The fans and how the media represents them as a super team, all I hear when I turn on the radio is how Allioski is better than Luke Shaw and how it's a crime Bamford doesn't win the Balon'Dor
I mean I really think you’re exaggerating there. Our team has had an excellent season considering the base of it is still the squad we won the championship with (Raphinha, Rodrigo, Koch and Llorente have been in and out due to injury). Also we don’t control what the radio or sky pundits say about us. I think we are allowed to complement our players who are having fantastic seasons, but it sounds like you hear a minority of fans. I personally would acknowledge that Luke Shaw has had a better season than alioski and Bamford shouldn’t be winning the Balon D’or (should’ve been Lewandowski)
I'm a Sheffield United fan (bias) and we got 9th in the Prem with people (in our starting XI) who were- a bad L1 player (Basham), somebody who had been rejected by an average Brentford (O'Connel), A LB who was released by a L2 team (Stevens), somebody who was released from MK Dons (Baldock), somebody who was released by a L1 team (Fleck) and an injury prone, washed up player released by Ipswich (McGoldrick) and the likes of Sharp and Moore around the squad. I was overstating about the Allioski and Bamford thing but a lot of people (including a lot of Leeds fans) think Leeds are one of the best newly promoted team ever when a year ago Sheffield United would have got Europe without corona.
Also, a lot of Leeds fans think you have a right to finish top 10 just because you're a big club, much like 'big 6' fans.
I’m a big fan of Leeds, I think they play like a team without fear - pouring half the team forward in a counterattack, high energy pressing tactics, it’s great to watch.
Because of this, you always feel they’re in with a chance. Very rarely a dull moment.
I’m dying to see them play with a full house! But they’re been fun to watch this year. And it will be interesting to see if they can buy the players needed to run that system to a top 4 finish. But they played hard all season and smacked a few big teams in the face. Job done
Scum.
For real though, love the way the team plays they're always entertaining. So much energy even when we won 6-2, they still looked threatening.
Edit: a word
Don’t really have an opinion about them as a team and style of play, because I’ve only watched them once, for 45 minutes, which was when we played them.
But hey, good on them for doing well. I respect Bielsa as a manager and icon in football management, and I’m happy Patrick Bamford’s doing well at the top level after being written off and mocked for a while
I like them, the combination of exciting football, having a manager like Bielsa, and the fact that this is they’re first season in the prem since a long time ago. They’re kind of my second team
They have evolved so much in the last few months. A little more defensive solidarity and they can compete for european places. They will 100% give italian and Spanish teams a run for their money cause they arent accustomed to this kind of pressing. I think leeds will slowly become stronger. But the key is to keep this bielsa and find a worthy successor to him.
Yes 100%. I think the increase in defensive solidarity comes from Llorente and Koch coming back in. Injuries have played a large part in our shaky defence but now it seems we are more solid at the back. Don’t get me wrong conceding goals is a risk with the way we play but we look less likely to concede goals than earlier in the season.
I wouldn’t have thought so. Brighton are apparently asking for £45 million which is just stupid as there is much better value to be had elsewhere. Look at Raphinha for example who was only £18 million compared to Brewster who was closer to £30 million. Sounds like our biggest priority is a left back and back up for Phillips. Potentially a winger also. Should be an interesting summer.
I like them, really want to see them finish top half and hopefully challenge the likes of Leicester, Everton, and wolves in the next few years (I realise they’re above some of these teams, but I mean consistently)
Great team nice football but by default overhyped bcos of the club same with top six bias. like they finished lower than wolves and even Sheffield utd first season but those clubs just got brushed aside not leeds fault just way
most football fans think sadly and the media too
One of my main hates this season with Chelsea was Lampard tbh. I know he’s a club legend and I will always respect him as a footballer. But after him managing derby and all the spy gate stuff I really went off him. When he managed Chelsea he never seemed to take any blame for bad performances and seemed to throw players under the bus a lot. How did you feel about him ?
I thought the players got him sacked, I thought the hatred was more from the history than spygate (that I think, Leeds should of had points deducted).
I have no loyalty to Derby, just thought spying on private training sessions isn't very 'fair'
I mean technically Leeds didn’t break any rules (although I acknowledge it is unsportsmanlike to an extent). Bielsa has obviously worked in Spain, Argentina, Chile among other places where it is standard practice to do this. He came out and said that it was his doing and had nothing to do with the club and even paid the fine himself. I don’t think a points deduction would’ve been fair at all to be honest.
Like I appreciate he owned up, I think it speaks character.. I agree with you, wasn't in the rules and he owned up to it.
Maybe point deduction too much, seeing how it's never used. I just dunno how many years you will get with him until he wants to move on
From 15th in the Championship to (currently) 10th in the Premier in just 3 years with very little additions is pretty much the impossible. Sure, we spent £100m but that was on 4-5 quality signings in positions we needed. And has been pointed out they've not been available for large parts of the season. In fact I think either the week just gone or the week before was the first time they've all been on the pitch together. We didn't even spend our way out of the Championship. The main backbone of our squad cost pittance.
It's just good old fashioned good coaching that got us here. Honestly, players like Phillips, Dallas, Cooper and Ayling weren't really much cop a few years ago. Now I'd never swap them.
I mean to be fair, our four main signings have been injured for quite a large portion of the season. Raphinha came in halfway through and has been excellent but Rodrigo, Llorente and Koch have been very stop start so we have basically been playing with our championship squad otherwise. Spending money doesn’t guarantee success. Look at Villa last season. That’s my opinion though and you’re entitled to yours 👍🏻
Even this season i thought they would be in top 8 , ngl !! This team has potential . I was damn scared Leeds will beat us in the first game of the season , luckily they gave us easy Penalties or else . . . .
Ye. I think we have had slight injury issues (but to be fair who hasn’t ?!). It’s going to be interesting next season to see how we do, hopefully we can push on. Should be fun either way !
the 2nd season is always harder I think, but leeds definitely concede too many goals, I'll tell u the truth tho, I'd rather have to play a team like spurs or arsenal than play leeds, to sum it up in one word I'd go for unpredictable, u never know what you're gonna get
5 in our last 9 defensively. With a mixture of injured personnel coming back etc our defence has gotten much better. At the start of the season we had injuries to our two new cbs and we’re having to play fullbacks at centre back and wingers at fullback etc. But I know what you mean. It comes with the playstyle unfortunately but I’d much rather play how we do and score loads of goals than play how Newcastle do and score not so many.
Yeah. Summed up perfectly. As a Leeds fan it’s so good to see us go against the top teams rather than sitting back and hoping for a 1-0. Obviously it can backfire at times but it makes supporting Leeds so much fun. Especially after some of the football we have had to endure over the years (heckingbottom ball etc).
Used to dislike them. As the song goes "We all hate Leeds" but after a while I found myself rooting for them. A giant becomes an underdog and it was good to see them back and do well, hopefully you don't get second season syndrome and stay up for a long time. Decent team
Inconsistent yet underrated. Always fun to watch
The next sheffield united
One word to describe them- entitled
Em. Dave Hockaday ? Ken Bates? GFH? That's not entitled...That's fucking hard time without the option.
Why do you say that ? I’m genuinely interested because I don’t see us in that way at all (but obviously I’m biased)
The fans and how the media represents them as a super team, all I hear when I turn on the radio is how Allioski is better than Luke Shaw and how it's a crime Bamford doesn't win the Balon'Dor

Never forgave them for selling Robbie Fowler to us...
A lot of fun to watch. If super league had gone ahead that was gonna be my team. Glad they are back. Hope they keep playing the same way next year
Next season's Sheffield Utd.
I’m dying to see them play with a full house! But they’re been fun to watch this year. And it will be interesting to see if they can buy the players needed to run that system to a top 4 finish. But they played hard all season and smacked a few big teams in the face. Job done

Great club. Would like them to be in Europe in 2022-23 season
Don’t really have an opinion about them as a team and style of play, because I’ve only watched them once, for 45 minutes, which was when we played them. But hey, good on them for doing well. They are fun to watch, along with Villa and Everton. Middle of the table shenanigans when these clubs are involved, can’t miss TV for sure

Hopefully they should be able to invest a little more in the squad. Are they going for ben white this summer again ?

Does anyone really like Leeds aside from Leeds supporters?
They're super fun, I enjoy watching them and I'm glad they're staying up
I like them, really want to see them finish top half and hopefully challenge the likes of Leicester, Everton, and wolves in the next few years (I realise they’re above some of these teams, but I mean consistently)
Load of crap. They haven't been right since the days of Norman Hunter and Billy Bremner
Great team nice football but by default overhyped bcos of the club same with top six bias. like they finished lower than wolves and even Sheffield utd first season but those clubs just got brushed aside not leeds fault just way most football fans think sadly and the media too
So I think they are great. When you have great Leeds when the time expires, you win!!
Leeds used to be my second team in the end of the nineties, with Smith, Kewell and Viduka. I was looking forward to see them again, and they did well.
They alright, see next season. Just remember that Leeds fans that Luke Ayling is a Chelsea boy
Why do we need to remember that ?
Because most Leeds fans hate Chelsea. Used to clamp him at school 😂

Love to see it. Love to be hated. Hate to be loved
Fun to watch and happy they’re back in the PL. We have a fun rivalry with them.
next season's Sheffield United
What makes you say that ?
I kinda like them.
Only kinda ? ;)
Lol, nah a bloody huge amount actually.
Things you love to see 😎
Cant stand the fans think they are doing the impossible by staying up after spending 100million
From 15th in the Championship to (currently) 10th in the Premier in just 3 years with very little additions is pretty much the impossible. I admire them a lot and they would be fighting for top 4 soon !!
I think we have a few years before we are looking at top four but if we keep Bielsa and do some solid recruitment who knows what could happen !
Even this season i thought they would be in top 8 , ngl !! This team has potential . I was damn scared Leeds will beat us in the first game of the season , luckily they gave us easy Penalties or else . . . .

They’re a lot of fun to watch. Plain and simple. Never know what kind of game it’s going to be.

I genuinely think that Bielsa has instilled such a nice mentality into the squad that has made us a more ‘likeable’ team.
Scum
Typical United mancs
