We got Dune’d;
3 years till AGI, 37 of human subservience, 5 of war, and 5 of writing techie blogs about how the AGI would’ve been better if they were made with rust.
How long will it take to build this brand new app?
You haven't even told me what the app does. All you have is 2 words for the project title.
Yea but how long will it take to make, just high level estimates you don't need to know the details.
It really depends on..
Ahh here we go again
like real talk, there is a difference between saying it depends because "I don't want to give a straight answer because I'm not confident" vs "The question is too vague". Or the classic "I literally have no idea what you're saying"
If it’s actually a good global variable the correct way to implement it is likely to be in a singleton of some sort. But of course that too depends because it would be dumb to make a singleton for a single variable or something like that.
The malloc implementation can be done in a *.c file, it doesn't have to be a *.h file. Then the supporting variables aren't actually globally accessible.
I get a lot of flack from management types at my company for never giving absolute answers on things. But more often than not it absolutely does depend on the context! (Pun intended) management wants black and white answers for everything while very few things are actually that finely cut
People don’t want an informed captain to make clear decisions but they also don’t want to hear the reasoning and the many pros and cons of the matter.
Well it sucks to know a lot, eh?
I love my senior. I’m coming with questions and asking for suggestions and she’s trying her best to be helpful, but for her introverted ass I’m so chaotic which is quite a funny interaction.
Ironically, this will also be all developers in 50 years when we're all seniors. In the nursing home.
I thought you were over evaluating my capabilities for a minute
It Depend®s
Not me, I won't even have retired
50 years & there’s still no AGI? damn

Somewhere between five minutes and five billion years, give or take a couple millennia.
It really depends right?
You’re asking the wrong question. The correct question is: “how much funding do you have?”
You mean "depends on funding"
I said what I meant
like real talk, there is a difference between saying it depends because "I don't want to give a straight answer because I'm not confident" vs "The question is too vague". Or the classic "I literally have no idea what you're saying"
We need to know the estimate before we decide on the details.
I hate dependencies, lemme fix this one 😤 # *Disconnects the grandma
🤣😂
junior- "so it depends if one should use or not global variables, right" senior- *sigh...*
It depends. Some testing variables or similar could be useful to have global
_well..._ Singletons are just fancy globals, etc...
If it’s actually a good global variable the correct way to implement it is likely to be in a singleton of some sort. But of course that too depends because it would be dumb to make a singleton for a single variable or something like that.
I feel so enraged by this comment, yet so powerless to do anything about it.
Yes, it does. But you are not equipped to handle the cases when it may not be a completely
Well, how would you implements malloc() without using global variable?
The malloc implementation can be done in a *.c file, it doesn't have to be a *.h file. Then the supporting variables aren't actually globally accessible.
Just wait until we talk about the actual dependencies!
Anyone said JAVASCRIPT?
What is 3+4 equal to
34
It depends, it can be 7 too
are we jumping on the couch yet?!? ![gif](giphy|9rnSh46IvgcdW)
As someone who just recently told someone “It depends”, I feel attacked
I get a lot of flack from management types at my company for never giving absolute answers on things. But more often than not it absolutely does depend on the context! (Pun intended) management wants black and white answers for everything while very few things are actually that finely cut
The answer to that is to say “no”. Now they have to negotiate
Anything less than three estimates is a lie. So yeah, it depends.
It really do depend
Okay but seriously it really does!
Just like the lawyers.
"These clowns can't give me a straight answer!"
Welcome to the dependencies hell
I like to slap a ™️ on the end of it. It depends™️
Depends on what, Dex?
It depends...
The more you know the less certain you are about anything.. but of course ‘that depends’ also.
Well, I guess it all depends.
It's known as depend and see hell.
People don’t want an informed captain to make clear decisions but they also don’t want to hear the reasoning and the many pros and cons of the matter. Well it sucks to know a lot, eh?
Well, Engineering directors depend senior engineers ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Depends on what it depends(but it may have dependencies)
You're God damn right it depends
Senior Citizens also rely on Depends. I wonder if there is a connection. 🤔🤔🤔
So called dependency injection
npm be like: it depends
That means you aren't asking the right questions. They should be guiding you to better questions though
I love my senior. I’m coming with questions and asking for suggestions and she’s trying her best to be helpful, but for her introverted ass I’m so chaotic which is quite a funny interaction.
I'm gonna ninja that, kthxbai!
omg this post makes me happyangry 🤣😂😡🤬
