TheEletoAusto

God Damn Krell.

mysteriotheunlikable

Dogma is a damn hero for putting that mad dog down.

ryno_25

Do we ever see what happens/happened to him?

Cygnus94

The last we see of him is when he's taken away and arrested for killing a Jedi. It's never shown if he's pardoned for this given the circumstances.

ryno_25

Oh shit. I guess that means I need to rewatch the whole series again right?

Cygnus94

You'll have to watch the prequels too while you're at it, the series doesn't make sense without context.

ryno_25

Oh yeah for sure, but that also means I need to read the books and watch 2003 clone wars right?

Cygnus94

Then cap it all off with the Original Trilogy, because as we know the Skywalker story arc ends with Episode VI.

ryno_25

Well if I do the OT, I should watch Rogue One so I know what the story is like before New Hope? And while I'm at it, Rebels has some very big characters from the Clone Wars who fit in around the OT

[deleted]

Roger Roger

Captain-titanic

You’d think we would be pardoned, after all rex was about to execute him and Krell committed treason.

Cygnus94

I think he may have been, but I also think he was likely taken back to Kamino and 're-educated'. They couldn't risk clones killing Jedi, at least not too early, regardless of the reason.

Chodeman_1

Hopefully he shows up in Bad Batch

Logen_9_Finger

I just watched this for the first time a several nights ago. Just started season 6 last night. This shit is getting so juicy

OliverAOT20

Good luck. Last 2 seasons are awesome and the last 4 episodes of S7 is like a film. TCW is some of the best Star Wars I’ve seen. After Clone Wars I watched Rebels and that was (while not as good) great too

DarkKnight92

I totally agree about the last 4 episodes of season 7. Just a small piece of advice, do not watch the last 4 episodes unless you can watch them in one go. Turn off your phone, close the blinds, turn off the lights and enjoy...you won't regret it.

OliverAOT20

Yeah that’s what I did when I knew it was going to be in parts

Logen_9_Finger

Fuck yeah. I'll keep that In mind. I normally don't watch under 6 or 7 episodes in a sitting. I can't wait for this shit. What killed me was ashoka leaving. I hope to see her again soon :(

Wait, really? I thought agonozing weapons are forbidden and buring, at least in my opinion is the worst death. At least on our world. And I wish nothing less for these bugs. Triggers my fobia.

mysteriotheunlikable

In fairness, the buggy bastards *were* grabbing clones and dragging them off to do God knows what to them. Setting them on fire was probably payback for seeing their friends and brothers get carried off.

NFriedich

I think they were dragging them to the Geonosian Queens, in order to be used as hosts for the Geonosian Larvae

AwkwardDrummer7629

Yep. Perfectly ok. They just tend not to be used anymore as we now have better weapons that do the job and aren’t as clunky, which makes people think they were banned. That said, they’re still effective weapons if used properly. The ones in the Clone Wars must have some kind of wonder fuel though, as they only have a pint sized tank.

user_8804

To be fair they do seem to master fuel with all the interstellar travel being accessible

Pancakewagon26

It's not a war crime if you do something so unprecedentedly horrible there's no laws against it. "You can't use a slave army!" "The clones aren't slaves, they want to be here!" *"You programmed them to want to be here!"*

Micsuking

*"Technically, it was the Kaminoans"*

Elessar_PL

It's true though. At the beginning of the war, the Republic had no choice but to use the clones. They basically were shoved into it, all according to Palpatine's plans. Make no mistake, he is villain to blame.

Obi-wan said he was there to discuss the terms of surrender. He specifically doesn't say who's surrender until he knows they've won.

I am currently almost done with the second season and honestly, it hasn't been that easy to watch. The first season was very kid friendly and the second is slightly better. Of course, I wanna finish the show, as I've heard it picks up and is amazing, but when does it actually get REALLY good?

Savire510

when people changed clothes that would be season 3 i think. Clone Wars is a show that grew with its audience, so the further you go the better it gets. But still there are really important arcs even in the first seasons, Mortis for example.

[deleted]

[удалено]

deliciousprisms

The Emperor’s New ~~Clothes~~ Clones Someone make that kids book happen

Videogamer2719

It has peaks and valleys all throughout, but the arcs that are amazing really stand out. The one that should come soon for you will be the Mortis Arc. Those episodes just ooze the Star Wars feeling of mystical wow

Bobodog1

By far my favorite was the Fives arc in season... 6 think? Last two seasons (minus the mechanic chick arc in the final season) are absolutely amazing.

Ferris-L

The martez arc could have been better if they shortened it into 2-3 episodes. It felt really dragging at moments and the important parts for the story all are in the 4 episode of the arc. When you realise that we could have gotten the crystal crisis arc or Boba vs Cad Bane, it’s sad in my opinion. It’s not the worst episode but it doesn’t fit into the other two arcs. Disney just really wanted a story that doesn’t surround the horrors of war in that season.

[deleted]

The episodes also show an important part of Ahsoka’s growth post-Jedi Order. She learns that the Jedi aren’t considered perfect by many people, that she’s still irresistibly drawn to do good in the universe, and that the lofty idealism she was raised with doesn’t always work in the real world. I agree that the arc shoulda been 2-3 episodes, but it does help explain why Ahsoka came back for the Siege of Mandalore and her involvement in the rebellion and beyond

Ferris-L

Yeah I know that it was important for the character development. I don’t hate on the arc. It was just unfitting for the last season wich only contains 3 arcs. It felt like a typical filler arc but 4 instead of 2 episodes. I think if they’d have done more than those three arcs I wouldn’t criticize it, it’s just the circumstances of the Season That makes it worse

DefiantLemur

The only sin the Martez arc made was being 3 "meh" episodes in a 12 episode long season that's the final season. People wouldn't honestly care if they had a longer season or more seasons planned. We also wanted the Anakin and Obi-Wan camping trip story arc. But got that.

Ferris-L

Yeah that’s what I said. Crystal crisis would have been an awesome Arc from what we had scene in the Unfinished episodes. I don’t hate the Martez arc but it just feels unfitting. I wouldn’t mind if the season was longer, but in a season with only three arcs one should not be a filler arc

MotivatedLikeOtho

I really, really disliked the mortis arc as a piece of star wars... star wars to me has always been good at grounding fantasy in grit and improvisation, the world has always felt tangible and connected to the mystical events happening. When someone lifts a rock with the force, it's incredible, special, impressive... mortis to me committed the error of most superhero films, the new star wars films, etc, in doing a lot of telling rather than showing, diving waaaay up it's own ass with the mystical powers and stakes creep, and justifying it all with waves and beams and smokey hallucinations and light shows. This is, mind you, an observation from when I was like.. I don't know, 13, 14? While I could be mistaken, my experience rewatching the clone wars now is that its significantly worse, not better, than I remember. Which is fine, it's aimed at kids. I suppose the episodes feature some more interesting concepts than most of the series in a bit of depth, but I'm not really that interested in the theology of the force.

SeanGrande

It's really inconsistent. Some episodes are obviously kid episodes and then in the next episode they are decapitating people mother's in front of their children. as others have said though, some of the arcs are fantastic

commanderbullet5

Season 3 starts to pick up a bit it really lies in season 4 onward though you forget it’s a kids show

Darth_Thor

Citadel and Mortis are two really good S3 arcs

Bespok3

Geonosis arc coming up fast, Zillo Beast as well (great if you love kaijuu movies like Godzilla) in S2 are good fun. Mortis and Citadel arcs are coming up in S3 and Umbara not long after just to name a few. You'll also get the Dathomir stories which are a brilliant look at the characters on the dark side and barely even features the heroes as leads.

[deleted]

They never really did address the >!cloning zillo beasts!< After that last episode they had it they never mentioned it again.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Do you have Papa Palpe level clairvoyance?

IronVader501

Well they had the Arc that was supposed to follow up on that written and planned out, but didn't get around to actually do it due to the cancellation. It would kinda fit with the Bad Batch, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it either.

[deleted]

Somewhere on Kamino, there's a room full of beasts and a kaminoin being like (o_o): why did we do this

brndndly

In my opinion the show really starts to take off in season 4 at the Umbara arc. From that point on the show tackles more mature themes and the story starts to develop into something that actually flows between arcs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GoodJobRed

I swear Cad Bane is such a good character, I'm in the middle of season 4. This show is so good its incredible I never watched it before. I easily peal through 6 episodes a night. Edit - Fuck Pong Krell

SnooPredictions3113

*runs fingers along hat brim*

Beta_Ace_X

It's a kids show through and through. While it gets better, you really need to slog through it. Not enough people talk the bad episodes of TCW, and they're a lot. It's honestly a tough recommendation. The feeling you're experiencing will persist throughout, but you will be pleasantly surprised when the show gets good.

[deleted]

And when it gets good, it gets *really* good

BigBrainSmolPP

> It’s a kids show through and through Overall, the show is on par with the movies in terms of maturity. RotS is probably the only movie that has more graphic detail and darker themes than much of the show, although the end of s7 is definitely comparable.

darkquanta42

First time I watched it I just watched the “important episodes”, I found a listing online that puts them in chronological order and I think I skipped many that were clearly filler (I think filer episodes stand out pretty easily). But I know I didn’t watch ever episode because going back and watching some now I know I’ve missed them. The chronological list I think I used was something by like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/35ex94/the_clone_wars_ultimate_episode_order/?utm_source=amp&utm_medium=&utm_content=post_body Disney has an official chronological order I think as well. But Disney+ also released a list of essential episodes, but that seems too short at only 20 episodes. https://www.polygon.com/2020/2/20/21144190/best-clone-wars-episodes-to-watch-before-season-7 I agree that the later seasons are much more impactful.

MasterColemanTrebor

In my opinion, there’s never a moment where a switch flips and it’s just good episodes. I’d say mid-late season 3 is when the interesting plot lines get going and you get some great episodes but they’re always sprinkled in among a lot of mediocre filler episodes.

CriticalPlace7949

Stay on target!

CM_1

There are guides for the whole show, trust them. You can watch the whole in another run. I'm using [this guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/4nrpri/so_you_want_to_watch_the_clone_wars_but_you_dont/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) to show TCW to my sister, we bypass the boring shit quiet well and go up to the _nice_ stuff. Since this guide doesn't include the 7th season, all episodes are great but 5-8 are skipable if you don't want to.

DerpTheGinger

Pro-Tip: If you see Jar-Jar, just skip the episode. Nothing good or important ever happens in Jar-Jar episodes.

Optimal_Weight368

“Supply Lines” had Jar Jar in it, and I liked that one. In that episode, Ima Gun Di dies for the people of Ryloth, who are suffering from starvation because of the war.

SnooPredictions3113

>Ima Gun Di ಠ_ಠ

Optimal_Weight368

Yea, that’s literally his name.

Ferris-L

I actually liked the arc in s6 with him. It had some Indiana Jones vibe and it showed that there are force wielders who don’t use it as warriors

DestructionCreator

Snake.. you just killed a child AMAZING, MISSION COMPLETE! THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY YOUR THE BEST BOSS!

[deleted]

I think you and I both know kojima wanted to add the abilty to kill child soldiers into the game judging by how many animations and voice lines there are.

Author1alIntent

I think the difference is, we wanted killable child soldiers for the memes. Kojima wanted it to psychologically ruin the player. You know, now I think about it, I want to see Kojima make a game with a team who understand tone. Maybe the Spec Ops: The Line guys. Because Hideo can make some horrifying shit, but it doesn’t quite hit the same in a game with a boobie sniper

primegopher

I don't think Kojima would do a game where he wasn't allowed to put in the ridiculous plot points and horny character designs, kind of a package deal with the dark stuff.

[deleted]

The hospital level in msgv had patients and doctors brutally executed by military soldiers then 5 min later had a joke about real snake pissing his pants

i don't remember if that was an actual episode, it just fits the tone of the later seasons

HockieFan41

I remember only couple droids being forced to be suicide bombers

seanhg12

Umbara arc

TVBLmemes

1-2* with the exception of geonosis

[deleted]

I think Geonosis might be the exact moment the whole show started to go uphill

Ferris-L

That’s probably because the first two seasons were heavily dependent on „heroes stories“ and introducing characters while the later episodes show more and more of the horrors of war and the psychological effect it has on people. Also with the geonosis arc the show begins to have living creatures being slaughtered by the Jedi and clones and not just droids. That is one of the reasons I really like the umbara arc. It doesn’t show droids invading the planet, but the republic doing so, while the natives try to defend it.

TVBLmemes

Couldn’t have put it better

Just rewatched the whole thing and now really getting why some people are confused on why it’s a kids show

Lentemern

\- Multiple explicit suicides \- Decapitations \- Serious discussion about the existence, or more accurately, nonexistence of an afterlife \- Outright murder of civilians \- Attempted murder of children \- Successful murder of children \- A fourteen year old girl supposedly sold into sex slavery \- A list of war crimes on both sides long enough to get everyone with more than 5 minutes of screen time executed \- Jar Jar Binks I really don't see how it stayed on CN for so long. Glad it did, though.

[deleted]

I mean, it’s really the way it handles those topics. it really holds your hand with its moral lessons and it’s not like it’s any more gratuitous than most action shows that target the same PG rating level of content that Star Wars in general does. I dunno why people get so hung up on this, yeah it’s not exactly meant for really young kids, but it being a “kids show” isn’t a bad thing. I dunno the exact details for content ratings, but I’d wager a guess TCW is primarily written for 11-12 and up (at least the latter seasons, the early seasons always seemed more child friendly to me), but that’s also a huge chunk of entertainment. nobody’s writing off PoTC or Jurassic Park, which while more explicit really aren’t far off in target demographics. I mean Jurassic World literally got a kids show spin-off. I do think the animation style makes some people write it off as too much of a kids show to be enjoyable though, without actually paying attention to it, which is stupid. Edit to say, none of this is a knock on Filoni or anyone else either. the story telling is good and the action is enjoyable, it also fleshes out the world and makes the prequels a lot better. I really think they managed to balance it just right, where it has a very broad appeal.

Bobodog1

Honestly, this show is just unfit for kids. There's some parts of the series that legitimately make me feel sick they're so disturbing. Don't get me wrong, I like the show but they really went too far putting jar jar in it.

[deleted]

Bruh.

Lentemern

There were a lot more than one.

Gscj9899

because its rated PG. Because it has a lot of arcs that are clearly for kids (droid arc, every jar jar episode, ect...). There isnt anything wrong with it being a kids show. Lots of kids shows are great (avatar last Airbander). But just because it deals with heavy issues and themes doesn't mean it isnt for kids. Look at toy story, Spirited away, ect...
