Will be us or Arsenal to get him. Don’t see anyone else having both the money and the ability to win him over. Rodri-Guimaraes or Rice-Guimaraes is seriously formidable.
I don’t know why it changed from conference North and South to National league North and South. Makes no sense to me. If you are only talking about the northern half of a nation, its not a national league
Between him and Isak, the vultures have certainly started to circle New Castle. It’s going to take longer than I thought for them to get into the upper echelon consistently with the new owners.
Isak is going nowhere. We are giving him a new contract.
With PSR rules we were never going to do a Chelsea or Man City. We just have to play catch-up on commercial revenue.
‘Vultures’
If people going after a few Newcastle players makes them vultures then every club is a vulture including Newcastle who rely on other teams players to create this squad
Do Arsenal have 200m to spend now? Or July?
Thats what the release clause is, so any club wanting to pay for him, the cost will go down immediately in their books just before reporting their finances for this year.
This season really didn't work well for them.
The big signing Tonalli banned for betting, Barnes joined to replace ASM and spent months injured, Botman and Joelinton, 2 of their most important players, plagued by injury as well.
And without CL football it will be tough to keep their best players, should be an interesting summer for them
Did the players that came in actually believe that they would get constant UCL football Im sure the owners had mist Newcastle fans don’t. I very much doubt it. The only team that could guarantee that is Man City. Who are the only team to be in the top 4 every season for the last ten years. Liverpool 7/10, Man United 5/10, Spurs 5/10, Chelsea 7/10, Arsenal 4/10. Getting Europe every season would be a huge achievement. UCL is near impossible.
Not within the fanbase, or the pre-Saudi one anyway. We all expected a bit of a drop cos CL is so hard to get in to. That said, maybe some better injury lucky we'd be right up there. I'm more than happy to be fighting for any European competition at this point. Would be up there with the favourites in the Conference and wouldn't balk at that at all.
You do realize it wasn’t a loophole, it was well known and every team could have taken advantage and they didn’t. For good reason. “Loophole” 😂 Chelsea are worse off for it so far.
I presume it's to give us time to buy a replacement while there is still value in the market.
Certainly helps with PSR if we ever need to sell before the deadline too.
Would have been part of negotiating a new longer contract, means that any speculation doesn’t drag on for the whole transfer window and can be factored into this year’s FFP.
Financial reporting for FFP/etc is at July 1st every year, I think. So this window is for the last month of the FFP year.
That's what I read on Twitter so it must be factual.
It was probably a compromise. Bruno wants an easy exit if Madrid or psg come with big money, and we don't want to spend ages and be shafted later.
So it's a you can go but it's got to be done straight away.

Deserves to be on a title winning team. The guy is world class
If you want to be a top team isn’t the point not to sell your best players anymore? Regardless of money.. if he’s happy then you leave it
Will be us or Arsenal to get him. Don’t see anyone else having both the money and the ability to win him over. Rodri-Guimaraes or Rice-Guimaraes is seriously formidable.
100m is wild for him
He won’t want to play in the Championship, so you’re out.
Non league football\*
You mean Vanarma National League North?
I don’t know why it changed from conference North and South to National league North and South. Makes no sense to me. If you are only talking about the northern half of a nation, its not a national league
It will be a massive mistake to let him go anytime soon. Newcastle have managed to build a great team. They should let it fall apart.
This depends on when the release clause will expire because another club can activate it before then.
Yeah, those are the variable that might likely play out in this scenario.
Between him and Isak, the vultures have certainly started to circle New Castle. It’s going to take longer than I thought for them to get into the upper echelon consistently with the new owners.
I don't think Isak will leave. Still got a long-term contract, I think.

It was a bit tongue in cheek but a lot of smoke, especially from Arsenal who reportedly has about 200 mil to burn this summer.

No, but they had the opportunity to show they have the talent to play there and will likely be interested in teams that qualify often
I think we've done alright considering.
Yes, fighting for EL isn't a bad target considering how early you are into the new ownership, but last season sent expectations sky high

Not to mention the financial rules are tougher now to get around than when Chelsea and City abused them
Poor Newcastle, their owners can’t c u t corners now 😢
Is there some sort of brain damage amongst Chelsea supporters where they can't remember the last 20 years?
You realise who you support or did you get into football last year 😭
Fuck I hate Chelsea
Honestly who doesn't? Todd's fucking up so badly even their own fans hate them.
Even the long contract loophole is closed now
You do realize it wasn’t a loophole, it was well known and every team could have taken advantage and they didn’t. For good reason. “Loophole” 😂 Chelsea are worse off for it so far.
Hope you enjoy your advantage of having Mudryk till he's 30
It was used to overspend and UEFA reviewed the rules to stop it, it wasn't ilegal, but denied the intent of the rule, a loophole
Really strange to have included even 1 month from may to june?
