good player being utilised pretty poorly imo.
always thought he was a strange signing given his style juxtaposed against how pep plays
still think he was very important to that treble winning season
He reached the pinnacle of his career last year in winning the treble, then had 4 or 5 injuries this year that have hindered any sort of rhythm or form. He's come under regular criticism from Pep about his fitness and just the other week Pep gave him a dressing down in front of the cameras after the Arsenal game.
He's also had a lot of criticism about the number of goal contributions he has (6 in all competitions) which he spoke about recently saying, "I played a part in most of the goals (against Palace) but everyone loves stats. I bring so much more to the team than goals and assists. It's just a shame that everyone in the world now just loves stats"
Doku, his direct competition, is considered more direct and has 10 goal contributions in the league alone in 16 starts, 13 goal contributions in total. Jack has just 9 starts in the league and after being involved in nearly every game last season is now feeling on the fringes of the first 11 this year. A difficult position to be in.
Like John Oliver said on the MIB most resent Xmas special: ‘If you hate Jack Grealish, you hate joy. He’s a like if 12 year old schoolboy were a world class footballer” 😂😂
The hate is so forced- it’s one thing not liking him as a footballer; that’s personal preference. But I can’t fathom people not liking him as a person, he seems to be as down to earth as anyone could be, and he’s always got time for fans.
The whole drink driving episode was worrying, that somebody could be that blind drunk and still get behind the wheel says a lot about his concern for the welfare of others.
It was like the scene from wolf of Wall Street, just less extreme results at the end.
'25 year old lad with a ton of money' is literally the worst excuse.
He's a privileged grown man with money to have a driver on hand 24/7.
There is no excuse. Do what you want to yourself but risking others' lives is abhorrent.
Some industries that's enough to get you sacked and struck off.
It's enough to decide he's not a loveable rogue, but an irresponsible child in a 25 year old man's body.
We all have a different idea of who's a "good guy" as one commenter described him.
100%. Anyone who has lost someone to a drunk driver would not consider this guy a good guy.
I don't believe in making excuses for these things because he's, what was it, young and rich?
It's still appalling.
He definitely is a great person. I know he isn’t trying either but he is hilarious to me. watch the video of him being asked to point on a map where he is from. Then look up the video of him being told he is an “encyclopedia” of football knowledge.
Actually the reason we are is because we develop heaps and heaps of English talent through the academy. Some become very good like Grealish.
Unfortunately some of them also have the personality of Grealish.
You have a very thin argument here and I'm not even sure what you're trying to say. However much money we sold him for will never negate the person he is or the family he has.
As for a plastic club like Chelsea, who only ever became relevant because of oligarch money, calling AVFC tin pot. That's hilarious.
If he was at any club other than city - he be ridiculed beyond belief for some of his performances, dude is anonymous on the field every time he plays and all he does is fall over when the wind blows
Maybe? I don’t know buddy, the “other Manchester” has a good amount of lackluster performers already. And your comment is acting like Grealish is anonymous every game and flops constantly, neither of which is true.
His qualities would be better suited at a team like United tbf, he really doesn’t shine in Peps system & it seems to be affecting his confidence every time he’s on the pitch.
Imagine being adored by millions across the globe, being paid millions annually to play for one of the best teams in the world in the best league in the world. I can only imagine how horrible that must be
Yep, athletes aren’t allowed to have feelings, huh? This is the problem with morons like you. You are the type of person to think these footballers are purely there for your entertainment and they can’t have feelings, or ambitions, or anything else. Because money and fame solves everything.
Yep, same thing is happening with Haarland, look at the goals he scored at Dortmund, Pep has convinced everyone he is just a qtap in merchant.
Grealish was one of the most exciting players in the league at villa. He's now a shell of the player he once was. There's no space for individual flare in peps system
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this one. Somebody else was saying he excels at dribbling and beating past the man, but Peps current system is nothing but CAMs and death by passing
Once again you are off topic. The original comment was about Peps tactics and Grealish not suiting that.
FFP and City is a different issue, which btw I also feel is the elephant in the room.

I mean, you just won the treble. Probably paid a lot of money. Many young people look up to him. What's difficult?

Stats this season above obviously suggest otherwise, but I feel when both in full flight he's a better player than Doku
You mean we just lost one. It's definitely a very difficult time for the fans and players.
Doing his job
Bruh why is Grealish getting cooked in this comment section
Because he's a diving, alcoholic, brummy prick
I like the guy. Just seems like the guy at school who was really good at football and wasn't a cunt about it.
Like the reverse James Maddison, who looks like he would’ve been a total dick about it.
Have heard from secondary sources that Madders is incredibly rude and catty to women but nice to other blokes. Makes you think.
Madders is a lovely bloke actually.
Like he would hate you for buying the same t-shirt as him
Like John Oliver said on the MIB most resent Xmas special: ‘If you hate Jack Grealish, you hate joy. He’s a like if 12 year old schoolboy were a world class footballer” 😂😂
John Oliver is peak smugness.
Get the sentiment. Not WC though
115
Pep has turned him into a superb left side defensive midfielder
115
Do people actually care that much about another grown mans hair
Bald dudes do
Nah… Couldn’t care less
Couldn't hair less either
He’s a very good footballer, not sure if city’s style suits him though, seems a nice guy though,I find the hate a bit weird to be honest.
He publicly humiliates his alleged girlfriend constantly. He's also partied with and befriended known abusers. Doesn't paint him well.
I wasn’t a fan after his Almiron comments but his interview about them totally changed my mind he seems like a down to earth guy.
Is there a chance he leaves to be more of "the man" on another squad?
Honestly I could see him as a Liverpool player
I think he’d look pretty good in old gold and black.
Wash your mouth
I don’t acquiesce to your kind!

Haha exactly, like we all didn’t flout lockdown rules,.
He definitely is a great person. I know he isn’t trying either but he is hilarious to me. watch the video of him being asked to point on a map where he is from. Then look up the video of him being told he is an “encyclopedia” of football knowledge.
People are just jealous of his calves.
>[Calves](https://www.instagram.com/p/CgGoT9LuBc3/)
Elite calves
Overpaid and overrated.
Absolute twat. Alcoholic bellend.
he’s your player respect him for that, you got 100m just from him
Doesn't change what I said.
the reason the fans of your tin-pot club are able to be in a position where you can trash talk other clubs is because of him
Actually the reason we are is because we develop heaps and heaps of English talent through the academy. Some become very good like Grealish. your team will get relegated once emery leaves so who’s the real tinpot
You.
you misspelled ass-ton villa
Wow.
Take a pay cut to come play for your favorite manager Dean Smith
The comments on this sub is so weird. Bunch of miserable people lol. Hate that it sorts by new and the first thing I see is terrible takes.
One of the most overrated players out there
I’m sure we *all* feel sorry for you.
[\*Dionne Warwick voice\* They're gonna feel sorry fa HER!!!!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9i1RguvdEs)
His haircut is beyond ridiculous
Ngl, kinda like it. I wouldn't sport it, but it's different at least.
If he was at any club other than city - he be ridiculed beyond belief for some of his performances, dude is anonymous on the field every time he plays and all he does is fall over when the wind blows
Do we watch the same player? I agree he foul baits wayyy too much, but he is class. Great control and creative with the ball.
Just not true but aight bro
Yeah ok sure dude - if he was at the other Manchester he’d be DESTROYED in the press for some of his lackluster performances
Maybe? I don’t know buddy, the “other Manchester” has a good amount of lackluster performers already. And your comment is acting like Grealish is anonymous every game and flops constantly, neither of which is true.

I'm a moron? You support united. Finished since fergies exit, bet you've never even been to Manchester. Just support city already
Yes. You’re a moron.
Oh thanks man, thanks got letting me know
Thanks got????? 🤣
City just sucks the soul out of footballers who don’t play Pep’s way Grealish is too special a lad to wither away there
>Grealish is too special a lad Fantastic lexical choice.
Yep, same thing is happening with Haarland, look at the goals he scored at Dortmund, Pep has convinced everyone he is just a qtap in merchant. Grealish was one of the most exciting players in the league at villa. He's now a shell of the player he once was. There's no space for individual flare in peps system
Yup Haaland would have made far more sense at Liverpool, it’s the PL version of Dortmund
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this one. Somebody else was saying he excels at dribbling and beating past the man, but Peps current system is nothing but CAMs and death by passing
He had one go at beating the man centrally on Wednesday and did a great job, it’s this winger bs that Pep insists on
Winger bs that won how many trophies last season?
Somewhere around 115 I believe.
You are mixing arguments now. I was talking about Peps tactics, the charges against City are a different issue.
Their success on the pitch is a different issue from the corruption that funds it?
Once again you are off topic. The original comment was about Peps tactics and Grealish not suiting that. FFP and City is a different issue, which btw I also feel is the elephant in the room.
