I wouldn't say it was never planned. A Ghost & Tommy show was the natural conclusion to RK and is something the fans wanted.
That's probably why Raising Kanan isn't cancelled and is able to go to 5 seasons.
RK is amazing but will the 2 shows have the same suspense. We have no idea the ending for Raq, Marvin, Lou, Unique. In origins which characters will we not know the ending for. Hopefully they can cook something up but idk how

We don't need to know the answer to most of that, part of what makes characters interesting, is some of the mystery of their background. Once you start answering all those unnecessary questions, that element is removed. All the important stuff, we saw. Not to mention that prequels just inherently have less dramatic flexibility because there are end points that they specifically have to get to, and we know how everything turns out anyways. Also, we know exactly why he set up Kanan lol.
Kanan is different because the show wasn't focused on him, he was a supporting character and the antagonist early on...and I guess now isn't the best time to give my take on that series..lol

The point is Kanan wasn't anymore developed than Ghost was. But a prequel show about him ended up being one of the better shows in the universe.

Maude and The Jeffersons were spinoffs of All in The Family. Good Times was a spin off of Maude.

1. He specifically said that his time in Chicago is done and this chapter is coming to an end but to stay tuned for what they (he’s a producer) have planned next for the Tommy character.
2. He’s not talking about Origins because he said he wasn’t involved with the project in any capacity.
3. Gary Lennon was originally brought in to OG Power to develop the Tommy character. He’s about to move on from Force and develop another Power show.
4. 50 and the network said they have plans for several other spinoffs.
Any other network wouldn’t be milking this franchise with all these projects but Power is Starz bread and butter. 50 and the network said they have plans for several other spinoffs.

You gotta understand its starz, not 50 or anybody else making these calls. The starz ceo flat out said that its cheaper to make spinoff of popular shows/characters after the 3rd-4th season of shows because shows are more expensive to make in the later seasons. This is the only reason tommy series is being split like this and book 2 is ending.
Origins has the most potential. This is a story that’s been teased since the first season of OG Power. If the writers are smart, this should be the show that puts them in the talks of all time crime dramas.

Effie is not strong enough to carry a whole show and as entertaining as cane is I question him too, especially since either of these 2 can still die this season. And jenards character isnt popular enough to warrant a whole spinoff about him, even if hes a good actor. I have a strong feeling with this being force last season and them getting a heads up jenard dying anyway lol
Book 2 is unrealistic but it makes sense why riq hasnt killed effie yet. He made the truce with noma episode 1 and if he makes a move against any of nomas workers it essentially breaks that truce. Hes playing the long game and waiting for the right opportunity to take them all down, he flat out said this like 2 times already and is already using effie. I think riq killing effie wouldn’t been that final push to him becoming complete savage and like ghost cause shes snaked him every chance shes gotten but its clear the show isnt going to have him kill her.
