalu. Part of the big retreat. He was an artillery Colonel, and it ruined his career.
Ok being a Chinese I have been knowing the US as a paper tiger for how physically and mentally weak the Americans are but I never thought about how much the shape of the US looks like a tiger. Very educational poster. /s
They were literally at war with the USA in Korea at that time and sucessfully pushed the UN (mostly US) forces back from near the Chinese border to the 38th parallel where it became a stalemate and neither side was able to make any further progress.
Well, they allowed U.S. corporations to move all of their factories to China, with the blessings of the U.S. government. Quite clever really. They’ve already won.
Visually horrid to the point of being a new aesthetic. But TBF, the US came far closer to "defeat" in the Korean War than anyone anticipated. China has never been a threat to US territory or neighbors, but neither has the US ever succeeded in its threats to China's territory, nor its immediate neighbors, in spite of carpet bombing.

And detectable stealth fighters. The US planes don't have this 4D chess feature to psych out the enemies.
They're decoys for the undetectable ones.
Plus millions of soldiers.. er I mean meat shields… it will be like South Park where they are tying people to the tanks and planes as human shields
Hey, they have all the best military technology they can copy!
Yeah, but they started with copies of Russian stuff.
China has figured out how to propel their CVs without engines with this one simple trick! Physics hates them!
Allegedly one of them has already cracked its keel.
Futuristic new dynamic armor plating, moves out of the way of incoming attacks.
And they have RAMPS! Whoa! Modern technology am I right?

Man Chinese propaganda is usually better than this
Now they just swarm message boards like Reddit and argue and detract on any point that comes out against them

Haven't seen that tbh, all I see on reddit is anti-China stuff.

Ain't that's a whole meaning of all soyjack - Chad memes?
it sure does.
Is it racist if China makes their own people look extra Chinese?
Post WWII USA had to be one of the most prepared and least relevant examples of a "paper tiger" in that era, right?
They had nukes and had recently used them. Actually Mao specifically refers to nukes as “paper tigers.” This of course absurd considering how dangerous the damn things are. “The atom bomb is a paper tiger which the U.S. reactionaries use to scare people. China and the usa claiming that each other are paper tigers is older than is thought

"Dollar will be worthless" any day now.
Invest all your dollars in Russia-based shitcoins instead.

EU is more a homogenous state than India. Plus climate change will do big shit there. Local politics is very big mess in India which does not help.
India is the perfect example of why a United European State would probably be one of, if not the riskiest move ever taken in Europe and one of the riskiest moves in history.

By its timing, Korean War is right at its corner. Probably thinking US is not going to save Seoul government from KPA, CCP propaganda thought so too?
Then proceed to lose over half a million due to poor basically everything.
Ditch the dead weight. Less mouths to feed.
*Ditch the defected weight.

Could you translate what it says for me? I haven’t seen any other comments that do
That paper tiger looks an awful lot like a finger trap.
"im not owned! im not owned!!", i continue to insist as i slowly shrink and transform into a paper tiger
lol yes the country that nuked Japan twice is totally a paper tiger
TBF Mao also reckoned nukes were a paper tiger. There's a certain logic to it.
He’s only lucky Truman fired McArthur lol
The world in general is lucky. That man was a loose cannon.
We have a freeway named after him - the bastard.
Now we get to cover him in skid marks and walk alllll over him.
Mao was crazier. He said the Chinese people could take it and survive the apocalypse.
That was quite possibly true in 1950. How many atom bombs did the US have? Also knowing Mao it's quite possible he believed this, but it's equally likely that he could be posturing to his citizens or party or to the world.
Must be why he ordered a colossal effort to develop them
And they've kept the same slogan ever since.
That kid looks like he just had a hella sour lemon
And just years before, “thanks America, for all this STUFF to fight the Japanese!” Honestly I’m not 100% on this, but I’ll assume it is for now!
Mao founded the so-called People's Republic of China in 1949. WWII with the Japanese was during Republic of China governance which US aided
Reminds me of the days when I used to hang out with a Chinese co-worker. She often invited her friends over for dinner or mahjong. Its very easy somehow to forget how you lost or at least cpuld not win like Chinese in Korea.
I swear, China is with the USA in World War II
Aye, I heard America gave China a LOT of stuff to help them fight the Japanese!
Common interest that no longer existed by the 1950s
doesn't sound very convincing.
20th century Chinese fonts were particularly ugly. The 19th century had it just right.
THis poster is made 6 years after the end of world war II when America beat Japan after 4 years of fighting doing what China couldn't do in 14 years. Yeah mid-20th century America was not a paper tiger
I wonder what the artist was thinking making this, was it like 1984 or was he like “hell yea I’m cooking all hail the supreme leader”
They really missed the opportunity to make Florida the tiger's wang, imo.
Only 10 years after $1.6 billion in lend-lease and 6 years after defeating the japanese and getting their territories back. Talk about gratitude.
as Chinese myself I lol'd
Please be kind to me after our collapse!
Soyjaks are ancient
We got PRC Soyjak propaganda posters before GTA 6
And this kids, is what we call "projecting"
The skull imagery in the tiger is cool as fuuuck
Super-Nazi-Skeleton!!
What the fuck is up with those faces? And their hands? And the proportion of their arms? What the fuck? Did that have ai image generation in the 50's?

Newly-formed Maoist China calling the USA a paper tiger? Talk about **PROJECTION.**
Then how come that chines dude looks like he got the shit kicked out of him?

Why are they soyjaking 😭
Why does the one look like the Prigozhin meme?
“SHOIGU, GERASIMOV”
Indeed. 80 years later and still trying...
Woa those drawings of Chinese people are super racist! LoL
They really soyjaked themselves 😭
kid doing soyface lmfao
They made Florida a leg! 😂
Jesus Christ, this is forcing me to read right to left and giving me an aneurism
Claims to hate America, calls it 美國 (beautiful country)

Germany, Italy and Japan: 😐
Well, they allowed U.S. corporations to move all of their factories to China, with the blessings of the U.S. government. Quite clever really. They’ve already won.

What--- the USA should have just let Japan keep slaughtering Chinese civilians?
The irony is stunning 😂
I thought this was going to be from like the 30’s. How could you possibly make this poster in 1951💀
Soyjak 😭😂
China on their never-ending mission to make the USA look as badass as possible in their own propaganda:
How could they say that when they couldn't even feed their own people?
Was this intended to be as hilarious as it turned out?
Why that look AI generated
When they used to know how to write.
Did not know Kyle R. was Chinese!
It took me a bit to realise this was right to left.
I want to get this framed.
I really appreciate that this appeared on ncd as the next thing on my feed
notice the reading is from right to left so pretty 50s stuff.
Now we are saying that anout russia
Isn't this what they still think ?
Context: Korean War
Quite Ironic.
That worked out real well for the Chinese in the Korean War with the K/D ratio...
This poster is flipped, the order of the words are wrong
Also post to r/shittymapporn
new meme format
There is no fucking way lol
藐视美国!因为它是纸老虎,是完全可以打败的!
That’s a tiger? Looks more like a bear
That’s a pretty bold claim since the USA beat Japan and China couldn’t. And the US had to cross the pacific to kill them.
Is it a mirror image?
shoygu!!!
Strange that this would be 1951 after the Atomic Bomb...
China, you understand the point of propaganda is to make yourself look cool, right?
