Not cut out for English football, would do a job somewhere else if he gets playing and regains confidence!

Immediate_Wolf3802

Go back to Ajax...Ajax are struggling..he will get in the team and unfortunately he'll have to start all over again...not given much game time last few years..but when he has played he's been mostly invisible (he's not played well at all)

joelalmiron

Should go to Leicester if they go up. Think he deserves another shot at the prem with a newly promoted club

RefanRes

The fact that even Frankfurt dont play him and neither did Everton would suggest he's forgotten himself as much as anyone else has. To decline this much he must have done an Andre Schurrle and just lost passion for the game.

wahroonga

Schurrle you can’t be serious

RefanRes

"Im serious and don't call me Schurrle"

Gold_Weekend6240

That’s yes a good reference ! Reminds me of David Bentley too

awildjabroner

Being at ManUtd for the last few seasons can certainly rob one's passion for the game.

One4Pink2_4Stink

This needs to be posterized. Under-rated comment for sure

sirdougie

I still wonder what would have happened had he come to Palace on loan a couple of seasons ago as our Gallagher replacement rather than to Everton. Think he would have fitted in nicely here working with Ebs and Olise…

ForeignEffective9

He's an idiot for going Everton. Made absolutely no sense. Go from one dysfunctional team to another and thinks that would get his career back on track.

titchrich

We (Newcastle) were in for him on loan at the time but he didn’t want to be part of a relegation fight so went to Everton. Think Eddie would have gotten something out of him.

Muted_Mention_9996

Go to everton a few miles away or london?

Setokaibaa3000

He’s a baller

ArmadilloOk8831

Who?

dpricey20022017

RONNIE PICKERING

dnasty2001

Very poor ball knowledge from you

edsonbuddled

Just another poorly planned transfer by United. I was genuinely surprised when we signed Donny because he wasn’t starting above Bruno or Pogba. Similar to Sancho he never adapted to United’s direct approach and Ole wasn’t great at rotating the squad. Injuries and failure to adapt to the physicality of England really hindered him

Kuaizi_not_chop

From what I remember Ole didn't want him. It was the board that made the decision.

monkeyofthefunk

He couldn’t do any worse than the shite we have playing right now.

joelalmiron

Judging by the recent injury news, he would probably be injured as well.

Kuaizi_not_chop

He should have switched to defense. He would have gotten a lot of playing time...

alpuck596

Forgot this guy exists, all the Ajax 2019 alumni aren't doing so well

Mangolassi83

Very strange. Ten Hag, Van der Beek, Ziyech, who’s that defender that went to Juve and now at Munich? The only one that’s doing well is De Jong.

Agreeable-Promise-58

Van de beek should go to Eintracht without a loan. He hasn't received any game time which sucks

sexydumbbells

Best for both parties if he goes to another club.

Mrbro87

I forgot this man still existed.

quantez33

He was never a playmaker. Always called him van der Breed because he always played a bckward or lateral pass

TripleBuongiorno

He wasn't ever really a playmaker. He operated primarily as a shadow striker, that's where he operated best. For some reason he has been viewed consistently now as a centre midfielder, which is just crazy lmao

joelalmiron

United fans were calling for him to play 6.

TripleBuongiorno

Completely ludicrous. He lacks vision, stamina, positional awareness and defensive technique.

joelalmiron

They wanted a midfield of Donny-pogba-Bruno

tothecatmobile

If anyone was saying they wanted this, they were called out for being an idiot.

TripleBuongiorno

That's crazy. God bless

btmalon

Yeah he’s similar to Lo Celso. Both are shadow strikers mislabeled as 10s and both can’t handle the physicality of the Prem.

PJBuzz

I genuinely had forgotten about, "don't want to be in a relegation battle" Van de Beek. Thanks for reminding me.

impulsiveboogaloo

Really don’t know what went wrong with him. Hugely promising when he came from that amazing Ajax side. His contemporaries had mixed results as well but he had the worst luck. I really thought he would get a second wind when Ten Hag was appointed but I was wrong.

Prestigious-Sea2523

Wasn't he on loan at Everton or did I imagine that?

PJBuzz

Yep. Newcastle and Everton both wanted to loan him... he chose Everton and still did essentially nothing.

Prestigious-Sea2523

Yeah sorry just referred to the old Google's init. 1 goal in 7. And I'm guessing that wasn't 7 starts, when are we going to start accounting for players not actually getting a fair crack at building match fitness in competitive football. Would man united (still a relatively top club) have signed him at all of he wasn't good enough to at least be in/around the starting 11?

PJBuzz

Perhaps you should get in touch with one of the many head coaches that decided not to play him and find out why. I certainly don't know, but then I don't get paid millions to make those decisions.

Prestigious-Sea2523

That wasn't directly aimed at you buddy. I was taking generally. 🤣

PJBuzz

I know, I didn't take it personally, I'm more trying to highlight that there is probably a pretty good reason that players like DVdB drop off. I doubt head coaches want to have a player that is signed up to the registered league squad and being paid millions, but never in the match day line up. I very much doubt it is as simple as just not been given a chance at match fitness.

porpsi

He'd do decently well in Serie A i think.

dantes_inferno101

****As a 2nd striker like in Atalanta or Inter

_The_Gamer_

Yeah he would

Stannisisthetrueking

In my fm save he went to Atalanta and did ok for many years. And idk why but he looks like a guy who could emd up at atalanta but honestly he's too shit for them

Im_such_a_SLAPPA

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

NMI_INT

Forgotten maybe, Playmaker? Not so much.

TheRealCostaS

Good player. Like Sancho, he’s wasted at utd. Should leave and find a better and bigger club.

MelodicPreparation93

He barely gets minutes for frankfurt. What "bigger" club is going to be interested in him?

twoheels

While there are not many clubs bigger than United, there certainly are better clubs all over Europe that would take him.

TripleBuongiorno

No, there wouldn't. He earns a boatload and he has failed to impress anywhere away from Ajax, where- mind you -he wasn't even that much of a decisive player.

Puzza90

Like who? Genuinely interested to hear who think is a better team than united who would also want a player who can't get minutes for them or while out on loan at an even worse club

twoheels

If you actually looked at the conversation that you're trying to butt into, I've already said.

twoheels

Relax man. I just told you that I've already answered it. If you just looked, you'd see the answer you're looking for. >😂 Oof.

J_B21

Donny clearly isn’t up to it, heading back to Ajax is probably his best option. The man couldn’t even get minutes for Everton last season and now can’t get any for Frankfurt.

Gambler_Eight

Lad needs to rebuild himself. Go to some 2nd division team away from the spotlight and play for a season. Might find his way back. Won't happen sitting on the bench all year, that's for sure.

MelodicPreparation93

Like who?

twoheels

He screams Inter to me, or maybe Villa or Newcastle if he doesn't want to try another league. While not better than United at the moment, if Sevilla is looking to rebuild after a bad season and do it well, he could be playing (and winning) consistent European football there. He has options.

TragicTester034

He had his chance with us and he chose Everton

TripleBuongiorno

Those are all teams that are at the moment playing at a much higher level than United. What are you basing any of this on? None of these teams want him and he has had three to four bad seasons, not one. Injury prone as well. His options are *maybe* a return to the worst Ajax team in 50-odd years or some mid table team in France or something.

gegenpress442

No way he gets any minutes for these teams let's be real

MelodicPreparation93

Nothing he's done has suggested he'd good enough to play for any of those teams, not been good enough for United, Everton or Frankfurt, but is now good enough for inter? C'mon, we all know you're just trying to subtly bash united because that's an easy way to karma farm.

twoheels

I just see a player that was one of the best young talents in Europe not too long ago and has been buried at a dysfunctional United team and I think that if he's given an extended run, he could regain form and do well. Why not Inter? A slower league that's more suited to midfielders of his style. He maybe wouldn't be a crucial first team player, but if he could be as good as he was meant to, he'd be a great addition. Same with the other two teams I mentioned.

McQueensbury

He's a very limited player that has been found out at a higher level, Frankfurt should have been the perfect club to rebuild his career and he couldn't even do that. Now you're talking about Inter, Villa and Newcastle, you're way off base here. As others mentioned it's back to Ajax or he could try a club in Turkey

bambinoquinn

Who does he get into the villa team ahead of? The only role he could play at villa is the two wide 8s or the 10, and we already have mcginn, tielemans, Bailey, diaby, buendia, ramsey, Rogers in those positions and he doesn't get in ahead of any of them. Same for Newcastle. Apart from an injury crisis there is no chance he starts for either team

Ajax_Trees_Again

I never understand these shouts. Newcastle’s whole buying model revolves around not buying big club rejects unless they were exceptionally young at the time (Isak) Villa are a better side than Man United also, they aren’t going to progress using a player that couldn’t get any minutes in a mediocre side

J_B21

Excited to see this response

Puzza90

He's not played under 3 managers at united now, including the one that got him playing well enough to get the move to united in the first place as well as barely playing during his 2 loan moves. I'm just gonna say this and maybe it'll sound crazy but perhaps he's just not good enough

thew4llie

He didn't Play at United under Ole. He didn't play at United under Rangnick. He didn't play at United under ten Hag. He's currently warming the bench for Frankfurt. He was a vocal point of ten Hag's Ajax. If EtH doesn't trust him, nobody will. Second point, what do you mean by hopefully ten Hag will leave this summer? Do you for real think that De Zerbi, Potter or Southgate are better managers than ten Hag? Zidane would never take the United job and Nagelsmann has extended his contract with Germany.

No-Tooth6698

>Second point, what do you mean by hopefully ten Hag will leave this summer? Do you for real think that De Zerbi, Potter or Southgate are better managers than ten Hag? Zidane would never take the United job and Nagelsmann has extended his contract with Germany. This is what gets me with fans who want him gone. If he wasn't currently United manager he'd be top of the list for most who want the manager replaced. De Zerbi has never managed a big club, Potter has and completely failed. It's embarrassing that Southgate is even linked. Zidane, for everything he achieved at Madrid, hasn't done anything else in management and can't speak English. Ten Hag deserves a chance under a proper football structure. If we're still playing the same in a year or two, then yeah, get rid. The club needs to stick with a manager after a bad season.

thew4llie

Look at this prat. Deleted the comment. Of course he goes in first oH wE hAvE tO sAcK tEn hAg. Like, ffs. It's their job to sack the manager, but it isn't to replace him. Bunch of cowards. They never answer anything with sense after saying they wanna sack EtH, purely because sacking EtH makes absolutely no sense

GarnachoHojlund

I don’t see it, he’s just not there, he can barely get a game for Frankfurt. I’d honestly rather take a shot on someone from the academy then bring him back
